Very unprofessional staff, and receptionist! I had been waiting a very long time for a medical clearance for my patient. I was able to receive one verbally by the nurse or medical assistant, just to be told that I shouldn't expect a written one right away! Camille Goff is the most amazing pcp ever. Two years ago she saved my life when she checked my labs at 9pm during the Astro's playoff game. She found which ER had the medicine I needed and called ahead and had them ready and waiting. It literally saved my life. Today, it's Sunday afternoon Memorial day weekend. I have an ear infection and she just called to be sure the medicine was working. She is proactive and encourages you to make good choices. She is the best doctor ever. I made an appointment to see Dr. Goff as she came highly referred. I made an appointment a week in advance and gave my insurance information. I called today see if I could come a little early to my appointment and the front desk receptionist said she had never heard of me. I grew a little concerned about having giving my information over the phone last week and she told me to try a different doctor and hung up. Dr. Goff is a great Doctor. She is professional and what I like about her the most is that she calls you personally to give you the results of any test you did and to check on you to see how you are doing. Not a lot of doctors do that. I went to see her because she was close to my job and she is an in-network doctor with my insurance. I had bone pain all over my body and I had a fever so I wanted to see her and see what I have and what's wrong with me. The only thing I don't like is that you have to wait a long time to see her. The wait is almost an hour long. But it's good that she spends all the time she needs with her patients. She took blood, x rays everything and it turns out that I had a sinus infection yuck. Weird but I got prescribed antibiotics and case resolved. She is a wonderful doctor I recommend her to anyone. She specializes in sports medicine. read more

I will start off by saying Dr. Goff is an AMAZING doctor. She is straight to the point, professional while having a fiery personality that makes her seem real, and more like a friend who cares over someone looking at you like a paycheck. She personally checks in on you and diagnoses with extreme accuracy. Dr. Goff is, without a doubt, one of the best doctors in the area, if not in Houston, but I would NOT recommend her and would convince people to find another physician for one devastating reason. Her staff are complete and absolute morons. I am not sure what such a high quality doctor is doing with the most incompetent bunch of partially lobotomized office assistants. The most simplistic of tasks is easily beyond any of their comprehension. If you want ANYTHING done, anything, regardless how small, you should be ready to call every other day to see if it has been done. From getting a letter sent, to checking on records, to faxing, nothing was done without me having to call constantly. One of the idiots behind the counter constantly has a condescending tone to her voice and her reaction to asking her to repeat herself or trying to explain something to her is akin to asking her to kill her first born child. I would avoid her office as all costs only because regardless how amazing Dr. Goff is her staff offsets it completely. read more

Doctor recommendations on yelp usually glow with enthusiasm - my doctor is the best, they know their stuff, they're very professional. So let me try and say why I think Dr. Goff goes above and beyond the usual accolades by describing some specific events. I first went to Dr. Goff a few months ago with leg pain that turned out to be from a herniated disc. She diagnosed it correctly from a brief physical exam, but sent me for an MRI to confirm it. She phoned me - herself - the next day after seeing the results to discuss them. She suggested that I have a consultation with a neurosurgeon, but also that I try physical therapy. I was amazed that a doctor would actually call me, let alone stay on the phone for ten or fifteen minutes, patiently answering my questions. She has called me a couple other times since then. At a followup appointment a month later, while discussing my much-improved back, she noticed I was coughing and volunteered to check my throat and ears, which she found were irritated but not infected. She said she could prescribe antibiotics if I wanted to get over it quicker but I declined. I told her the surgeon hadn't shown me my MRI results. She asked if I had a CD - I did, but not with me - she said bring it when you come for therapy the next time and I'll show it to you. I asked if I needed an appointment, she said no. While I was waiting for a therapy appointment a week later, she saw me, said she was done with patients, did I have my CD, and proceeded to show it to me. She also noticed I was still coughing and said, now do you want those antibiotics? Which I did. I was impressed that she remembered my situation, and went out of her way to help. Dr. Goff's office includes a physical therapy group and a massage therapist, all of whom I'd also highly recommend. Two months ago I couldn't sit for more than about 10 minutes before searing pain ran down my leg. Now I am almost completely pain free. Dr. Goff is a GP but specializes in sports medicine and orthopedics. If you have a muscle or other structural issue, or are just looking for an excellent doctor, I think Dr. Goff is worth checking out. read more

