**FIRST REVIEW OF 2023**…read more Lol not sure why Yelp would remove my review especially as I'm a medical student at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine who has spent years at this institution. Sometimes the algorithm just does not make sense *shrugs* Anyway short and sweet yet useful-- Tribute to my medical school! MSU CHM in Grand Rapids is one of the two main campuses for their M1s and M2s spending most of their didactics at. The Secchia Center is the main building for this campus and is literally one big giant building with 8+ floors. There's a gorgeous rooftop with a great view of downtown GR that is open spring - fall with floors 1 - 3 hosting most of the classrooms and small group discussions. Floors 4+ has the anatomy lab and clinical simulation floors. The facilities are fairly new with durable, modern furniture of tables, chairs, etc. There's a small library/quiet room that is not used as much since there's so many great study rooms. It's directly connected with 25 and 35 Michigan Spectrum buildings with the first floor having a cafeteria of Qdoba, Starbucks, etc. Some options that are not hospital food. All the main faculty/staff have their offices floors 4+ but with the pandemic, one would check if the individual is in the office that day due to hybrid/remote working. The MSU CHM faculty/staff are wonderful teachers and are different leaders and educators in their own way. Although they are paid personnel, it's still a choice to teach medical students and for the most part, they are doing great conveying their wisdom and expertise to us students. There is security 24/7 on the first floor who often walk around. IT is also available during weekday regular hours but can also be reached by phone as well (shoutout to Jordan). Parking is through Spectrum since MSU does not own the parking lots attached to the building. Custodial team cleans the building and it's a nice, spacious quaint space that is ideal for students to learn in! There is no gym or food/drink options inside the Secchia building itself, but located in downtown and on Medical Mile, there are plenty of options else where. This ended up being a longer review than I thought! All in all, much love and respect to this building. Not every school facility is this nice and new and well-kept. Definitely grateful that I chose Grand Rapids as my campus! If Yelp deletes this review, then that's bonkers :|

Their campus and chapel are beautiful. Looking forward to spending more time there. The other reviews were off base in so many ways. College drivers it is similar in our town so more lights might be a great option for safer exiting. Adults not driving speed limit on highways either. Very challenging for new drivers. We all need to do our part to work together. Thank you Cornerstone for your strong moral compass.

Today was my first experience at this school, and unfortunately it was not a good one. I arrived…read morefor a manicure and pedicure with gel polish, but the front desk staff told me they could only do a "dry" application and could not soak my nails beforehand. I explained that I've had gel manicures and pedicures done for years at both salons and schools with full soaking included, but told them I was still willing to proceed. Instead of simply scheduling the service, an instructor was brought over who immediately seemed defensive and confrontational. She insisted that soaking nails before gel polish was not allowed in Michigan and gave questionable explanations about bacteria. She then refused to do my pedicure because I was wearing an aircast for a sprained ankle, despite the fact that it could easily be removed and I had no mobility issues. As a registered nurse, I understand my own limitations. The interaction became increasingly uncomfortable, so I chose to leave. I then went to The Salon Professional Academy, where I was treated professionally and respectfully. They provided a full manicure and pedicure, soaked my nails as part of the service, and completed everything without confrontation or unnecessary drama.

Not once did she ever greet me or my child during drop off/ pick up. The turnover rate in this facility is so high that week to week I never knew who was going to be caring for my child. This definitely raised some red flags for my family. There were several occasions I did not like the behavior of the teachers that I saw on camera, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. It does seem like the teachers are trying their best, but leadership starts at the top and if Maggie is their leader, I can see why the turnover rate is as high as it is. There is hardly any interaction between the teachers and children other than reading to them occasionally. I have heard this complaint from several other parents in passing during drop offs and pick ups. Ultimately we decided to pull our child from the daycare after securing childcare at a much higher rated facility in the city. In my time at this location, Maggie had sent out several requests for 5 star reviews of this facility. I would recommend instead of soliciting 5 star reviews, you listen to some constructive criticism from the current reviews you have on this page. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. Cheap childcare with terrible management. I would recommend looking anywhere else for childcare.

Well I have never felt so discriminated before from there, but today I felt like I was. They didn't want to give me a haircut and not explain on what I did was wrong. I feel the LGBTQ ‍ needs to touch some hearts on this matter. So gay,bi, trans, or lesbian people should feel welcomed in hair places. This is so very wrong and I'm really hurt by this. Spending an hour on its trails, I found the changing leaves beautiful, the trails still, and the reflective signs grounding. There are restrooms and a few small exhibits inside the main lodge. There is not enough space for the children to play outside and getting in and out of the parking lot creates massive headaches for anyone travelling down 3 Mile Rd. Class size is relatively large. Communication with parents isn't the best. It seems like there should be more information such as upcoming events or news on their website and there is precious little available. I couldn't check up on an event my children informed about and couldn't remember the details.
