I have what is called precipitous births, which means my labor and births are extremely fast. We were not prepared for such a quick birthing process with our first child, which happened in the middle of the night, so the photographer I hired didn't make it. I wasn't going to make the same mistake again, so I called the photographer as I headed to the hospital. She had just left town for a family reunion. I was sad to say the least. She offered to try to find someone, which made me happy but not really hopeful that someone would make it. I was already in the birthing tub when Lindsey got to the hospital. She walked in and went to work. I honestly didn't even notice her until after I had my baby in my arms. We obviously didn't have any time beforehand to talk about what I wanted, and yet every image that she captured was amazing and I felt extremely comfortable showing them to my family and friends. I absolute love my birth photos and I'm so thankful to her for making the drive from Lehi up to the U for a client that she had never even spoken to. She has a life long fan!!!

When my grandmother passed away this year, my family was able to get together with everyone in the…read moresame location for the first time in several years. We wanted to get a family portrait, since it had been twelve years since the last one had been taken. We chose Mar Del to document the occasion, and the portraits we received are the best we have ever owned and worth every penny. We purchased several sizes and poses and displayed them in our home. There is never a visitor in our home who does not compliment the portraits. The quality of the prints far surpass any previous portraits we have gotten. Also, the customer service was better than what I could ask from a business. We got stuck in the snow and were going to be late for our appointment by at least two hours. Jerry rearranged his schedule so that we could still have our pictures taken, since this was the only day and time the whole family could make it. Once we finally made it to the location, all the children were cranky and unwilling to listen to parents. Jerry was funny and personable and somehow had the ability to make them all smile so that our pictures turned out great. We will definitely be returning to Mar Del for future portraits, to include senior pictures and weddings for our three girls.

This is the second NGPA I have gone on (Costa Rica was the first) and this one did not disappoint!…read more We did 2 sunrise shoots from the back country for one and from a public access point without a single other person there besides our group. The colors are staggering and the guides Neil works with are top notch. We had Navajo guides who were more than willing to play 20 questions (multiple times a day!) and were photographers themselves so took us specifically to places that were good shots. We met Navajo elders and we had Navajo dancers at John Ford Point which made for outstanding pictures. We did sunset shoots and an astrophotography shoot. From 2 full days I have over 1000 pics to go through. Neil is patient and tolerant and makes sure everyone knows how to get the best shot by helping with camera settings and positioning. He knows every camera in the business and was able to navigate multiple models/makes through deep menus to unlock important features. I cannot say enough about how effective these trips are at helping me be a better photographer and to see and learn about a wide variety of things I would not normally have access to. I absolutely will be going on more Great Adventures (including upcoming Iceland) and strive to be an "irritating travel companion" (that is, someone who is a photographer and can't pass up a shot). Really upset this morning when I went to drop my kiddo off at summer camp to find the lights off…read moreand doors locked. They didn't bother notifying any parents that they cancelled camps. There were several of us waiting. They did this one week last year but at least I got a phone call the Friday before. Really upsetting when you work or have appointments scheduled around camps to keep your kid busy while you handle life.
