Decent mall but definitely one more typical of the 'burbs instead of the city. I go here for a few reasons... #1 - Sephora #2 - Cheap parking and accessability. This mall is located by the Charles river in Cambridge, sort of between Lechmere station (green line) and MIT/Kendall station (red line). The mall is medium size (3 levels), and has the basic stores, though nothing super high-end. It's not really a place I would come to hang out with friends, but I do occasionally stop by to pick up some things like electronics from Best Buy or Apple, or if I need clothes in a pinch. The food court area is pretty nice, and the outdoor area has a giant fountain with plenty of seating surrounding it, so I imagine it'd be nice to sit there and eat while watching the water. read more

As malls go you get what you would expect here: THOUSANDS of teenagers. Occasional stabbings/shootings. Taco Bell The Gap They also have an Apple store and Best Buy. That almost makes it worth coming here. It would be better if Apple had an entrance that was outside too so you don't have to wade through the high schoolers to get there. :'( The H&M is only for women and that sucks (for me at least) and the Macy*s is...Macy*s so all-in-all this mall is nothing terribly special. It's handy for what it is, need something from a massive chain store you can find anywhere else? Done. Need to hit several chains all at once? Done. I feel like the Galleria has gone downhill in the past few years. I remember when everyone used to come to this mall and just hang out if they weren't even buying anything. Now it's just blah! I mean I will go every once in awhile on a random spurt, but other than that I don't find myself there too often. Getting to the mall is sort of a hassle as is with the shuttle and the green line. Now that there is construction of the green line it's that much more of a pain to get to with the shuttle buses from north station and such. The food court is good of course Taco Bell, BK, and the Japanese spot being the main places people eat. When I do go there though I spend most of my time hiding from the annoying sales people at the kiosks that take up most of the walkiing space. All in all when it's not crowded it is a nice experience. read more

It's a Simon Mall, and it's a big one. I've been going to the Cambridgeside Galleria for about a decade because it's one of the few jumbo-malls in the Boston metro area that has everything I need - Best Buy, H&M, Game Stop, TJ Maxx, Old Navy, etc. I'm looking the new Newbury Comics opening up near the food court soon, which will just top off the convenience of the place. But, again, it's a mall, and a huge one at that. No mall will ever get over 3 stars from me until they enforce a "no teenagers without parental supervision" rule in malls. read more

I went there 2 years ago and will never go back. It's a ghetto crowded mall filled with ignorant trashy people. It's like a Walmart on steroids! This mall always kinda depresses me when I come here, but it's got a lot of stores (e.g., Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, H&M, Aerie, Sephora, Apple, J. Crew, etc.--there are certainly many more, but these are the only ones of real interest to me), which is nice. It's a one stop shop, and it's got a lot of different restaurants attached (P.F. Chang's, CPK, Cheesecake Factory), which makes it all the more convenient. But if you do end up eating here, make sure to get your parking ticket validated because it's pretty pricey otherwise. Another high school school hangout ..ahh the days when I used to take the E line to Lechmere and cross into the ghetto court yard with the awkward looking water fountain spray thing and the evil looking face statues... this mall is kind of annoying. u have to PAY for parking which used to be like 3 bucks for a couple of hours, but they increased it and now when u park over 3 hrs it's like 7-10 bucks to park there. The garage smells, the escalators are annoying, and there really aren't a lot of stores here. I'm usually done in an hr. the only place I like, and like is a strong word is Border's. It's got mags, books, a cafe that serves my unsweetened iced tea in my back and I have the true crime section all to myself...*muhahahhahahahaha* you've got your typical mall fixtures like express, bath n body works, victoria's secret, old navy, aldo, etc, but all unimpressive. The filene's/macy's here is one of the worst. I never find anything and the layout is weird. the foodcourt will give u a stomache ache afterwards, so just eat air. and drink lots of water and iced tea. The punks at the ice cream stand are too busy checkin' out underage mall rats so pass on the fro-YO-girl-LET-ME-HOLLAH-at-U. i'm thirsty i'm tired and the last thing I want to deal with is a high schooler who can't keep it in his pants. grrr. you've got cheesecake factory in the back..which i HATE, so go across to california pizza kitchen where there is never a wait and their pita hummus appetizer is good :) mmm they have unsweetened iced tea too. i'm not obsessed. read more

