Camille has massaged away many of my aches and pains over the last year and a half. As a competitive bicycle racer, my training takes a heavy toll on my body, and she's been very helpful in getting my muscles back to working order. In addition to being a stellar sports massage therapist, Camille has great bedside manners. She's funny, interesting, and has such a clear passion for her work.
A cool thing happened last spring. I'd been getting massages from her for a while at that point, and I needed her to work on some very sore abdominal muscles. She was working away when she found a lumpy spot that hurt to be poked. It was very much not a sore-muscle kind of hurt. I'd never noticed it before, but she was concerned and told me monitor it. Two weeks later when she was working on me, it was worse, but it still wasn't at the point where it was bothering me unless it was getting poked. On her recommendation, I went to my doctor and started the process of getting it diagnosed. A month after she first found the spot, my GI tract started acting up, and a month after that I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. The spot that she found was a clump of four ulcers at the end of my small intestines. If she hadn't been curious about my bodily anomalies, I wouldn't have started the process early enough, my guts would have gotten worse before I got on a medication, and my summer would have sucked so much more than it did.
I am, by no means, saying, "Go to Camille; she'll diagnose your ailments." She's just a really great therapist who is personally invested in her clients and, with me, she was aware enough to notice when something wasn't right. And I'm a fan of that. read more
