If it wasn't for the staff I would have gave 1 star, I called to get an appointment I was having some abdomen pain all weekend. I didn't want to goto the ER/ED unless it got worse because it cost so much money to goto the their, I can got the Dr for $25 get a CT scan for $65 and about $20 for blood work. The hospital would cost me about $1250+, you get a bill from the hospital for blood work, the room, facility charges and miscellaneous items. Then a bill from radiology and another bill from the ER/ED Dr, so that like 3-4 different bills to do the same thing. Now back to the Dr visit, I arrived at 11:35 checked in for my 12:00 appt. paid then waited in the waiting area until 12:20 Nurse called me we were walking to the room and she said the Dr. is backed up.... She was extremely friendly did her stuff and then say its going to be a while before he gets to you.. It was like 12:45 when Dr, Berg came in, now they want you to be there 20 min early but its ok to make you wait before they get to youth and if your 6 min late may as well stay home they wont see you and they will charge you. Dr Berg asked me what was wrong and I explained, he then asks me some questions. Do you need a rectal exam today? No I came in for my abdomen pain. Does it burn a little when you pee, sometime not a lot? Oh then we need to do a STD test, NO we don't I don't have a STD doc. Then a bunch of other questions about me hurting, he says well let me write up some paperwork for you. He's looking on the computer and asked me what do you want me to do, you can just go over to the hospital. I didn't want that I said because it cost to much money to goto the ED/ER, oh ya I agree he said let do some bloodwork and you can go get a CT scan. He asked if I have had contrast before yes I said the one they shoot in you while doing the scan. He got pissed because he was talking about the one you drink and now he has to write the script over, I said just leave it.. Then I asked if Dr. Lowenthal retired, he says I don't know he's not my dr. Im just trying to have a conversation.. Im going to steer clear of him everyone should, but all of the staff were friendly and helpful. read more

I saw Amber Sisenstien and she was a complete joke. Rude, condescending, and just a horrible attitude. I was beyond her scope of care and I guess she just couldn't admit that. She comes off very ditzy and just horrible bedside manner. No compassion at all. If you have a complicated health history don't even bother seeing her. She's a joke. I have since found another practice in the county that is much better and is actually equipped to handle the complexity of my health issues. I'm on disability and I should have never agreed to see her and should've requested an MD instead. Lesson learned. Do not go to her if you value your health, go elsewhere! I am seeing Parul Jani MD in Prince Frederick and she is vey thorough and wonderful bedside manner. read more

So I recently scheduled an appointment bc I was not feeling well and have been having heart palpitations and sweats like crazy so I went in for blood work to get a full blood panel done and when the results came back I had both an elevated calcium level and glucose level and also came back positive for alpha gal and they didn't feel the need to tell me instead they said your blood work was normal. In my opinion and a lot mpg my family members we have never had a good experience with anything to do with Calvert health and Calvert internal has been no different. loved my visit with the referring ! no complaints at all with her ! ck in was easy ,wait time reasonable time with the referring enough -to cover all important concerns of mine pre medical with I assume MA was rushed she seemed in a hurry not much eye contact I didn't feel she enjoyed being there -didn't feel connected with her or personable enough for a doctors visit - after my appointment with the doctor I was handed labs and orders with incorrect pt information didn't represent me but someone else - wow - it summed it up for me confirming the "rush" I was giving at the beginning of my visit if I hadn't looked at it - due to being in the medical field myself for almost 40 years - my instinct is always to ck myself and others - the vibe I was getting looking around waiting on my papers to be corrected couple smiling faces but nobody lifted their heads nobody has eye contact upbeat attitude which is sad People in their desk put their attention to phones and food which should not be aloud We are here to help serve and protect And do our humanly best to not make a mistake which could be costly Improvement are needed ! read more

do not go here. apparently they ask you random questions about your health and when one of your answers is outside of a normal visit they charge you extra. my yearly visit was no longer a "normal" visit because I said my shoulder hurt. so they billed my insurance company differently which prompted additional payment on my part. when I called the doctors office to inquire about the billing they just kept double talking. essentially telling me too bad so sad. read more

The reason for 1 star is you can't leave 0. I was a patient for many years and have seen a big decline since they built their own building. They want you to use portal, I did, what they didn't tell me that if you use portal you may get you medical information from a minimum wage employee that has no clue but will not forward the message to your provider. I have seen my provider go from someone I trust to someone who diagnoses by the insurance billing table. To put the icing on the cake, my first provider there was busted for drugs a few years ago for abusing his prescription pad. This doctor is now back at CIMG, nice ethics. read more

I was referred to see an endocrinologist at Calvert Internal Medical Group (CIMG) and I saw the nurse practitioner Mary Cho, she was nice but the reason for the two star rating is every time I call to make an appointment or leave a message, I get an answering machine, they all said to use the patient portal but it does not work on my phone. I tried to contact Dr. Cho to tell her my insurance does not cover the medicine she prescribed and only cover Tulicity and Ozemptic. I got a message back from Kimmie asking me if she should go ahead and prescribe the prescription and I called her back and twice once in the morning and once in the afternoon and both times got the answering machine and left a message, 3 days and no medicine? I am canceling my appointment and gonna see this doctor at the hospital with a 5 star rating on Google and yelp. read more