Dr. Goff has been my primary doctor for two years now. I have nothing but the best things to say about her. There are not many doctors who take the time to call you about your results or to check on you personally. She truly cares about her patients and is thorough with diagnosis. Any problems I have had with my health have been addressed in the most professional manner. The specialists she has sent me to are top notch. She is adamant about resolving my vitiligo issues. I have been to numerous dermatologists and none of them have cared enough to take the step further in helping me. There is a difference between being rude and being busy. Her staff is busy all the time so if you are tapping on the window to complain about waiting I don't blame them for being rude back. If you want a no wait go to one of those crappy ER clinics who most likely give you the wrong diagnosis and will definitely waste your time. read more

One of the reviews said Dr. Goff treats mainly sports injuries. I believe it. She may be great for a younger person with a sports injury, who prefers holistic medical care, but I don't recommend her for an older person. Empathy is not her strong suit. I am 64 and have osteo arthritis and a herniated disc. No RX for ambien to help me sleep when I am having a flare up. No anti-depressants, either. I had to wean myself off Prestiq prescribed by my previous internist because Goff refused to refill the Rx. It was a brutal process. Dr. Goff recommends a Chinese acupuncturist for stress. Seriously! She prescribed Flonase for fluid in my ears - no Rx for a diuretic, of course,- and I ended up in the ER with Vertigo a couple of months later. The staff is marginal at best. I wrote Dr. Goff a super nice and complimentary letter in an effort to get her to do a simple referral to a dr. in NC where I just relocated. She or her staff took MY letter and faxed it to the doctor requiring the referral. That obviously did not suffice and I just gave up. If you are in good health and like the holistic approach, Dr. Goff may be perfect for you. Just didn't work for me. I love my new doctor here. Betty Halpern, who had a vision problem and unfortunately had to retire, is still the gold standard as far as I am concerned. read more

I was referred to Dr. Goff when within less than a week after abdominal surgery my right ankle and foot became quite swollen. Dr. Goff checked me out and didn't think there were any blood clots, but to be completely sure she sent me to Houston Imaging for a venous ultrasound. Thankfully no blood clots! I am completely in awe of Dr. Goff's follow up with me. She phoned me twice to see how I was doing and again a third time to confirm the test results were clear. For a VERY busy lady she makes time to communicate with her patients. Dr. Goff is awesome! I was feeling a bit under the weather prior to seeing her for a routine physical. Instead of just doing my physical and letting me go, she figured out I have a sinus infection (oops!) and made sure it was nothing more serious. I was out of there in 35 minutes with a completed physical, blood work done, and steroid shot & antibiotic prescription for my sinuses. You can tell she actually listens to you when you talk, and as you speak, she's already finding solutions for you... She connected the dots on a lot of things I didn't think we're related at all. A very smart, sharp, kind woman. The wait time was a bit long, but it's understandable because she spent a lot of time with me and I did not feel rushed at all. Would highly recommend! read more

She took so much time with me on our first visit, just getting to know me and finding out all about my health issues, medical and family background. Yesterday morning I made the terrible mistake of visiting Dr. Camille Goff's office. I chose her office because she was in network for my insurance, close to home and in a good area of town. My appointment was for 9:00am. When I arrived to the waiting room (at 8:59) and signed in and sat down none of the three ladies behind the glass greeted me so I waited. I was the only one in the waiting room. I noticed that the rug was very dirty and all of the furniture was old and had a layer of dust on it. After flipping through a magazine I got up (9:15am) and tapped on the glass. The woman sitting behind the glass had her back turned toward me and said "yes?" Without turning around to look at me. Another woman came over and I asked her if I needed to fill out paperwork since I was a new patient. Yes I did. Okay so I did that and then sat and waited longer. Half an hour passed and no one came to take me to a room so I tapped on the glass again and told the receptionist that my appointment was for 9am and was the doctor going to see me soon. An excuse was made about running late due to weather. That's fine. A few minutes later I was taken back to another dingy room with stained up carpets, dust and old furniture. On the way back I passed the doctor who literally glared at me through the corner of her eye (I guess she heard me asking about the time). The nurse told me to change into a gown and that I had to get blood work done. Then the doctor flies in, does not greet me and starts talking about my liver and test results and how I need to get all of this blood work done. I said that this is not right, I don't have a problem with my liver and I don't need blood work. In fact I had never seen her before! When she finally figured out that she was with the wrong patient she left. 10 minutes later I went to the nurse to ask a question about blood work and the doctor came out behind me making a comment insinuating that I think I am the center of the universe and telling me I need to check my thyroid. I was not there for my thyroid at all. She ended up telling me that I could leave and that it was unrealistic for me to expect to see her within an hour of my appointment time. It was literally the worst experience I have EVER had with a doctor. I do not recommend her services. She is snarky, rude and obviously values her own time over her clients. I have already filed a formal complaint with my insurance company. No one should ever be treated this way by their doctor. read more

