Other features include a large covered porch w rocking chairs, comfortable king bed w a soft mattress (I'm used to an expensive Tempur-pedic mattress and hard to please). Breakfast was a highlight, made on site by a talented chef. Spanish fritata, scrambled eggs, cheese grits, homemade muffins, scones, & pastries, biscuits & gravy, waffles, peach cobbler. It was all so good. They do weddings here and the garden area is scenic and shady w water features and a bridge. There are several backdrops to say your vows, a soft, manicured lawn and covered and/or indoor space for a reception. I booked this for a romantic weekend getaway and my wife kept saying how nice of a place I picked. Also, there are several roaming cats that belong here who are very friendly. Every staff member including KK that served breakfast to the maintenance staff and the housekeeping staff was pleasantly kind and friendly (I wish I knew all of their names because they definitely deserve recognition). The hotel was always clean and well maintained. Airline pilots and business people were seen coming in and out of the hotel. Patients and their families were also a large portion of their guests. I highly recommend this hotel, if even for a night away from the stresses of life.
