First of all, I went for a simple grooming for my Yorkshire terrier. When I got there -- the staff were as welcoming as saints, so much so that my dog didn't hesitate, whimper or wine. He was made to feel at home. Mid-service I got a call to come back. Where the groomer alerted me of a possible skin condition that was contributing to some discomfort during his trim. They sent me off with some treats and recommendations free of charge. I was able to take him to a vet and treat his skin. You can tell they actually care about what they do and the safety of their clients. I can't thank you guys enough. read more

What a great local find! Still being relatively new to the area, I find myself stumbling across some awesome small businesses in my town. We recently added a Goldendoodle puppy to our family and needed to find a great groomer that wouldn't shave her bald or give her a weird haircut like some groomers do with doodles. We have a black lab who doesn't get groomed other than nail trims, so I researched extensively for a groomer that could suit our doodles needs and keep her looking as fluffy and adorable as possible. I had seen many people in our town mention online how much they loved Show Dog Grooming so I decided to look into taking Zoey there. With 5 star reviews from happy customers across the board, as well as many pictures they had posted on Facebook of their grooming style, I knew Show Dog would be a no brainer. Our puppy is only 4 months old, so this was her first grooming experience. She was greeted with smiles and open arms and instantly shown love from Scott and his groomers. After discussing how I wanted her cut, I left Zoey and was told I'd be called when she was done. About 3 hours later, Scott sent me a picture of my adorable pup, groomed and decked out in Christmas gear! She looked perfect. He wanted to make sure I was happy with how she was cut and I certainly was. I came to pick her up and brought my Lab for the ride. Scott was also kind enough to squeeze in a nail trim for him without an appointment! Our Lab hates getting his nails cut, but their love and affection made his experience as easy as possible. I'm so happy to have found a kind, compassionate, and skilled groomer who truly loves dogs and their work. I give this place 2 stars because the first time I took my 2 dogs here the experience was ordinary. The owner / daughter were friendly although the owner was very unorganized at the desk. On my 2nd visit the daughter wasn't there, maybe they were short staffed, idk. I had the first appointment at 10am (they post hours at 9am but no one was there until 10). I scheduled 2 baths, 2 nail trims and 1 haircut. At 12:30 (2.5 hours after drop off) I went by to pick up my dogs. They were shampooed and dried and in crates. I asked the shop assistant when they would be finished because I needed to go into work at some point. Upon hearing this the owner became frustrated and started raising her voice to her assistant saying that if people need to go to work they need to let her know when making the appt instead of looking at me and saying it to me. I said I could wait 1/2 hour for the haircut in which she responded rather abruptly that she can not cut a dogs hair in 1/2 hour (I've done it at home in 10 min) . At this point based on the yelling and frustration of the owner and the nervousness of the assistant I asked to just take my dogs as is. The owner insisted on clipping the one dogs nails. On the 2nd nail she clipped to close and cut the nerve (it happens I know) my dog yelped in pain and nipped the assistant. I said please stop, just give me my dog. There was blood droplets on the floor and I pointed that out. I still hadn't realized it was coming from my dog. Later I found blood on my jacket that my dog stood on in my car and blood on my bed comforter. I just found this an awful environment for dogs, very stressful, a lot of yelling and nervousness going around from the owner/ staff dynamic. The assistant seemed very kind, I hope she gets a better job. I wouldn't bring my dogs back there no way no how. I feel bad I took my dogs there. read more

I took my dog here because it was local and had 5 stars. The owner was welcoming to me and my dog and the staff seemed nice but during my dogs service I felt uncomfortable the whole time. The owner kept yelling at the staff which seemed like a negative environment for the employees and for the dogs. My dog has anxiety and I didn't feel like this was a good place for him. read more

I have a large dog. He hovers around a hundred pounds, total herding type who likes to do his own thing, medium-length hair but with a thick undercoat. Shedding season? Yeah, that runs from February to November. He's a hoss. A loveable hoss who's arguably a more popular member of the family than I am, but a hoss nonetheless. And he needs grooming. That muddy patch of backyard under the trampoline where grass doesn't grow? Yup, that's where the dog lays. The sticky fertilizer and mulch clumped by the patio from last season? That's where he'll roll around. And brother, the chain pet stores in the strip malls just don't know how to deal with a sticky, smelly, 100-pound Pyr. Show Dog Grooming was recommended to us from another groomer - and was well worth the recommendation. Scott, the owner, is a total A-type class act and character who obviously cares for the dogs that come in, and spends his time talking with his clientele. My dear friend's brother recently passed away. He had a lovely dog, but the pooch wasn't as well cared for as he could have been, due to the brother's illness. After the brother's death, the dog became the sister's new family member and we decided the old boy dog (now age 14) needed a treat to a nice grooming, some good food and treats, and trip to the veterinarian. All the above was taken care of nicely! And since 'Show Dog Grooming' was within walking distance, we thought we'd give a neighborhood shop a try rather than a cooperate groomer like a Pet Smart, etc... What a lovely surprise! Two and a half hours later, after we went there and the owner and groomer made friends with 'Buddy'... we went to pick him up and he was beautiful - head to toe - to include a lovely new bandanna for him to wear with pride. Took my little guy to the shop today. I know that he had some mats in his fur but he turned out to be shaved nearly down to his skin and the cut was not even. He was also given a bath, from which he smells of chemicals and his nails are sharper now then they were before he went in. I paid $60 for the groomer to mess my dogs coat, nails and bath up. Last Saturday, my boyfriend and I took his Great Pyrenees Oliver to Show Dog Grooming. I take my dogs there as well and they always look great but they have very short hair. My boyfriend's dog was very hair, a little matted, dirty, stinky in separate need of some grooming. Scott and his team at Show Dog Grooming did an amazing job. Oliver's coat was soft and silky.
