Another huge benefit of going here is the one-on-one attention. I have not been to a PT where the actual PT works with you in years. Here you are not off-loaded onto a "technician" to go through your exercises. The PT works with you for a dedicated hour. You are certain to have great results like I did!

The experience bordered on harassment, and I've never encountered anything this awful before. I had to pay it or they would send me to collections. Their billing department is very aggressive. I was under the knife, in the recovery room, and on my way home from surgery in 2 hours. J had called Lucero's office 2 hours after we had gotten home because I had noticed blood coming from the top of my dressing. Lucero told him that drainage was to be expected, and that it could be light pink in color. This is even though J mentioned that what we were seeing was red red...not light pink and that the whole dressing felt completely wet against my skin. Yes, I was drugged...but I knew something didn't feel right with the bandages. Lucero told J to have me come into the office the next day to have the dressing changed. He's the doctor, so we thought that we were worrying over nothing. Hours later, in the middle of the night, J ended up having to rush me to the ER for an arterial bleed. Finding me pale as a ghost, with blood all over the living room floor I imagine was not what J was expecting discover when I called out his name early that morning. According to the doctor at Good Sam, a branch artery was weakened/nicked during surgery. This was a simple "routine surgery" that was not so routine. More like rushed. To top it all off, I'm still experiencing pain and swelling...even with going to PT. After the baby is born, I'll be going back to see an Orthopaedic surgeon. Will it be Lucero? F- NO!

She gave me incremental exercises that led to not just a full recovery, but strength, range of motion, and flexibility that I had not had before my injury. Sevaughn, her therapy assistant is also amazing with an encouraging very professional attitude dove tailed with attention to detail, fine tuning the subtleties of each assigned exercise to give maximum benefit. The physical improvement was coupled with a sense of caring and consistent compassion. I saw it with all their clients. It gave me a profound sense of comparison to the very impersonal and uncaring attitude of the PT site I had been released from. And, finally I want to express my sincere appreciation to the welcoming reception staff greeting each person by first name. They were immensely helpful and their phone calls were very kind and courteous. I then proceeded to attend 8 more sessions and was NEVER EVER EVER EVER ASKED FOR A CO-PAY any of those times. As a 19 year old guy that has never had to really deal with medical co-pays or payments I had no idea it would be $50 every time I came! After almost 2 years of NOTHING from them. I was sent to collection for a bill of $540! INSANE! ESPECIALLY IN A TIME WHERE A PANDEMIC HAS HIT AND I HAD BEEN UNEMPLOYED FOR OVER A YEAR! They said they talked to me and sent me statements. I never saw even one. I just paid my $540 in collections today because I am a good person. (JUST AN FYI, 50x8 is 400, not 540) so now I'm stuck paying even more. He performed his examination on my knee and ankle as if I was a piece of plastic & had no pain. Winters never asked what difficulties I had been experiencing. He asked me to lay down on the examination table & my knee automatically jerked. Dr. Winter asked me if I was able to straighten my leg when I laid down &I told him I need to use a pillow under my knee to prevent it from hurting & jerking at times. Winters said nothing and proceeded with his exam, roughly twisting the bottom of my leg (knee down) like a wind up to. Winters was extremely unkind, uncaring & rough. Dr Winters was paid a pretty penny to state that I do not need surgery on my "complete torn tendon" in my right ankle and torn meniscus. Winters was shown pics of me at the gym working out. All work outs were within PT's parameters. WARNING!

He is involved in his practice, I am surprised when I call sometimes and he answers the phone. He reads your medical history and any reports from other doctors you see and explains things to you. He goes over my blood tests in depth with me so I understand them. The only downsides are that he's about an hour drive each way for me and the wait can sometimes be long because he is giving his other patients the time and care that you will receive when it's your turn. I can't say enough about what a good, kind, caring doctor he is! Highly recommend!
