I know, I stick out like a sore thumb but the locals greeted me with a warm smile as well. during mass Priest was to the point and he did not drag on for hours. The folks are mountain folks, the atmosphere welcoming. Having the service at 3pm allowed me to fill my day with hiking and brunch, an added plus. "Come as you are", they say. Just to be sure, I stopped in at a quaint shop across the road from the sign, bought a couple of hand-made truffles and got directions from the friendly shopkeeper. I like to visit Christian Science churches wherever I travel and this one is among the most interesting locations I have visited so far, right up there with the one adjacent to Central Park in Manhattan.