Dr fears and his employees were terrible to me. They don't care about their patients at all. Very rude and careless. They have multiple locations, and I was taken to their old address. I was lost, and waited on hold for 10 mins.. finally made it to the location and right when I was walking into the building they told me dr fears had left. Then I spoke to crystal who was HORRIBLE and RUDE and she did not care that I drove an hour to get here and was lost because of their addresses being wrong!!! I'm warning you, Do not go here. No patient care. My son has had abdominal pain for a week. The E.D. at calvert could not find his appendix so couldn't rule it out but said they didn't think it was it. I took him to calvert internal to try to get answers. They ordered more tests but could not get conclusive results. Called back and they told me he would not be seen for 2 months??? I needed to talk to dr we saw for referral. Well he's out today so they told me to wait 3 more days until he gets back. Seriously calvert is the worst for health care. Go out of county. I grew up going to Calvert Internal and they always were able to quickly diagnose me and fix any issues I was having. I don't have any complaints about the practice as a whole BUT some of the doctors they have there are awful in my book. So much so, that when I would schedule an appointment, I would make sure to say "I do no want Dr___ and Dr___ blank." Even if my limbs were falling off I wouldn't see Dr. Judge or Dr. Tardio. One time I had to go to see Calvert Orthopedics upstairs in the same building because I was having a back spasm so severe, my body was shaped like an "S' and I couldn't stand up straight. I went there as an emergency and they got me right in. Once there, they found I need a referral so they sent me to Calvert Internal, again as an emergency in order to get me the paperwork I needed. I was so desperate, I saw Dr. Judge. Big mistake! He is soooooo rude. I was about 20 when this happened and he bascially told me to suck it up and don't rely on drugs at a young age. He almost said I was faking it in order to get pain killers. I told him of my MRI findings and he basically said "that can't be true." I screamed at him to just give me the referral and stop being a pompus a**hole. He did. I have 4 massive disc herniations, a compressed sciatic nerve, chronic nerve pain, nerve damage and half of my left foot is completely numb due to another crushed nerve. She is always up on the newest technology and gives great advice for specific issues that I have. I have never had an endocrinologist who spends as much time understanding me as the field. Calvert internal is generally pretty good. I have been seeing Liz Bissett whom I believe to be a nurse practitioner. She's amazing. Always taking great care and doing the best she can to diagnose and make sure everything is well. She would see you for a scratch on your leg. Very personable. Dr Gallitin is also pretty good. However, I highly DO NOT recommend Amber Sisenstein. She has no respect for you or your time or your care. She doesn't want you listen or make sure you're okay. Plus, what job does she think she has wearing clothes like that???? Unprofessional. Very rude and very very very loud. I almost walked out. Does not let you explain what's going on or ask questions. Wait times are pretty reasonable! Nurses are decent as well, atleast in Prince Frederick office. read more

This place sucks. Some great doctors work at this practice. However, if you schedule a 'Same Day" appointment, don't expect to see anyone worth anything. My tongue was swollen with lesions all over. The doctor saw me and right away came to the conclusion that it was nothing he had seen and would not help. He referred me to an ORAL SURGEON??? So I went and scheduled my appointment. However, I had a gut feeling it did not make sense so I stopped by my DENTIST who then told me it was extremely concerning and began treating me for an allergic reaction. My Dr retired and recently I had an appointment with the Physician Assistant that he recommended. This young lady had a lot to learn about communicating better. I was very taken aback by her attire, a white, lace mini-skirt and very high heeled sandals. The staff at CMIG always takes pride in their appearance and I have to say that she is a mess. My PA retired in late spring. I have not had the need to make an appointment. To date, FIVE of my prescriptions have been canceled by my RX company due to lack of response from the office. The last two I just found out about today. I called the office to inquire about the first three. I was told they did not recwive any requests for me. I urged them to immediately send in my thyroid RX. I was assured it would be done that day....over two weeks ago. Still nothing. As of today, two more have been canceled. They are my cholesterol meds which I need. Why am I being neglected???? What has happened to the caring and professional practice I once knew? read more

Never even got in the door! I was referred to Dr. O'Keefe and when I called for an appointment I spoke to 2 different people, both rude. I was treated as though I was bothering them. With an order in hand for an ultrasound and biopsy I was told they needed to see my records before even being able to schedule an appointment. They needed to determine if I was worth seeing! She actually said that to me on the phone! I gave them my doctors contact info and they said they would reach out to get my records and would call me back. 15 days later I have not heard a peep. I checked with my Dr. and they have never received a call or request for records from Dr. O'Keefe's office. I wonder how long this would have dragged on? I guess I am just another sick person to them. No worry, no concern. But I am pretty sure that seeing sick people is their job...... Exceedingly disappointing. read more

I have been taking my elderly Mother in law to this practice for 2 years. On our first visit they claimed to have lost her blood work and asked that we come back in. Things over the 2 years after that went well. Last week we took her in and before going I reviewed her labs online with Labcorp to find that the Nurse Practioner failed to notice, notify or respond to her thyroid levels being outside of the acceptable norm. I discussed this with the Nurse and she agreed the medication should be lowered and should have been 4 months prior. While asking that the rest of her medication list be reviewed as she had lost lots of weight since all of them had been prescribed and I was worried that this might be causing her current complaint, I was snapped at by the Nurse. I was called a couple days after her appointment to be told that again her blood work wasn't handled properly and the lab refused to process it. Obviously at this point we need a change in providers so I requested to change to Dr. Barth as the errors as well as my Mother in laws current health status (stage 4 breast cancer with mets to the lung) in my opinion needed following by a Physician. I was also told the Practice Manager doesn't deal with these types of complaints. The clinical supervisor said she would ask Dr. Barth. I was called back 3 business days later and advised that Dr. Barth did not want to see her. I looked at their website hoping to get an email address for the Practice Manager but all I found was a lot of boasting on what a patient centered environment they have and I quote from their mission statement, " We will strive to give state-of-the-art medical care and outstanding service to all of our patients". Based on my experience I think not, actually its very cruel patient treatment in my opinion. I hope this serves as a warning that your health truly isn't their concern. read more
