They did not know how to handle my puppy, who's large breed. Separated for him hours and he had anxiety from it, stating he wasn't great with other dogs. My dog was boarded one night, apparently separated the whole time from other dogs during the day in his crate. He came home traumatized and couldn't even looking at me. I don't know what they did and when I called they never called me back. I've since been taking him to another camp and he loves it, is excited to go in, the counselors can handle his size, and cater to dogs on an individual basis. He's perfect with other dogs and a favorite there. Camp bow bow is also more expensive than other places. They charge for the full 8 hours if you're a few minutes over 6 hours and they charge $15 to pet your dog/give attention. The other place I go to gives unlimited attention to dogs, flat rate from 8am-6pm, which is still cheaper than camp bow wow's 6 hour rate. read more

It's easy communicating with the staff. Our dog has an injury that prevents her from playing all day with other dogs. The staff was considerate enough to rest her often but still, gave her an opportunity to interact with the other dogs. read more

We had a great experience at the Camp Bow Wow grooming salon on evesham road in the short hills shopping center. My dog, Gus, looks so cute and they did a great job on him. The staff was very nice!!! Compared to other local groomers I feel they have a good price for the whole package they provide. They got Gus done in about an hour and a half. We will continue using them from now on!!! read more

It's been another year since my last review but I wanted to say again just how fantastic Camp Bow Wow at Cherry Hill is. My dog, Kali, is certainly very high energy and they manage her energy and needs extremely well. We have been using Cherry Hill, Camp Bow Wow for about 6 years for our 2 dogs. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a wonderful place to have their dog play, socialize, board, be groomed and of course loved. The ENTIRE staff is comprised of terrific, caring, knowledgable people. Because dogs can change their habits as much as people do, they always ask/confirm your dogs eating preferences, amount of food to be given, medication updates and the ever important Q.....do they like/can they have peanut butter? This is a very welcomed TREAT for my pups! My dogs are always excited to go to Camp BowWow and truly exhausted when I retrieve them.....which I luv! I have had an EXCELLENT experience any time I have used this facility. I am grateful that this location is so close to home for us, but I would drive the distance to receive this groups service if they were further away. read more

My dog's name is Rocky and I have been taking him to Camp Bow Wow on and off for overnights for years. The staff has always be courteous to me and the owner Heidi has always been very accommodating. There are several times where I needed help with Rocky when going on work trips or weekend getaways with not a whole lot of notice. They are usually always able to accommodate me and when they are all booked they are really helpful in giving me other dates available. It brings me great comfort that I can watch my little guy on camera even when I'm so far away. I have done several tours to check out where he sleeps and plays and it always looks good when I visit. I think its a great place for puppies and full grown dogs. They have so much fun they are to exhausted to cause issues at home. My baby loves camp and attended there for almost 9 years. I also use the groomers. They keep my baby looking young. Both places the staff is great. Yes the place get a bit dirty but it gets cleaned everyday. Dogs are dogs not humans and sometimes they play nice and somtimes they are moody. As long as my baby is happy to be dropped off and at pick up the rest is just playtime. Cameras are also great. I take a second out of my day and look for him and watch him play. They are ok with me being a proactive doggie parent. I love picking up my happy dog. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy - they are not helpful and do not have you or your dog's best interest in mind. I sent my less than a year old puppy there, they obviously knew how old my dog was when we went for the interview and they accepted my dog no problem. After a few times of going, they told me my dog needed to learn puppy etiquette so I asked ok how do I teach that or what can I do at home and they informed me that I needed to just keep bringing my dog to camp so my dog can get used to being around other dogs. Ok no problem, until only one month later they banned my dog from camp because my dog didn't know puppy etiquette. Umm you just told me the only way my dog will learn is to keep bringing my dog and now my dog can't come back?! It's only been a month and it's not like I sent my dog every day! Aside from the fact my dog has been banned from this camp, the way they went about banning my dog was the most unprofessional and rude experience I have ever had. I get a barely readable handwritten note in pencil from the manager in an envelope to take home to read. I get home and read it and it basically says my dog can't go back to camp - tried to play it off like it was for the benefit of my dog but really it was for the benefit of them because they are all too lazy to deal with an active puppy. The next day I call the manager and he has the nerve to ask me if I read the letter - yeah I read the letter, what do you think I am calling for!! He proceeds to tell me that my dog is hyper and he doesn't think camp is the best place for my dog. He also doesn't think a trainer would help and he isn't a fan of dog parks. So basically what your telling me is that my puppy has zero options in life. My dog is a puppy not a wild animal. After about a 10 minute conversation I finally hang up because he clearly couldn't be bothered talking to me. Later that afternoon I get the owner calling me and her story is the complete opposite of the manager's - apparently they have a behavior specialist that can come in and work with my dog in their yards and she thinks a trainer could help. Talk about a mind game. Moral of the story - If you have a lazy old dog that wants to do nothing but lay around all day this is the place for you. Otherwise, go elsewhere. It's called a camp but it shouldn't be. The dog to counselor ratio is way off and the counselors that are there don't play with the dogs, they just walk around all day and rely on the dogs to play with each other - which is fine to a certain extent but when I am paying 30 something dollars every time I send my dog there the least you can do is throw a ball or play tug-a-war for 2 minutes. read more

I did the trial run with my dog at this camp and he loved it. We also loved how we could watch him on cameras. So we brought him back for daycare during the day while we took a ski trip. We got a call a hour after we dropped him off that his ear was bleeding and that he got a cut. I understand that happens but I take my dog to and off leash dog park almost everyday and that has never happened. Then two days later he has an upper respiratory infection and a eye infection so he in on medication for 10 days. We wanted to leave him over night for a couple nights for a vacation we are taking in June but now my boyfriend is very hesitant with bring him back. read more