I was referred to Dr. Goff by a coworker shortly after I had moved to Houston several years ago. On my initial appointment to get established I was immediately struck with the thoroughness of the exam. I was even more impressed later that evening when she called me to review my test result all which were normal but the fact that she did this especially since they were al normal truly floored me. The following year I hurt my neck and made an appointment. Being a nurse I truly expected to go to the appointment be handed a script for pain pills and/or a muscle relaxer. I could not have been more wrong. Dr. Goff thoroughly examined my range of motion, did X-rays, taped my shoulder into place to get my neck out of spasm, gave me multiple exercised to do, gave me a book on proper neck alignment and set me up with further physical therapy. Within a week I was back to 100% after being in pain for months. This morning I woke up and needed to see the doctor. I called and they were able to fit me in. Yeah, I've had to wait a bit at the appointments but I think it's because she takes so much time with her patients. read more

The assistant actually asked me to pour my urine from the cup into a test tube in the middle of the office and doctor goof actually said that unless youre too old to do it that is office policy. My first time getting a regular physical and I really enjoyed their staff & service. Dr.Goff has a good patient service and you can tell she cares. She's a busy woman but she takes the time to ask all the right questions and do proactive precautions to make sure your on the right track. She even told me what vitamins to take and referred me to a specialist. She even called me personally to do the follow up results and talked to me about future things I needed to do. I went to Dr. Goff for a consult on a growth near my knee cap. Her brusque and professional opinion- quote- "It's a lipoma. Have it removed. It makes your leg look fat". Maybe, in Dr. Goff's opinion- my leg looks fat- but is it necessary to base medical advice on aesthetics? I wasn't under the impression I was meeting with a plastic surgeon. Dr. Goff is ok. Not great but not horrible either. I came in for an ear ache and sore throat. She examined me for that in addition to some other post-maternity issues at the same time (appreciated this). However, at the appointment she poked a long q-tip in my ears without telling me so it was a bit startling. Perhaps it was necessary to do but it felt like someone jamming the stick in my ear. It was a bit bloody the next day (not sure if that was from the infection or the poking). About a week later, after taking certain antibiotics that didn't seem to work, Dr. Goff prescribed me another anti-biotic and a nasal spray. I was told to use this very specific medication (which apparently this office thought was over the counter). Dr. Goff called me maybe 2 days after the appointment to see how I was doing. I told her I was about the same and that I couldn't find the spray OTC. She assured me it was and that the other generic versions could not be used cause I was nursing. Anyway, when I discovered that the spray was not OTC (after speaking to 3 different pharmacists) and that the prescribed one was almost $200. In fact, it's the only nasal spray that's apparently NOT over the counter (you would think a doctor and her staff would know this?). I called the office and I asked to speak to the Dr but her staff said she was busy and that they would send a message. Never heard back from the doctor. Someone from her staff told me that Nasonex was over the counter. It was not and I told her that I've checked and all the pharmacists told me it was not. She then proceeded to advise me to "just get Flonase cause it's the same thing." Well, the doctor told me specifically NOT to take thatM cause it wasn't approved for nursing moms. So basically I got bad/wrong advice from her office, never got a call back from the doctor to tell me my other options. I then receive a phone call back on a Friday from another staff member who told me that she spoke to the pharmacist "for 2 hours" and that the reason why my insurance wasn't covering the prescribed medication was because my date of birth was wrong. She told me to call the pharmacist to check. I knew this was wrong because I had spoken with 3 different pharmacists who told me that this medication just isn't covered by insurance companies and didn't mention anything about a wrong DOB (in fact, I was able to get the antibiotics just fine and my insurance paid for my visits with Dr. Goff jsut fine), so I knew there was no issue with my DOB information. This staff member told me she would call me back but never did. I've never been in an office that was so disorganized, non-responsive, and just sounded like they didn't know what to do. I have never had such an unfavorable medical experience in my life. I went to Dr Goff hoping to tackle two ailments at one time. Her staff assured me that would be the case when I made the appointment. After waiting an hour in the cramped and dated front room I was taken to a tiny, unsanitary exam room with sunken chairs and peeling paint where I waited another 45 minutes. The doctor came rushing in, did not introduce herself and immediately addressed only my sinus issues, for about 3 minutes. When she made the quick diagnosis I tried to segue to my ankle which had rendered me immobile and she said she just didn't have time to talk to me about it. She said I would need an xray and that they could do that here and left the room and went to another exam room. I waited for a while waiting to be taken for an xray. Went outside and no one knew a thing about it and said they couldn't perform the xray without the doctor's request. So then I was told the soonest they could get me in was the following Monday. Mind you, I was basically unable