I read a couple of reviews about DCIM for how hard it is to get an appointment, and, personally, I can see why. I submitted an NP inquiry or intake form and was told that they are currently taking a limited number of patients, though due to unprecedented demand and our desire to maintain ample availability for follow up appointments, wait times for initial appointments are 2-3 months. So, what I'm understanding is that there is a review process of the intake form submitted, so I'll be waiting for some weeks to get word back as to whether I will be selected as a patient. And, I was told that If my issue is urgent that they recommend that I concurrently pursue my medical needs elsewhere. I just don't know about this process ... on the one hand, based on the good reviews that I read about DCIM, I'm really interested in what DCIM offers as a functional/integrative medicine provider offers, but (on the other hand) I don't like that I'm put on a wait list to see a doctor. I guess I shouldn't complain about this and just do as suggested, that is, go elsewhere for my medical needs ... I just don't know ... I'm on the fence with this ... I've checked out the reviews of other functional/integrative medicine providers and it appears that DCIM has the most positive reviews with the exception of about three negative reviews I read. So far I've only had a virtual consultation and first appointment but am pleased with the level of detail of the health history and knowledge and relatability of Dr G. I got recommendations for bloodwork and preliminary supplement prescription and diet/lifestyle recommendations after my first appointment and look forward to interpreting the results in my follow up a couple of months from now. The 5 star review is for my satisfaction with my appointments so far but it's hard to say at this point if the financial expense will be worth it. I cannot thank Dr. DSouza enough. I have spent the last 5 years visiting every doctor under the sun. I had no energy, constant GI distress, debilitating brain fog, and a whole host of other life-altering symptoms. Dr. Dsouza absolutely turned my life around! After seeing 5 gastroenterologist practices in DC and struggling with stomach "issues" for 5 years, I had somewhat given up trying to find a doctor to fix my problems. I was running on fumes when I found Dr. D'Souza and DCIM. Tired, run-down, low energy, dramatic hair loss, unable to sleep, couldn't lose weight--the list of my health concerns was lengthy.
