Everyday it was like I was walking him to prison (and he had been in daycares his whole little life, so it was not just separation anxiety). I observed, spied, discussed with his teacher and administrator with no results. Finally I took a chance and moved him to CMS. His first day showed a change in our lives immediately - he was happy and eager to see his new friends (and he did not want to go back)! This year is his "leadership year" as a kindergartener, and I could not be more thankful with how self-confident and joyful he has grown. I have grown much more comfortable getting my kids outside in most weather conditions with the right gear. So even when it is terribly cold out, all bundled up my son LOVES being outside at school. I love the mixture of learning with nature (he loves exploring) and typical educational things like letters and numbers. This is the church I enjoy to worship at while visiting my mom up in Camas, WA. I've attended…read moredaily Mass here a number of times and the Sunday 9:30am Mass. The most recent Sunday Mass that I attended was on 01/01/2012 (Solemnity of the Holy Mother of God). It was celebrated by a young priest. Most of the ordinary and propers were sang (yes!!!! :) ) and the choir is stationed in the choir loft (double yess!!) His homily provided a history of the Solemnity which was very appropriate (most New Year's Day masses I've attended mostly focus on the theme of new year's resolutions and not so much on the feast day itself). I would really like to attend their 11:00AM Sunday Mass next time - they have a schola that chants the ordinaries and propers in Latin. Their website (http://www.st-thomascamas.org/) offers some helpful catechesis. I believe they also have Perpetual Adoration In conclusion: if your heart is raised up to the LORD best through orthodox, solemn and contemplative liturgies, this is your place!
