The venture capital group has turned a once excellent hospital into a money-making sweatshop. The care provided is subpar, and some of the nurses are rude and ignore patients on purpose. The quality of care is worse than in some third-world countries I've visited. What used to be an amazing staff with several viable locations has now become a place of misdiagnoses and a shortage of doctors. Patients are assigned a nurse and are told they cannot see the supervising doctor. As a veteran with a disability, I was treated poorly, and they didn't even check my allergy list. You will wait for endless hours, only to be sent home with a bill. I strongly advise avoiding this place and its fake positive reviews. I filed formal complaints, but the hospital ignored them and sent me to collections. They are a scam, and it makes me sad because they used to be a great hospital system. read more

there's no pricing transparency when you use their services. i went there concerned about a bacterial infection. my time w/their doc was 5 minutes - no exageration. 2 weeks later i get their bill for almost $300. i would have shopped around to other urgent care facilities had i known this. pricing obfuscation seems to be their modus operandi. ugh, what a racket. read more

I was forwarded to the physical therapy team over at the CHA Assembly Square location by my orthopedic surgeon who worked on my shoulder. Having had no experience with physical therapy (this was my first major surgery) and the rehabilitation process, I walked in rather nervous and not knowing what to really expect. All I knew is that I could barely move my right arm, if at all, from all of the tightness caused by the lack of me using it after the surgery. It had been a full month since I had gone under the knife and was looking forward to getting my arm back and becoming more independent. Luckily for me the staff of physical therapists over at this very location were incredible: friendly, fun, knowledgable and professional. From the moment you walk in for a session, you check in at one of the two desks at the front and moments later, one of the physical therapists will come and get you and walk you to the workout area which is composed of a series of small and big rooms which feature all sorts of equipment. You have free weights, steps, weighted balls, resistance bands, pulley'd weight machines and all sorts of equipment to facilitate the process during the session while challenging the patients into getting a good workout and getting those muscles going. While the place is very clean and plenty of parking is available, the best part about the place is the atmosphere and the staff. It could make or break a place to have a bad staff there and this place has some of the best around. A quick glance at their resumes online can tell confirm this and they are always there to guide you, give you tips and even crack some jokes. They are a lot of fun but also extremely serious about their work; They'll tell you how to do things and show you, while meticulously updating your file with your progress and whatever else information as they track you from the moment you step in to even after you leave. Is it weird that I kind of miss my sessions over there? I want to give a shout-out to Darci, Danielle, Lyle, Nick and the two student-interns Matt and Tiff. Broken ankle recovery was definitely helped by the physical therapy here. I also go here for my xray/check ups, which is in a different section of the office. Everything always runs on schedule, when I've needed to change appointments for xray it has always been easy over the phone, and changing or scheduling new PT appointments is even easier with email directly to the physical therapist. It can be hectic in here sometimes, just lots of people in the lobby. I prefer morning appointments, it's usually pretty quiet at that time of day. read more

The staff here is all super friendly, and the therapists do a great job. They do have students working here as well, and it's a team environment so you won't necessarily be with the same person every time... that will just depend on your treatment plan. You can, however, ask to not be seen by a student if you're uncomfortable. (FYI, students are very knowledgeable at this stage of their studies, and they're overseen by someone else so it's not like you'd be with them solo, someone else is there very step of the way). I severely hurt my ankle playing soccer at the end of May and due to a few things going on, wasn't able to start receiving treatments until August. I told them my goals and we set my baseline measurements. Throughout my treatments there have been a few "check points" to see how much progress I'd made. The first check point, I really didn't think I had made much progress, but I was able to see from the baseline that I had, in fact, made improvements. Now, a few months later I can really tell a difference. I'm still not done with my treatments, but will be going into the office much less. As I said, the staff is really great and they want to work with you to make your treatment as successful as possible and help you reach your goals. If you're in need of some physical therapy treatments, I would recommend you give them a call to see if they work with your insurance. Some of the clients they see are "interesting" (to put it nicely) but the therapists are great... they even treat some professional athletes in the Boston area. read more

The receptionist who worked the front desk was kind of off-putting. Meaning she wasn't as pleasant as someone should be who works a front counter at a big medical facility. It was still early in the morning so she shouldn't have had been dehumanized yet.. that shouldn't have happened until after lunch so there's no excuse for her rudeness.. The doctor and nurses I saw were the stars of this show. Very helpful and courteous. Most doctors at other facilities I've been to are not pleasant and seem to be always in a rush to leave but the one I met here today was great.. took her time to tell me everything in regards to why I was there and the nurses were nice and jolly. read more

If you want to get your immigration physical done, go somewhere else. The staff missed part of the tests that were necessary. To their excuse the official requirement did change while they issued the paperwork. However it is their job to be up to date with the current state of things. Never mind because of that my case was significantly delayed, I was charged for additional testes, nobody apologized, and even after they received the new results it took them another week to issue the new document and of course I was charged again. I have had good experience with CHA otherwise but would strongly advise people in need of a physical for immigration to go anywhere else. read more

No no no. I love CHA and hate to rate them poorly. The therapist I saw was professional. But the appointment process and location - terrible. Was referred but couldn't book an eval appointment for almost two months, so I walked-in at their recommendation. Arrived before 9am, was told the next appointment was at 2pm (!). Why couldn't I just call?? Felt like a rehab factory, nothing sports medicine about the place. 30 min appointments for the same co-pay as my last PT provider where I was helped for over an hour. Location is awful for public transit- a long, long crutch from the orange line. Would not recommend. read more

First PT evaluation was around an hour, conducted by a physical therapist, I got quality one-on-one attention, and was satisfied with my service. Follow-up visit was with a kid, an assistant, who spoke to me for maybe 5 minutes while he attended 2-3 other people over the course of maybe 25 minutes. I later received a bill for $180 for the first appointment, and $250 for the second! As the other reviewer said, if you don't have to pay for it, check this place out, but if you have to pay for it, stay away! Terrible care at an absurd cost. read more

My husband has now gone to CHA at Assembly Sq twice. Both times after his knee replacement surgery. The physical therapists at this location are great! Very knowledgeable & professional; they also remembered him which was remarkable since the surgeries were 1-1/2 yrs apart and they must treat a LOT of people. We own our own business and it was imperative that my husband get back on his feet quickly; his recovery was super quick in very large part to the talented people at CHA. They know what they are doing & don't mess around. We would highly recommend them to anyone who needs PT for any reason. read more

I was refered to this physical therapy group for my knee. It was a very pleasant experience. I was evaluated by the group leader, Michele. She was very thorough and knowledgable. She planned my routine for 8 sessions and had Wing and Daniella help her with the routines during my visits. In addition to being well trained and as thorough as Michele herself in following the routine, Wing and Daniella were attentive and friendly as well. They were also very accommodative where appointments were concerned. I strongly recommend this group. read more

This review has to do with the great difficulty in reaching this facility by public transportation...not the fine people you encounter if you can get here ! If you drive a car, then you're golden...otherwise it is dreadful. The subway is 3/4 mile away...try getting to physical therapy on a cane, with a walker, or in a wheelchair ! read more

My 11 year old son was recently admitted to their psychiatric unit. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff was. They made an extremely difficult time for our family easier. More importantly they helped my son and made him feel comfortable while admitted their. I would highly recommend their child psychiatric dept. read more