I like this mall a lot. It is huge though, so you have to be ready and willing to truck it around here! There is 3 levels. A lot of women and children stores. Main large stores are Macy's, Sears, H&M, and Old Navy. There are a lot of food options in the food court plus 3 major restaurants. California Pizza Kitchen, P.F. Chang's, and Cheesecake Factory. I normally take the shuttle from the Red line subway to the mall. Yesterday, I walked to the Lechmere station from there and it was not a bad walk at all. There's a nice little park area and big fountain right outside the food court. read more

I don't know how to rate Cambridgeside. I like that it's convenient to the T (Lechmere or Kendall, the latter being for those who like a little trek or like shuttle buses). I also appreciate that there's stuff here that I can afford. Also the Banana Republic here usually has decent sales. At the same time, the food court is a bit uneventful, the Macy's is split into two separate stores (the regular one and the Home one), and most of the stores aren't my cup of tea. Entering from the Food Court makes you think you've stepped into a horribly overdone 80's throwback music video. The weird neon lights are jarring and make one feel incredibly uneasy. And that's even before eating the cheap Chinese food! It's hard finding a map when you need it here. Expect a few department stores and a lot of fillers. read more

I'm a fan. At first I thought there was no such thing as mid-range shopping in the Boston area--nothing between say, Marshalls and Newbury Street. Cambridgeside Galleria has a good selection of shops and a lot of shops. It's an attractively designed mall that makes sense. The restrooms are easy to find and fairly clean for the volume of traffic. The food court wasn't bad--I tried the Indian place. The crowd--a vibrant multitude for sure with many kids present.It's on the water so you can eat your lunch outside and have a scenic view. And I love that it is right by the Lechmere t-stop. it's an ok place. got almost everything you need in one place. plenty of brand name shops, CVS, electronics, dept stores, food court and an outdoor garden right next to it! the parking rate used to be pretty ideal, some $3(?) for the night or $5 for weekend, if you plan on staying for long, really going shopping or having a nice meal. but if you want to just go get one thing and leave, i would've gone elsewhere. finding street parking around the area really depends on your luck (or you can park 3-4 blocks away where the streets are dark and nobody walking on them), or pay the $4 for the first hour (or something like that) in their garage--which you may spend most of that hour looking for a space, depending on what time/day you go. other than the parking situation (which is horrendous all over cambridge), it's a pretty good mall. read more

Mall lite. Not as intense or as populated as Copley/Prudential (nor as nice), and, in a rare move for a mall, Cambridgeside actually has natural light (this, I hypothesize, is to counteract the toxic air they pump in which deadens the brain immediately upon arrival). Cambridgeside has all the big chains that malls have - J. Crew, Banana, Gap, Abercrombie, etc. and, like most malls, reinacts social stratification through the placement of shops. It also has a mediocre food court with Au Bon Pain, and other assorted greasy spoons. The best thing about Cambridgeside, aside from the aforementioned natural light, is the easy parking. Anyone who has gone to a mall in this town knows that negotiating the parking can make anyone crazy. It seems every mall was constructed before the American population decided the very best thing is to purchase the very biggest car (ok, truck) imaginable. But at Cambridgeside, I can happily and easily find a spot for my car (not SUV) and it seems that 4 door sedans happily frolick among Chevy Tahoes and Escalades. Otherwise, it's a mall. read more

