Today, while waiting for an appointment with Patti, the front desk receptionist, Cherie (the woman…read morewith red hair), was very rude when I asked when I would be seen. I had been waiting for 30 minutes, which is unusual when seeing Patti. I happened to ask at the same time another patient was called back. Cherie responded, "They are being seen by Dr. Jani. When Patti gets a room, you will be called back." I said, "Oh, no, I was not asking because they went back. I was asking because I've been here for 30 minutes." I continued speaking calmly, even though she was being very dismissive and rude, seemingly so she could return to talking with her friend, who was another patient. She then said, "Like I said, they are seeing Dr. Jani. You will be called back when a room becomes available." I asked her, "Why do you keep talking about other patients? That is not why I asked when I would be able to go back." I have been a patient at this office for years, and I am familiar with how medical appointments work. There may be patients who are called back before me because they are seeing a different provider. That was not my reason for asking. When I walked away after her rude response, I saw Cherie look at me with annoyance. I told her that I hoped she would have a better day, and she said she was having a great day. I responded that it did not seem like it. When I sat down, an elderly woman next to me appeared shocked by Cherie's unprofessional behavior. When I was called back later, Cherie looked at me in a very mean and intimidating way, as though she wanted to fight me. She was squinting her eyes at me and making other intimidating facial expressions. While I was in the examination room, I overheard her speaking very loudly and openly about my patient status to another patient who appeared to be her friend. Cherie said that my chart showed I had previously been discharged, that Patti allowed me to return, and that everyone was now regretting it. Regardless of the truth of that claim, I hope Dr. Mehta and Associates take this matter seriously. Their front desk staff member openly discussed information from my medical chart with another patient, which may constitute a serious HIPAA privacy violation. Cherie's behavior today was unprovoked, unprofessional, and disgusting. She did not stop at simply being rude. She escalated the situation by attempting to intimidate me with her facial expressions. She then took matters much too far by loudly discussing private information from my chart with another patient. Cherie also disclosed information about another patient by stating who that patient's doctor was.

If it wasn't for the staff I would have gave 1 star, I called to get an appointment I was having…read moresome abdomen pain all weekend. I didn't want to goto the ER/ED unless it got worse because it cost so much money to goto the their, I can got the Dr for $25 get a CT scan for $65 and about $20 for blood work. The hospital would cost me about $1250+, you get a bill from the hospital for blood work, the room, facility charges and miscellaneous items. Then a bill from radiology and another bill from the ER/ED Dr, so that like 3-4 different bills to do the same thing. Now back to the Dr visit, I arrived at 11:35 checked in for my 12:00 appt. paid then waited in the waiting area until 12:20 Nurse called me we were walking to the room and she said the Dr. is backed up.... She was extremely friendly did her stuff and then say its going to be a while before he gets to you.. It was like 12:45 when Dr, Berg came in, now they want you to be there 20 min early but its ok to make you wait before they get to youth and if your 6 min late may as well stay home they wont see you and they will charge you. Dr Berg asked me what was wrong and I explained, he then asks me some questions. Do you need a rectal exam today? No I came in for my abdomen pain. Does it burn a little when you pee, sometime not a lot? Oh then we need to do a STD test, NO we don't I don't have a STD doc. Then a bunch of other questions about me hurting, he says well let me write up some paperwork for you. He's looking on the computer and asked me what do you want me to do, you can just go over to the hospital. I didn't want that I said because it cost to much money to goto the ED/ER, oh ya I agree he said let do some bloodwork and you can go get a CT scan. He asked if I have had contrast before yes I said the one they shoot in you while doing the scan. He got pissed because he was talking about the one you drink and now he has to write the script over, I said just leave it.. Then I asked if Dr. Lowenthal retired, he says I don't know he's not my dr. Im just trying to have a conversation.. Im going to steer clear of him everyone should, but all of the staff were friendly and helpful.

She comes off very ditzy and just horrible bedside manner. No compassion at all. If you have a complicated health history don't even bother seeing her. She's a joke. I have since found another practice in the county that is much better and is actually equipped to handle the complexity of my health issues. I'm on disability and I should have never agreed to see her and should've requested an MD instead. Lesson learned. Do not go to her if you value your health, go elsewhere! I am seeing Parul Jani MD in Prince Frederick and she is vey thorough and wonderful bedside manner.

I will never ever consult or recommend anyone to consult with Dolores Rhodes, Gastroenterology…read more Also upset with Dr Bright. My mother is 89 and developed an intestinal problem. She was diagnosed with a few minor issues but needed proper diagnosis. Was told to follow up with Rhodes. She met with family and said she would like to schedule testing and to get it on the books. Family was not happy with her snappy disposition and poor bedside mannerism. Scheduled the tests and received a call the same day that she will not see my mother. WTFUDGE? Requested Dr Bright instead and was told she will not treat my mother. Dr Rhodes called me due to my urgent request for answers, told me my mom has a liquid filtering problem (never told this before and it's inaccurate) and if they do find something serious do I want to put her through it. I told her I don't want my mom suffering and she must have a good quality of life. Instinct told me to not let this go..... Thus after several weeks of not feeling good about Dr Rhodes giving up on my mom, I was able to find a specialist that accepted my moms insurance. The new specialist immediately ordered tests and was extremely unhappy mom was blown off from Rhodes and Bright. Sadly, this process has been several months and yesterday a test was done and it's not good. I pray we caught the large tumor (suspected C type tumor) in time given what we have been through. We are seeing a surgeon this week! Note, mom is healthy and only takes one cholesterol pill and eye drops with supplements. No other problems-works out twice per week, independent, walks everywhere! It's beyond me why Rhodes didn't want to provide patient care except age. Will never ever go back to Rhodes and Bright. Done! Follow your instinct and if something isn't right, find someone else to help you.