Unprofessional ownership, lackluster staff, and overall uncaring attitude. I do not recommend this CBW due to a recent customer service issue. My advice would be to stay away from this CBW and check out other ones in the area. Let me start off by saying that I am one of those neurotic "dog mommies" and my dog is just as attached to my hip as I am to his. Being a rescue, he has his share of issues when it comes to being left alone, so im extra worrisome. I first brought him in for the free trial day to wear him out, he's so full of energy. The staff were very friendly, and explained everything to me. I got a report card when I picked him up, he did great, slept the whole way home, and ALL night! I love the fact that I can watch him on my iPhone. I find myself checking up less and less each time, because I can see the staff actually playing with him, and putting him in check when he runs like a nut and causes the whole pack to chase him lol. The facility is clean, all the dogs seem well socialized, and the staff really seems to know their "campers." tonight is his first night boarding, well see how it went. I highly recommend camp bow wow ! I just say the name and he gets excited! read more

Mickey has loved Camp Bow Wow since he's been going there for day care. We watch him on the live web cams and he seems to enjoy socializing with the other dogs and particularly likes the fact that he can go in and out as he pleases between the indoor and outdoor sections. We took him to CBW to work off his ridiculous amount of energy and it seems to work. We just got home from another day care session and he is dunzo. Highly recommend this place as its location is convenient and its staff is friendly. read more

I had a recent horrible grooming experience with Camp Bow Wow Cherry Hill.we have been using them for quite a while and they know our dogs well. We bring them here every two to three months for grooming. The last time they groomed my Bernese Mountain Dog, they felt he was too matted and shaved his chest. I was disappointment but accepted that it had to be done, as he has a thick coat even for the breed. When he came home he was still full of undercoat (which he hadn't been like in past groomings).This time they called and told us he was completely matted and said the best option was to completely shave him! We said absolutely not and picked him up untouched. Anyone that knows anything about the breed knows it is not recommended to shave this breed. A few days later, we brought him to a new groomer in town and he has never looked better. They said he was NOT matted but rather this is what happens when he is left to air dry and then put in the cage wet. Camp Bow Wow has lost a loyal customer for sure! So disappointing. read more

We took our Great Dane to overnight Camp twice so far and will be going back! Duke stayed for 1 week then again 10 days; both times he came home a happy pup! Duke had no problems readjusting to being home and there was no evidence he was the least bit stressed from his time away. Also, we find the staff at this location go above and beyond to provide great customer service. Heidi, the owner, as well as the manager and other staff were all very personable and very caring. read more

I cannot say enough kind words about camp bow wow. I take my yellow lab to this camp usually once a week for a full day of camp and the service is just great! The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I also personally believe the price is fair. I have not utilized the grooming or boarding services so I cannot attest to those offerings, but my dog cannot get enough of camp! Camp Bow Wow in Cherry Hill, NJ is the only place I will take my dog now. She has anxiety and gets nervous around people and new situations. I put her in to be boarded for a week while I was on vacation and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with how attentive the staff was to her needs. They didn't force her to do anything she didn't want to do, they would open her kennel door and let her come out on her own time to join the rest of the dogs. They also covered her up with a blanket at night, their own blanket, to help her feel tucked in and safe. Normally my dog will lose a noticable amount of wait while I am away and will be scared when I pick her up. When I came to get her at Camp Bow Wow, she was happy, friendly, and showed no signs of anxiety or weight loss. The staff is great, all of them show love and concern for all the dogs. read more

My dog loves Camp Bow Wow. Sometimes we just take her to get a good romp with the other dogs and many times have boarded her there. The staff is excellent and I know she's well taken care of and happy. It's an added bonus that you can watch your fur baby on their live feed. read more

Our Lil Bobby, a nine pound toy fox terrier, has returned from a stay at CBW for the second time with kennel cough, fever, pain, and shaking chills. Fortunately, aspirin temporarily relieves most of the little guy's symptoms. The facility actually reeks of dog odors, something that with appropriate disinfecting and deodorizing, should not happen. We never received a report on the dog's stay, activities, behavior, etc. In fact, I don't believe the counseler even knew our dogs. This place is expensive as pet boarding goes, but we used them because of the "indoor and outdoor free play". With the skeleton staffing of the facility, and the large number of dogs, the dogs, I believe, receive minimal human contact. My two dogs are all about "people contact" and, unfortunately, I believe they are denied that during their stays. Because of the above, we now plan to seek out a better facility for future boarding. read more

I sent my dog to Camp Bow Wow in Cherry Hill for boarding. There was specific instructions to give the pet medication. Meds were placed in individual envelops to be given at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Camp Bow Wow gave the Sunday lunch at 3 PM and dinner at 5 PM. At 6 PM, I received a telephone call that my dog was very sick. He had to be taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed with having gone into an addisonian crisis. The Univer of Penn did not expect my dog to live; most upsetting was the lack of regard from the owner of Camp Bow Wow. She refused to let me pick up my other dog until the next morning. And further blamed me that I did not reach out to her for three weeks to get a refund (something she should have done immediately in the name of good service and care) when I was caring for my dog and taking him back and forth to the hospital over the next month and then monthly after that. read more

And I left with him hacking tons now :/ I'd give this a 5star because my dogs love this place and I always leave them for many days for over night when I'm out of town for work. Which I have no complaints because he is always treated well by the staff and know who they both are. Always complementing how well they behaved. But now its just upsetting that I pick up my baby and he is been hacking. I wished I would of known their was kennel cough going on the facility and I would of not left him there for the mean time :/ I have 2 dogs and I know they are very well loved there. I just wished that I was told earlier. Now I have to wait until Tuesday to take him in and have to pay for any expenses now. I know my husband is really upset about this.