Without a car, the shopping options are pretty few (Can't really get to Natick Collection or the Burlington Mall via the T). So, I use the Cambridgeside Galleria to get my shop on. It is a pretty standard mall, on 3 floors with a food court. Granted it is a bit sketchy with all the gangs of kids, but when I am looking for a dress for a wedding, or the latest fall fashions, I hit this place up. Ann Taylor, Express, NY & Co (the only one in the area), Banana, and Steve Madden all in one place? Add a Sears (don't knock it), Macy's, and White House Black Market and I'm pretty much set. There are also electronics stores (Best Buy and Apple), tons of shoes stores, and the accessories stores. I usually always find what I need here, so there really is no reason to go elsewhere for me. I try to avoid being there too late, as I don't feel the walk to the T is all that safe, but the Lechmere line is not too far. It's also close to Helmand and The Similians, if you aren't feeling the food court. I love this food court. I am a big Taco Bell fan so I always stop for a meal here. There are the standard options: pizza, chinese, sushi, indian and a stir fry place, as well as a BK. There are 2 sit-down restaurants: CPK and Cheesecake, although the line is ridiculous. I guess growing up in the 'burbs leaves me hoping for more with the Cambridgeside Galleria. The name makes it sound fancy and awesome when really it's pretty subpar. The Cambridgeside's major issue is that it is a standard, run of the mill mall trying to fool people into thinking it's classy and upscale. The Natick Collection, you are not. There are few stores that I'm interested in roaming about in and the several mutations of American Eagle leave me wanting more. Cambridgeside Galleria is a nice mall, in that it has a decent selection of typical mall stores and a reasonable food court (though I have to say, when the thai food looks like the bbq looks like the chinese food, something's not right). It's kind of cramped, but upper floors seem more spacious. Not too big of a mall either, and conveniently located in Cambridge. On a nice day, it's fun to go out back and have lunch in front of the little channel that leads to the Charles. Crowded? Yeah, but find me a good mall that isn't. And with a Best Buy, a Borders, an Apple store, and an H&M (albeit with an anemic men's department), I can easily spend lots of time there. read more

Cambridgeside Galleria has its own parking garage. Its prices are competitive with other garages in the area. It also shares part of its garage during inclement weather with its fellow Cambridge residents as well as with the hotel next door- Hotel Marlowe. Galleria Mall is not for the fancy folk. It has basic stores like VS, Apple, Sephora, Best Buy, Sears, Macy's, etc. it also houses an even more basic food court. I like this mall for its basic-ness and accessibility (who can go to Northshore Mall or Natick when you have NO vehicle, but public transport?) while in the city. read more

This is a very cool mall. The wings to the mall are pretty small but it also has a third floor so that really does make up for that. They have Sears, Macy's and TJ Maxx for department stores and then they have most of the smaller chain stores that you will find in just about every mall such as Sephora, Victoria's Secret, Express, Banana Republic and such. I also like that this mall has a CVS because most of the malls that I go to these days don't have that store and I like to have a CVS in a mall. They have a great food court with plenty of seating and many options such as Chicken Now and Panda Express. The parking isn't the greatest but if you take the Red Line to Kendall Square/MIT you can hop on a free shuttle van that the mall has to get people to the mall and it will bring you right to the front door of the mall. Just make sure on your return trip you get back to the pickup spot before 8 PM because that's when they stop running the shuttle service. In the back of the mall outside the food court you'll find a great little walking area and a big fountain which is pretty nice. They have a Cheesecake Factory and PF Chang's if you're looking for a dining experience other than the food court. They are doing some renovations there so some of the escalators are out of service for now but there is a whole other set of escalators at the opposite side of the mall. I heard that the renovations should be done by the end of September so it won't be much longer. Overall I had a nice experience and I will definitely go back in the next week or two. read more

This place is fine. It's a mall, and malls (the decent to good ones at least) tend to be pretty uniform and dependable if they're doing it right. There is nothing terribly unique about this mall and I'm pretty much okay with that. The Cambridgeside Galleria is clean enough, I can get there easily from work (Redline to Kendall Sq. and 10 minute walk) or from home (87 or 88 Bus to Lechmere and 5 minute walk), and if I'm panicking because I need a new outfit for a dinner out and only have an hour on a Thursday night to find one they have a decent enough selection that I know I'll walk out with something in hand. This is enough to keep me coming back. The Macy's here isn't a great one, which is my only real complaint. It would be nice to have access to a decent department store in Cambridge, but for now I'll continue to make the trek to Downtown Crossing when I need to. read more

It's not a terrific mall. But, it's dangerously close to work, so it's the mall I find myself at most frequently. In a bind, it has regular mall stores you may need like a Best Buy, RMV, CVS, a big H&M, J. Crew, Club Monaco, Banana, Sears (really? yea they still exist), Macy's, huge Borders, etc. Parking is a bitch. Food court has the staples plus a salad place and an ABP. To the rear, there is outdoor seating and a big pond for a lazy afternoon stroll if you are so inclined. Then it's just a quick walk to the river, so you can salvage an afternoon with a mall trip and some time outside. read more

