I love how kind and compassionate she and her staff are! A few years back our senior lab was diagnosed with cancer. It was devastating, as she was a beloved family member to us. It meant a lot to me that Dr. Cooper never pressured us in any of our decision making - she didn't urge us to pursue a certain treatment, and she assured us in what we did decide. It is so hard trying to make the best decisions for our pet's well being. I truly appreciated the way Dr. Cooper and her staff helped us through that time with our sweet Daisy. Currently we have a (crazy) older pup and Dr. Cooper and her staff are so wonderful and patient with handling her silly antics and goofy behavior. Vet prescribed a liquid compound of a common medication that is even prescribed for humans. My cat could not tolerate it. As it did not work for his condition, I agreed to start a different medication. Again the same vet prescribed a liquid form of a medication available in a capsule form, and charged $140 for the same medication that can be purchased at Chewy's for $56. When I picked up the second medication and realized it was liquid I spoke to the receptionist, who was rude and basically had the attitude of 'if you don't like our requirements go elsewhere'. So I did. Wasted over $300 at this practice, (with the office fees and medications). Found another practice that quickly stated all the medications can be ordered in pill/capsule forms and are available at multiple places. They did not require me to purchase their special liquid of anything.

I took my dog to another vet to seek surgery, but she was not interested because of his age and heart condition, and because this is a very risky procedure. Thank God for Dr. Jolie! After careful consultation with my dog's cardiologist, she removed the growth, and my dog is doing very well. She saw that he still had a lot of life left in him, and I appreciate her compassion, excellent skills and intimate care. She has treated three other pets of mine in the past and has always taken her time with each pet.

Absolutely horrific place and here's why I finally moved my animals out----…read more 1) 2 misdiagnosis on my dog's skin condition (and by two of the vets there) 2) very laid back attentiveness to my dog's collapsing trachea condition until finally she choked one night and they felt it necessary to finally start treating 3) 1 incorrectly written prescription ( and by which I mean wrong directions, missing strength, and product that doesn't exist int he form that the doc wrote for) 4)Not aggressive enough care on my cat as far as diabetic related conditions and overly aggressive insulin treatment which led to my cat having a diabetic stroke which led to her having to be put down 5) got a new rescue puppy and the two vets that saw him couldn't give me a straight answer as to how many more de-worming treatments he needed 6) SEVERAL and I mean SEVERAL incorrectly dispensed heart worm and flea medications that had to be brought back to have exchanged for correct product/animal/size of animal/age of animal (and here's the excuse I always get----'it was on the wrong section' always says the blond tech at the desk.....here's a solution----read the product information instead of assuming it's in the right place!) I've even got a current bottle of medication labeled up for the wrong puppy. Luckily I know who gets what. 7)they still can't figure out that the cat has been deceased even though we told them several times (always blaming it on the computer) 8) and did I mention you have to wait 20 minutes at the desk like a moron before your bill is ready................................. Here are the positives about this place..Dr. Linendoll who I believe is the owner of the practice really is a fabulous vet and the times we saw her she was spot on with everything, but in the last few years she's owned the practice, I can count on one hand how many times I've actually gotten to see her. So needless to say either she's not available or not there enough to see her only which would keep me there. Also, Marlene at the desk is quite good and very nice and typically gets everything right, but it's just not enough to keep me there with the rest of the subpar healthcare my pets receive and when their lives depend on these people, I had to make the right decision and move them out of there.

Dr. Ryan is the most incompetent veterinarian in Saratoga Springs…read more Last August our then 13 year old chow mix rescue started having severe urinary issues. She needed to go outside constantly. We had to leave our back door open at night so that I could sleep a few hours. This issue continued. I brought Sarah in to be seen at least once a month with the same symptoms never getting better. I expressed how worried that I was that she had a bladder tumor. I took videos of our girl pushing blankets and toy's between her legs. The video clearly showed how uncomfortable that she was. Her urinalysis always came back showing infection. Big red flag. Dr. Ryan said since there was no blood in her urine it was not cancer. Never once did she recommend an ultrasound or even an x ray. After 3 or 4 times seeing a vet for the same symptoms, especially when they were getting worse, a competent veterinarian would have suggested an ultrasound of some kind of imaging. I finally called her office and said that " she needs an ultrasound ". One week later we had an appointment for an ultrasound. The radiologist took Sarah back for the 20 minute exam. Five minutes later Sarah was back in the exam room. The radiologist was right behind her. He gave us the devastating news that my special girl had a large tumor in her bladder, it was inoperable, and it was pushing on her urethra making it very difficult to empty her bladder. Imagine going for more than 7 months with that kind of pressure on your bladder. Anyone that's ever had a bladder infection knows how painful and uncomfortable it is. We started treatment a few days later but it was too late. On April 15 2023 we had to rush our girl to UVS in Latham. She was very uncomfortable, had stopped eating, and was drooling. She died in my arms that morning. I am completely devastated over losing her in such a brutal way. Our girl suffered. There's no doubt about it. Two weeks later Dr. Ryan sent my husband and I an email titled " termination of professional services". She accused us of posting phony emails and social media reviews to her accounts. I haven't had FB since April 2020. I had every intention of going to a bigger and better practice after she failed to diagnose Sarah's cancer. She dismissed everything and every detail I talked to her about. Her exact words " let's not go searching for something we don't want to find". My Sarah's bladder could have ruptured had I not stepped in. Spring Family Vet is not a hospital. It's a clinic. The only reason she terminated us as clients is because I made an absolute fool of her. We followed our veterinarian Dr. Amy Bergin here from another practice. I should have considered it a big red flag when Dr. Bergin left this practice in less than a year of being there. Dr. Bergin would have immediately suggested an ultrasound for our Sarah had she still been there when these symptoms started. I knew my sweet girl had something very serious going on. Please advocate for your animal companion. Trust your gut. We have filed a complaint with the NYS Department of education for professional misconduct against Dr. Ryan. No other animal companion or their human should ever have to suffer from her incompetence. She is not a strong enough veterinarian to have her own practice. She pushes this ridiculous " fear free " baloney! Let's face it ! A veterinary clinic could be built out of steak bones and most dogs will be very scared and stressed when they come in. She should be working under the supervision of a much stronger vet. This is the most devastating loss I've ever experienced with one of my beloved dogs. Gina Burns

She spent the whole weekend (minus an hour here and there) at our home with our dogs. She took them on walks, followed all of my instructions and took great care of them. Her communication with me throughout the weekend was excellent- sending me updates and pictures every few hours or so. Our home was exactly as we left it- with 2 very happy dogs.
