There are two security guards by the door to check you in and make sure you're not carrying anything dangerous. You check in and get a ticket with a number on it like the DMV and wait to be called. Even though I have an appointment I wasn't called until almost 15 mins after my appointment time. The person that helped process my paperwork was nice and quick! I didn't expect a longer wait time when I had an appointment so be prepared for that.

It has all the features you'd love in a park minus the public restroom which is a deterrent for me when picking a good park. What it does have is lots of benches to rest your weary feet on the walk over. Picnic benches with tables and metal chairs so you can bring your lunch. 2 play structures. A gazebo with picnic benches under it. They also have a bbq stand. You just need to bring your own charcoal. Parking is convienent there. There is lots of street parking. Yesterday I went to Carol's, it's an institution. It started in 1988. Carol's father, George O'Campo helped her open Carol's. This isn't the original location of Carol's. They opened their first location just down the road from its present location. Carol is from a family of restaurnnteers. Her great grandfather was a cook for Charlie Chaplin. Carol has since retired. She dedicated 20 years of her life to Carol's and now her son Ray, runs the business. I'm new to Carol's and I think Ray is doing a fabulous time. I went to Carol's with a party of 10 and they handled us like champs. We started with 6 people and as the people poured in they put another table to ours and we ended at 10. We ordered in waves and they kept up. We were all eating about the same time. Those Chefs are really on the ball. Another gem of West Sacramento is the RiverCats. We love going to their games. They are such a family friendly venue. If you want to pass on fees, just walk up to the window and buy tickets on the spot. I'm not sure how you buy tickets in advance as there is no parking near the box office. We always go day of and buy tickets. Unless you go to the Giants vs the RiverCats the games are rarely sold out. They have their own private lot and there is a charge for parking. They have a few places you can buy groceries. My go to place is Raley's. They also have a Nugget, it's' really nice, but too high end for me. You can also buy groceries at Target and Walmart. I love Raley's they have everything I need. I have a love hate relationship their discount system. You have to sign up on line and then clip their coupons each week. You don't need a smart phone to use there system which is good. All you have to do is sign in to their website, clip coupons on line and link it to your phone number. Then you can go shopping and enter your phone number at check out to get the discounts. I dislike this system as there is no spur of the moment shopping, you always have to plan ahead and remember to clip the coupons. I can go on and on about the perks of West Sacramento.

Rocklin rocks!…read more Rocklin is a growing city. Like Roseville it is a beautiful and safe community with a small town atmosphere and now that I no longer work in the City of Rocklin I kind of miss it. No, not my former job but the food places I've discovered while working in Rocklin. My exit to work was actually at Rocklin Road [Exit 108] on I-80 E so I'm referring to this side of the city where as soon as I exit and turn left I see Koja Kitchen a little past Granite Dr. Granite Drive actually has a lot of nice restaurants and fast food places to try. Now while I can't guarantee you a good dining experience nor great food these are the places I've tried... there is Adalberto's Mexican Food with a 24-hr drive-thru, Sushi Kakogan (new business!), Jing Jing Chinese Cuisine (not yet--this place has been on my bookmark list for a long time and I have yet to make it here), KoJa Kitchen (yum!) and when you crave fair food for cheaper price, try FancY FunneLCakeS. On Pacific Street (old Rocklin side) I've had lunch at The Mad Teriyaki Grill and I get my donuts at Jasmine's Donuts. There are plenty more places to eat but my review would run too long if I mentioned all of them. I've also found the back way (from Granite Drive) to Studio Movie Grill! I would head here sometimes after work during the week to take advantage of $5 Discount Tuesdays. It was less than 5 minutes from my old job. The parking area is terrible though. The stalls are too close together so usually you come out at the end of the day and find some door dings on your vehicle. Although I have a lot of close family living in California most of my family is on the East Coast not far from my Manhattan home. I'm highly recommending if you want to move to the West Coast!