Although this mall isn't at the top of my list, it definitely has the stores you need to kill some time while waiting to do other things. perhaps you want to wander into the Apple store and mess around with things you can't afford or go have some coffee at Borders and read a book or mosey into Best Buy and sit on one of their comfy couches. What can I say about the CambridgeSide Galleria? I've lived and/or worked near this mall for over 10 years. So I've had a love/hate relationship with it. I LOVE .. 1. That it has a Best Buy, an Apple Store, AND a Cheesecake Factory - 'nuff said 3. That it's on the T - Yes. Its one of the few malls that is located on the T. Its also the only mall that is on the T that offers many stores you'd find at suburban malls. 4. That it's "on the way home" for many of us who live and/or work in the area, it's also close by, either by car, the t, or walking. 5. The Parking - Where else in Boston can you park in a secure, covered garage, near the T, all day on the weekend for 3.99? The weekday rates aren't too bad either.. 6. The Selection - As I said above this mall has a good mix of stores, the mall management has a good sense on what stores to attract to the mall, and getting vacancies filled. (Although, I am sure any retailer would jump to be in this mall, considering the sheer volume that the stores get here, it's just that busy) 7. The Food Court. The food court has an awesome mix of stores, some fast food, some mid-range, and some healthy choices. You won't leave the food court wanting to go somewhere else because they didn't have something you like.. I DISLIKE.... 1. The Crowds - This mall can be a zoo on the weekends, and all the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. 2. The selection - Not so much about the store selection, but stock levels inside stores. I've often gone in to many stores and not gotten what I wanted because they were sold out. However, I don't totally fault the store, because of sheer volume these stores do, it would be hard to know/keep stuff in stock. 3. The Patrons - Yes I've said it. Some of the patrons of this mall can get annoying. Since it's on the T, and close to the city. EVERYONE comes here. I've seen tour buses of people being dropped off here JUST to shop. So it can be a wide variety of people who are here shopping. Overall I like the CambridgeSide Galleria, between the mix of shops, amenities, and its close to the T. And considering I work nearby, I'm sure I'll be back there very soon! read more

I live maybe one mile away from this mall and had never been to it until today. I had been avoiding it because the yelp reviews are not great and the parking is a rip off. I had a return at sketchers so I had no choice but to come here. I was able to avoid the absurd parking fee by finding free street parking. I was expecting a ghetto looking mall because the store directory did not look interesting. I was pleasantly surprised that the mall is not bad looking and actually has a nice fountain outside. I went on a Monday afternoon and the mall was packed with people. The quality of shops is just ok. I appreciate that they have pacsun and call it spring. I'm not a big h and m fan but they had a pretty large one. The food court did not look appealing except for dunkin donuts. I did like that the mall did not smell bad. The tj maxx here is a good one. I found the shops to be far from high end but that's not my style anyway. I would go back on a rainy day if I could find free parking. Maybe I was impressed by the mall because I had low expectations. read more

I don't have much to say about the mall itself, which has a decent selection of stores that nonetheless almost never seem to have anything I find wearable, but the free wireless internet SUCKS! I've never tried using it before, despite the ads on every table proclaiming its wonderful free wirelessness, but tonight I lugged my computer over and gave it a try. Forty-five minutes later? After registering, connecting, disconnecting, spending forever in loading/error message/server timed out hell, spending 15 (daytime!) minutes either on hold or talking to tech support (who got me connected for a grand total of 30 seconds before the connection crapped out again), and even trying to use the Thai restaurant's network, I ended up getting to read half an email. And then I left. I'm guessing no one ever even tries to use it, because if enough people tried (and failed) maybe the mall would have some idea it blows, and stop advertising it. Maybe this was a fluke, but I'm inclined to think not. read more

This place has all the basics and a very reasonable parking rate. It can get really crowded on weekends, but what mall doesn't? I've only been here once since I originally from the South Shore and I liked it. They have a good variety of stores. I basically only went there to go to VS and the staff in that store were very polite. The only issue I had was parking in the garage. While the parking prices are decent I got all confused on where I parked and how to get back to the Best Buy entrance I walked in from. Other then at I had a good experience shopping here and cant wait to go back again. read more

I have to be honest and say the only reason I've been going to this mall is because they have a Bank of America in it. An actual bank. It's a clean looking mall, but the shops are very boring. No Nordstrom, and paid parking are both negatives for this mall. There is two hours parking spaces on the outside of the mall, but then you must be looking at your watch the whole time. read more
