It is located just off Grey Street, head down the steps into the main restaurant area. I was looking for this place on my Apple Maps and did have some difficulty as the sign from outside isn't too noticeable. The staff seemed friendly and explained how most of the menu could be adapted to be gluten-free - I ended up going for the American Burger, on the menu this was described as "Double patty, American cheese, pickles, ketchup + American mustard. Includes a FREE SIDE of your choice!" I would have liked to see a wider variety of burgers on the menu, perhaps with some different and more exciting sauces - only the more premium burgers seemed to come with the Fat Hippo sauce or truffle mayo. With smashed burgers being in right now, I was surprised they didn't offer them on the menu here. My food was just OK, the fries were really skinny and a little too thin for my liking, but they were still seasoned well. My burger again was average, the meat was reasonably juicy for the type of patty used, the cheese was fine, the sauces were slightly cheap and it felt like it was overloaded around the edges, and not enough in the middle. The gluten-free bun wasn't too bad - certainly not the worst I've had but also not the best either. 3* - The food was average, if you're looking for a bite later into the evening in Newcastle, this is one of the few options, so for that it's good, I would be unlikely to return if other places were open nearby though but it's nice to have a reliable choice in the city if all else fails.

First visit we were told that they didn't have any curry despite it being 'curry and quiz night' so we had to have a roast dinner which was great to be fair! On the second visit.....no food left and no bar snacks available. I asked for a hot chocolate but was told I couldn't have that whilst the quiz was on but I could get a cup of tea....needless to say I was perplexed! Halfway through the quiz nothing was available on tap so they recommended cocktails with the bar shutting early in the end. One of the female toilets was out of order with the one remaining loo having a broken casket (still flushed though importantly) and towards the back there appeared to be a covered up hole in the roof but they had kindly put a heater there to compensate for the draft. So you might be thinking....oh dear this sounds awful. But actually the atmosphere is great and the bar staff are very chilled out so it has a great vibe and strangely enough i will probably return next week! I had high hopes this would revitalise me on a Friday evening and satisfy my taste buds and I was absolutely right! Manny's is ideally located on a side street off Northumberland street making it very convenient for shoppers, students or city centre workers alike. There were 4 different pizza's on display on my arrival which were explained to me by a very friendly lady behind the counter however there are many more options on the menu. They had meat options, vegetarian slices and even a white pizza (for those who are unaware this is pizza without the tomato sauce) so all in all a good selection. I opted for the prosciutto and rocket slice which was delicious....lovely thin base and beautiful combination of flavours! I chose to sit in the window which meant I could people watch which is always fun but you can also take out or have your pizza delivered which is great! I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't see any of the desserts on offer in the counter although possibly a blessing for my waistline. There is also supposedly a Man Vs Food challenge which could be interesting. I will definitely be back to try something else!
