I realize reviewing a Petrol/Service station is a little...unorthodox. But then so is Dayef…read more At first glance it is a similar elk to its Supermarket linked compeditors. And it is. I mean how different can you make a petrol outlet? Its the little things that bring me here time and time again despite having to drive an extra few minutes. To start with, the unleaded petrol here is usually ever so slightly cheaper. Not enough to cross Melbourne for, but enough to lure me in. Once in I was impressed by the small car wash and vaccum and air station. However what I am most thankful for is when I go to pay for my petrol, I dont get hassled to purchase 2 of anything or offered deals. All the usual service station offerings are available here but Im not alone in thinking that it's the little extra touches here that win over us customers. Exit slowly as there is a hidden bumped on the footpath!

Offered great service and explained the work I needed done to my car in my language (ie. 'not a car expert' speak). What is also a bonus, the guy who worked there (sorry can't remember his name) was personable - friendly and chatty. Not rude, obnoxious, arrogant. Will be going back, fo' sure.

If you're after a wash and general vacuum, it's satisfactory - though this really is dependant on how fussy you are. I've used this carwash a number of times and my general opinion is they do the job. On occasion I've needed to bring a clean cloth out and spot clean windows that have smudges. I've just recently chosen to have my new (secondhand) car steam cleaned and have the leather treated priced at $149. The previous owner was a smoker and this was evident by the stale smell and dirty ashtray. It needed freshening up so that new car smell (only 2.5yrs old) could be revived. For that price I expected every nook and cranny to be cleaned. Unfortunately the ashtray was dirty and those nooks and crannies weren't cleaned properly. Upon mentioning the dirty ashtray, they were accommodating and cleaned it immediately. The grooves in the leather still revealed dust and some remnant dirtiness. I've had to go over it thoroughly myself with a damp cloth to get those bits that were missed. Would I use them for detailing at that price again? Probably not. A general wash on the other hand - yes.

Mechanics get a bad rep, but the guys of Macleod Motors dispel the myth completely. Friendly and honest, their customer service is fantastic and I trust my car with John and Terry completely. The location is a short walk from the Macleod train station so you can head off elsewhere while they fix your car. As they are an independent business they do charge more then your chain service station, however the value and personal service you get for this charge is definitely worth every cent. My car always seems happier after it visits Macleod Motors, what more could you want?

The result.....actually really positive. This garage mainly deals with panel beating and bodywork but I asked the owner/manager for a service while my car was in there and he happily obliged. He even detailed my car for free leaving it brand new clean as he "didn't want it leaving his garage as dirty as it came in".......embarrassment.
