I will never ever consult or recommend anyone to consult with Dolores Rhodes, Gastroenterology…read more Also upset with Dr Bright. My mother is 89 and developed an intestinal problem. She was diagnosed with a few minor issues but needed proper diagnosis. Was told to follow up with Rhodes. She met with family and said she would like to schedule testing and to get it on the books. Family was not happy with her snappy disposition and poor bedside mannerism. Scheduled the tests and received a call the same day that she will not see my mother. WTFUDGE? Requested Dr Bright instead and was told she will not treat my mother. Dr Rhodes called me due to my urgent request for answers, told me my mom has a liquid filtering problem (never told this before and it's inaccurate) and if they do find something serious do I want to put her through it. I told her I don't want my mom suffering and she must have a good quality of life. Instinct told me to not let this go..... Thus after several weeks of not feeling good about Dr Rhodes giving up on my mom, I was able to find a specialist that accepted my moms insurance. The new specialist immediately ordered tests and was extremely unhappy mom was blown off from Rhodes and Bright. Sadly, this process has been several months and yesterday a test was done and it's not good. I pray we caught the large tumor (suspected C type tumor) in time given what we have been through. We are seeing a surgeon this week! Note, mom is healthy and only takes one cholesterol pill and eye drops with supplements. No other problems-works out twice per week, independent, walks everywhere! It's beyond me why Rhodes didn't want to provide patient care except age. Will never ever go back to Rhodes and Bright. Done! Follow your instinct and if something isn't right, find someone else to help you.

Dr. Peters is also very easy to talk to about embarrassing symptoms. I had been referred to him fresh off the heels of going to the ER before my diagnosis, it was a scary time. Had my first colonoscopy last year and it went so smooth. I see him a few times a year so we can adjust my medication accordingly. I will certainly be heartbroken when he stops practicing. This week, I was in a time crunch and had to be seen on his day off, was instead brought to a nurse for concerns of my flare symptoms. She was tense, rushed, short with me-- maybe I'm just spoiled from Dr. Peters or maybe they were just busy, but I didn't leave feeling good about my experience. From now on, I'll just make sure I can see him, for I definitely feel like I'm being taken care of.

Although dr. Velamati is a decent doctor (she used to be amazing) and np Karen prahler is…read morewonderful, the practice is corporate now and procedures are run like a cattle shoot. The prep is bad enough but first they require you to be an hour early and you are thrown into a room with lots of other miserable, hungry and thirsty people. Then you are finally called back to wait, papers to sign are thrust in your face and a nurse tries to start an iv. Last time the iv was so painful that I couldn't wait to be put under. Weird, since i am lucky and have great veins. Last time a nice nurse tried 3 times to get the iv right. She thought she had it but when I got back to the procedure room, the anesthesiologist said it was wrong and the mood in the room changed. He was angry that he had to do it. He clearly didn't want to be there. Dr V sat at her computer the entire time and barely acknowledged me. The team attending was rushed and started to put me under just as a mouth block was shoved in my mouth (endoscopy and colonosccopy). I could feel it was inserted incorrectly, but before I could say a word I was out. Three days later the teeth on the right side of my mouth began to fracture. I've lost two teeth, needing implants and crowns. None of it is covered by insurance and by the time the necessary dental work is completed it will cost about $15,000 dollars. A beloved dr and her practice has been turned into a profit making machine. I will probably keep working with the np but if I need a doctor or procedure I will go elsewhere.
