I've met my best friends here, started my business bc of the favor of God on this house and Ps Mike's constant encouragement from platform. I don't know where my life would be right now had I not walk through the doors of Inspire Church in the Waikele Shopping Center back in 2012. I am excited to raise my kids in this church, and to support and carry the vision that God has given my senior pastors! My wife and I are very blessed to call Inspire Church home!

So the women's conference is great, but "merch"'and an expanding venue to rake in more money vs a more intimate sanctuary. They preach weekly about the obedience of tithing to further the ministry, why then does the women's conference cost an arm and a leg?? Shouldnt the head female pastor be promoting women's conference so "all" can attend without taking a loan?? They have lost and no longer promote the most high as our father but rather as an avenue to personal wealth! Promoting, women against one another and wear your best to arise! Then their daughter posts daily about her run or her OT workout as she is married to a local artist. Is vanity not a root sin. I'm ready to move on to a more intimate environment focused on God and not riches and aesthetics. I said what I said...prove me wrong!

We came here one Sunday as visitors and were…read moreso surprised at the beautiful but simple liturgy celebrated in the Ordinary Form (Novus Ordo). We could feel the love the congregation have for God and we were treated so kindly as if we were ohana. After Mass, we got to meet the pastor. He is a witty, funny, but very erudite young priest from northern China who spent years studying in Rome. He was amazing and had us laughing with his subtle but hilarious sense of humor! It's was so incredible to meet a young man who grew up in the midst of China's anti-Christian persecution and still held fast to the faith and became a priest despite the danger. We came early so we could participate in the rosary and pre Mass prayers. There is much peace here... so much that we returned on the next day (Labor Day so we had off from work ) for the weekday celebration of the holy sacrifice of the Mass just so we could visit this peaceful church again. We will definitely return again if we find ourselves on that part of Oahu. The history of this parish is quite interesting. Originally a mission church of St Elizabeth's in Aiea in 1942, it moved over to where Holy Family parish is now (next to HNL airport). This new church was finally constructed in 1973 at its present location in Salt Lake. But not before suffering a tremendous setback. In 1972, a few weeks before construction completion, unknown persons committed arson in the middle of the night and burned the new church almost to the ground. Perpetrators were never caught. The local parishioners found the funds to rebuild the church in a different architectural style 14 months later. While the architecture is modern, it is surprisingly not offensive to classical church design. Open and full of light, the church is constructed in a way that allows quiet contemplation and yet still retains the majesty required of a church dedicated to the Almighty ever living and loving Triune God. I especially liked the round stained glass "rose" window depicting the Holy Spirit situated "ad orientum" (facing East) that delivers beautiful diffused light to the altar. Wonderful church, wonderful parishioners, wonderful priest! So glad we came! Mahalo for reading my review. Pax et Bonum.

The church is huge and updated, lots of pews to sit on, and I can imagine during mass, it caN get crowded. Unfortunately, I came to attend a funeral service and wake service, the ushers were very warm and greeted us with a smile. The main comfort room is located down a stairway, under the church, where a large multi purpose room is located. The services went well, and after mass, the family hosted a lunch out front of the church. There's a tent and tables for the guest. Again, there is a shopping center just around the corner for everything else. It's a great place to visit and worship.

As for the service, what a pathetic worship team! A guy playing ukulele & 3 girl "singers" that looked absolutely petrified to be on stage! Not even a guitar player, smh. The pastor spent alot of time trying to figure out how to project tiny pics from his phone onto the screen which you couldn't even see. He also seemed unprepared with his sermon, alot of redundancy. Alot of older people, a somewhat welcoming vibe but meh not really feeling it. I say these things not to be critical but to be constructive. If you offered snacks, had a better worship team, sunday school teachers were on time & prepared & sermon wasnt redundant, maybe you would attract more people.

Fast forward to 2025 and we attended and were surprised by a few things. These things I'm going to say is not to be harsh or dividing the Christians there; but we notice there was no hymn books, no offering plates, CCM type music and few members had their own Bibles with them. Everything was shown on the large screen TV sets in the auditorium. Pastor Surface sermon was good, but to me it felt like a short sermon. I don't know if it was the jet lag, but I thought the sermon could be longer. I do give credit to the Pastor that he preached from the KJV. My wife made a statement and it made me stop and realize what she said: "It's sad on how much the church has changed from 2011 to now. "

My children and I don't go to church as often as we'd like to or should! I grew up with no real…read moreties to any religious group so I've always been open in that aspect of my life. When I was younger, on occasion I would be dragged to church with my pretentious aunt. It was completely unnecessary and hypocritical. I love my aunt for trying, but really, who was she kidding? Anyway, my main point being... my early experiences with church were always boring! Faith Assembly of God is anything but. We live very close by, a couple of blocks away literally. I had never thought of coming to this church because from the outside it doesn't look like a church I wanted to visit. I first took an interest when my co-worker suggested that I go. Over the course of 3 years that I've worked with her, she would kindly suggest that I would have a visit. She was never pushy about it but always kept it as a seed that would grow within me. Finally, during the VBS activity that was hosted a couple of years ago, I made the time to attend with my kids. My initial thoughts when I walked through the door were: WOW! The work that the church members had put into this activity was really amazing. It was a superhero theme with decorations, costumes, activities and learning of course. We all were able to get to know a lot of the church members and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We never felt at any point that we were new or awkward especially for our first family church experience. From that point on we tried to make more time into visiting early some Sunday mornings for at least praise and worship, as a start. Praise and worship here is very uplifting! The younger church members are so involved in everything that goes into the programs. They pretty much lead praise and worship with their beautiful voices. The words to the songs being sung are displayed on a projector screen, made it easy for us to learn the words and sing along. My children and I have felt so much at home with this church, at this past years "camp" my children begged to be a part of it for the weekend that it was held. Never in my life did I think MY children would beg to go to church! For 3 full days my kids attended the activities and even slept over one of those nights. Although there was lots of fun and games, I know they learned a lot from their time spent with the church. I am so grateful for the friends my children and I have made at Faith Assembly of God. I will definitely continue to try and make more time to attend church because of the great experiences we have here. The Parking is very limited so either find street parking or plan to be dropped off. Also, the street is often very crowded because the church is a Pokémon gym so tread with caution!
