Once there, the kids love this place. There is a small under fives area, but I can't comment on this as my kids were older once we started going, but it looks very good. There is a height restriction of 152cm (approx. age 11). Most of the area is netted (to protect the kids), and there are lots of slides and things to climb on. My daughters particular favourite is the drop slide. This is only open at certain times (it has to be staffed), and you have to have long sleeves and long trousers (otherwise there is a risk of friction burns). There is plenty of seating for parents. I suggest taking a good book to read. The cafe is ok. They do hot food, snacks and various drinks.

Its very loud in here though as lots of happy screaming children so maybe take some ear plugs.

Once we were adrift, I had no idea even how to steer and resorted to asking other nearby punters for instructions. So after finally figuring out just enough to move down the canal, we came across some low hanging branches. While going under the branches, the pole became caught. Rather than letting it go (as I should have had I received proper instructions), I lost my balance trying to save the pole and took a plunge, with my iPhone in my pocket. It was pretty embarrassing as it was graduation week and bunch of people looking on. Fortunately it was easy enough to climb back on without tipping my family into the canal in the process and I managed to salvage a little dignity by punting around for another 20 minutes or so. But it certainly wouldn't be something I'd ever do again. So because of their utter lack of concern or care, I lost some dignity and the use of my iPhone for the rest of the trip, had to travel back to London completely soaking wet, have to fix or replace my phone. What else could I have asked for?

We hoped it would stop raining for a bit...and it did although we did still get soaked during most of our walk! Despite the rain, the waterlogged paths and the grey skies, we still had a pleasant walk. This park used to be an ironstone quarry, so there are pretty trails through the mixed woodland...with large peaks and troughs where people have dug up iron over the centuries. I really want to come back with my nephew and niece...they would love it! Other awesome-ness * We found some fake dinosaurs along one of the trail (!) * There is a railway museum (only open once a week on a Sunday, but apparently it's brilliant for train-loving kids) * There is a fun looking playground for kids, as well as rope bridges, zip lines and cargo nets for big kids * It costs £2.50 to park, but there is no entrance fee. If it is a rainy day, take some wellington boots and a rain coat...you'll love it.

Has some history if you like that, I'm guessing if you chose to come to Cambridge you probably do. It's pleasant. - for grass. If you're 'doing' parkers piece, come with all the info and a football. Expect it to last five mins, unless you want to frequent some of the eateries to the side (behind regents street), and get take out. - however there are better , nicer, more attractive (real) parks where you won't get a football in your face while picnicking.

Well when I got there I realised that you had to be a member or pay a pretty heft greens fee, well at least to a student it seemed hefty! Moving away from this minor issue, you can find yourself a beautiful golf course with a lovely members club, this is one of those real and true society locations.
