Bethel certainly is. I wanted a church that has an active social justice ministry. Bethel has an active Social Justice Committee with activities that include a food pantry, a weekly Sunday dinner for the homeless, ESL classes, and more. I wanted a minister whose sermons and classes moved me, taught me, and challenged me to be a better Christian. David Randall-Bodman, Bethel's senior pastor does this for me. We have been to Christian schools in the past and the Bible was taught, but unfortunately the administration focused on keeping the families that had deep pockets happy even if it meant that teaching about Jesus was watered down to make them feel more comfortable. Valor is all about teaching the entire Bible and the love Jesus has for us all. The entire faculty have a huge heart for Jesus and all of their students. When we came to Valor, it was like being welcomed home after a long painful Odyssey. Jesus is definitely at work in this school!

She absolutely loves her class and says her teacher is the best teacher she has ever had. Of course, I had to share this with the school. Her writing and reading have increased exponentially. She has slightly more homework than her last school, and it requires a parent to be involved in the home learning process. They use classical education versus CORE or Beka, which is far more advanced, demanding, and structured. Grades are broken down into Pre-Grammar, Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. My daughter is in the pre-grammar stage. Then in 3rd grade she will enter Grammar. 5th, she will enter Logic, and I believe Rhetoric begins in 9th. Grades are broken down into stages. It seems difficult at first, but when you understand how it works, you will marvel. They begin Latin in 3rd and end in 8th I believe. Then they will touch on Greek in high school. They study the classics and will have strong presentation and debate skills by the time they depart for college. This is a K-12 school. I researched every public and private school, went to many many open houses, chose a charter school with one of the best reputations in town, before abandoning that dumpster fire after a single year. The coveted charter school was closed and barely functioning. Months went by. As working parents the situation felt completely chaotic. Enter Trinity, the principal was and is warm and welcoming in every interaction. The virtual learning was far more engaging and enriching the we could have ever imagined. Our daughter is glued to the class even via zoom which still astonishes me 3 months in. The school was able to safely, efficiently, and calmly (yes legally) incorporate in person learning sessions in small groups. They are on point and have quickly and efficiently risen to the occasion of educating during the pandemic. And to my original point, they are the most affordable private school in town and we wouldn't dream of taking our daughter anywhere else.

Initially, I put them in public school…read moreat Hayhurst, but after 1 month and volunteering in the classroom where there was 1 teacher for nearly 30 kids and she still didn't know their names, I realized that was not where they would thrive. I transferred them to PJA and it was the best thing for their education. Small class size, devoted teachers, plenty of assistants and extra help when needed and an extremely caring environment. PJA set them up for life!

The administrative staff is responsive and communicative to concerns, and very supportive. There is also meaningful financial aid, which made a huge difference for my family. My kid is ready for high school, and PJA laid that foundation.

I would be weary if you don't have a lot of time on your hands. Also if they tell you you'll get into a morning class from the waitlist it's a lie. They'll say just about anything to get you enrolled. That's my experience.

Our concerns were unwarranted and I cannot say enough positive things about our experiences over the past several months. The staff at Faith are fabulous.The staff all go out of their way to create a positive learning environment that strives to teach our children to become responsible citizens. They push him academically but do so in a spiritual, caring and attentive manner. The class sizes are small and foster a positive learning environment. There truly is a "Faith Family" feeling to all of our interactions with the school, both in and out of the classroom. We couldn't feel more welcome or blessed. Our son has made many friends and most importantly he comes home happy each and every day. We raved so much about our experiences that our dear friends are moving their daughter from a different Christian private high school to Faith in 2020-21. If you are looking for a Christian school you should consider Faith; I have no reservations in fully recommending them.

They expect them to finish "school work" and "assignments" even though they are pre-school and there are no true assignments for that age. (At least there shouldn't be) We had our child in first grade at the beginning of the year and removed him due to many blatant circumstances... one was due to a combined 1st and 2nd grade experience which he wasn't prepared for the combined learning and greatly divided attention based on acumen. They said they treat both separately but we were sent home with homework that was NOT for a first grader. This brings up a greater issue. We believe this school thinks of themselves as a higher/further educational school for bright children. They are not. They give work to children without the teaching/learning they need to actually accomplish the work. Unless you are the culture/lifestyle that also teaches your child at home, your child may be lost or left behind at this school. This has by far been the most "by the book/rules" "school" that I have seen for CHILDREN as young as three years old. Do we really think that three year olds should "finish their homework"? Do three year olds even need homework!? I believe enrolling my son in this school was one of the worst decisions I have made in my raising him to this date. He has been thriving and multitudes happier since attending public school I can't imagine why he hated this school so much.
