A week or two ago the battery died in the clicker for the gate to my house. I took the thing apart and found a weird little battery I had never seen before. I looked up the model number, and found that it's a battery usually used in small electronics and those zappy dog collars. I assumed it would be easy to find, but a few trips to the usual suspects - Dick Smith, Bunnings, etc, turned up a bunch of confused sales assistants and alas, no battery. So naturally I turned to the internet. I chose Battery Business because they had the battery I needed and they're proudly Australian. I picked the battery, paid through paypal and waited. I'm not sure the exact date it arrived as I was away for the weekend, but it was definitely here quickly. Along with the batteries inside the package was a hand written thank you note saying that they valued my service, and a 10% off coupon for next time I order with them. Definitely sealed the deal for me! Their reciept says "Low, low prices + old fashioned service", and I can't help but feel that they embody these values exactly. I will be using them to order miscellaneous batteries in the future.

I didn't have to look far as there was a mechanic around the corner. I thought it was a full service petrol station but the only thing they don't sell is petrol. They have pool chemicals, milk, chocolates and potato crisps. They also have a huge following - always good news for a mechanic. If you want to get your car serviced you have to book as there are plenty of cars parked in the forecourt of this ex-petrol station. If however, you are a female and you have an emergency, they are absolute gentleman and will look at (and hopefully fix) your car. They carry out rego checks, wheel balances, sell tyres and do normal services. They also do services at a fixed price so you know what you're up for before you go ahead.

The shopping area is quite large although I rarely purchase any thing other than the high grade petrol. Just a block off Old Windsor Road, between Bunnings & McDonalds it is easy to find.