to walk on my ankle and reminded them of that. The receptionist then said she could try to fit me in the next morning as it appeared several of the appointments were just coming in for lab work. I then got to provide my credit card for my co-pay. When I said I assumed this would cover tomorrow's visit as well since I was originally told the appointment would be for both issues they said no, two visits so two co-pays. So I reluctantly returned the next day only to wait TWO HOURS. She couldn't really see much from the xray so wanted me to get an MRI. She provided me with an ankle brace, gave me two exercises to work to strengthen and it and told me I could continue to exercise on it. (Later found out this was very bad advice). To make a long story short over the course of the next several days I tried to communicate with the doctor and her office and did not receive returned calls. The MRI facility told me the results would be available to the doctor in 48 hours. I called twice to check on them and received no reply. In the second case I spoke to the receptionist who told me she had spoken to the MRI center and that I could expect a returned call at 5pm. No call.When the doctor finally called me on the fifth night after the MRI at 9:30 pm she left a message saying said she'd call back at 7:15 in the morning. She didn't call so by 8 am I called the number she had made the call from the night before. She made no apologies and told me her diagnosis of the ankle but that I would need to come back in. I politely asked when I could come in at a time when I would not have to wait and when I wouldn't cause others to wait. She grew very rude, calling me "m'am" clearly not even remembering my name and told me that she could never assure me I wouldn't have to wait and that if I was frustrated waiting than I get used to it because with OBAMACARE it was only going to get worse. "M'am if you think going to doctor should be like a valet service where you pull up, get seen by the doctor, pay and walk out, you are sadly mistaken. I have already offered for you to come in at lunch time, If you cannot come in at that time you will have to wait. And I can't assure you that if you come at lunch time that you won't wait then either." I chose not to put myself through it again and started over with my usual gp who immediately saw me first thing the next morning and gave me the antibiotics I needed to treat the severity of my sinus condition. I also got into one of the city's most respected orthopedic surgeons within a day and waited in his office only as long as it took me to complete the paperwork. It's important to note that as part of transferring to a different orthopedic doc I had to request the actual films from the MRI center (a 24 hour turn around) as apparently "Dr" Goff had not. She was making her full diagnosis based on a two paragraph report from the radiologist at the MRI center. When I asked the second doctor about whether he thought that made sense he simply put that there is a very short list of radiologists in town whose assessment he would trust to make his full diagnosis and the MRI center I was sent to was definitely not even on his radar. He always asks for the films as there is more to be discerned from them than what the report provides. He spent almost an hour with me, starting with taking me into the room where he examines ALL the films and showed me all that he saw. So not only is Dr. Goff's office dingy, dated, and dirty, you can expect to spend up to three hours there while you may get 10 minutes out of her. And you could quite easily get misdiagnosed and waste an additional two weeks being sick and injured. Also note that neither she nor anyone in her office ever called to ask why I didn't come in that day she was so rude on the phone or to check on my condition. You will not find a better doctor in Houston. Dr. Goff is aggressive with her examination and diagnosis, and conservative in her treatment. With 2 active teenagers, we have seen Dr. Goff over the last 4+ years. She often calls before and after hours to check on the patient. She is not in a hurry to push you through, but doesn't waste your time either. She also refers to the best specialists around with a tight network of docs. She is an A+. read more

Shes beyond "The perfect doctor" Went to her for an ear infection, which she said is pretty bad. She called back twice a day(herself and not the staff) and got me an in network ENT Specialist when my situation didnt improve. She even called my ob/gyn as i was pregnant to let her know the medications. The ENT specialist she chose saw me in 15 minutes notice at a different facility. I would recommend her whole heartedly and go as far as to say that even if your first impression is great just give her the benefit of the doubt as shes a gem. read more

I've seen Dr. Goff twice previously for lower back issues and previously been impressed. However, I scheduled an appointment with her due to knee pain. After making the appointment for knee pain, I subsequently had some pain in my shoulders. When I saw her this morning, she quickly identified my knee issue, recommended an ankle brace, and gave me copies of exercises (thought she didn't show me how to do them as she did for back exercises on my last two visits). She spent five minutes with me, at most. I then asked her about my shoulder pain, but she told me that she didn't have time to help me because she had other patients scheduled and emergencies that had come up. By this point, I had waited for about 40 minutes (even though I was only the second patient she saw). I feel thoroughly disappointed and won't return to see her. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but I have never had the experience of being brushed off by a doctor when I mentioned a specific health problem in the context of an appointment. read more
