Gorgeous area, nice fully equipped housing with comfortable beds. Fire pits and chairs on the front porch.

So much fun for the kids and all indoor for 18 holes, weather permitting allows the course outside to be used. There is a party room, arcade and some other things potentially in the room, nice you can steer clear of all that with the small kids. Pick a putter, pick a ball, might I suggest orange or bright pink for best glow ability. Fun!!! Friendly assistant and great price. Kids 6 and under were free.

We (my two grandsons - ages 9 and 16 and their old gramma) opted for the indoor "glow golf" and…read morearcade games today. Glow golf was rough for this old gramma -- dark and kind of dangerous with all the hidden ups and downs making navigating the various holes a bit scary (in that I feared falling and breaking bones, neither of which happened, thankfully). I was very glad when the mini golf was over! Actually, I think my grandsons were as well. They also have daylight outdoor mini golf, which would have been a better choice for me. Afterward I gave each boy $10 in quarters (ATM and change machines on site) to play with in the arcade. Prizes were crap, naturally, but they had fun. A few games were out of order, sadly. I would not wholeheartedly recommend this venue, but it suited this Spring Break entertainment quest today.

Parts of it seemed a little dated, but it overall looked clean and well-kept (especially the gym and daycare). While running the 5K, the ground appeared well-kept. I did spot a rather hilarious looking concessions trailer, but it didn't seem out of place and did a good job of providing the kind of ambiance I would expect in rural Kentucky. Would run here again!

The facilities are great. I use the weight room and they have everything I need. Staff are…read morefriendly. However, there are a few continuing problems. 1. The weights in the weight room are never, ever, ever sorted into their correctly labeled spots (you can only blame other patrons up to a certain point--then you have to start asking why the staff aren't enforcing a sorting rule or sorting them themselves). 2. The wifi is spotty. 3. When equipment breaks, repairs take forever. One of the selectorized weight machines had a weight that stuck for months and months after I politely mentioned it to staff multiple times. 4. The men's bathroom by the weight room often has a very strong urine smell and the hinge on the stall door is not dependable. And handle on the sink in there has been broken for weeks. 5. The second hand on one of the wall clocks in the weight room is broken, and has been for a long time, which is frustrating if you want to time a lifting rest. (It's a small thing, but it's the kind of thing staff should handle without having to be asked by their customers. Plus, who wants to be "that guy" who asks them to fix their clock? I already asked once--now I'd rather use up my political capital asking about the wifi.) 6. Any time you have to do ANYTHING in the office, it takes forever. Reception and basic bookkeeping tasks move at a snail's pace. Again, all the staff are very nice, and overall things are not bad. However, there are some continual/recurring (and frustrating) problems that appear to be a lack of proper management.

My family and I are seasoned campers. We love Hardin Ridge! In comparison to Paynetown Campground…read morewe found Hardin ridge better because, the restrooms are clean, private showers, beautiful views, the sites are mostly private, fishing ponds, nature trails and is a Federal Camping area. In contrast, Hardin Ridge may not be ideal for camping, if you have a boat, which we do... there is a solution for boaters though, we rent a RV site and can park right on the site. You need to do your homework though!!! Only the right side of the campground can be reserved, and the rest is first come first serve. There is a large parking lot near the launch area as well, although we do not trust leaving our boat. One other reason you might not like Hardin Ridge is the proximity to stores for gas, groceries, beer and other supplies. In Paynetown, you are basically missing the wilderness experience, you are in a field seeking shade. Make sure to bring shower shoes and wait in line for the showers! We are consistently harassed by their rent a cop...seriously! For example, we were told the park does not like Rap! They want you to be realllllly quite at 10:00, and trust me they do walk into your site and tell you to be quite. We have guitars and were not allowed to play them. Another example, was we then thought we would get a primitive site close to the water so that we could park our boat in front of our campsite. Well, funny story...we came in from a day on the lake and other boats parked on our site, walked right through our camp area...I confronted one. Lets just say Conservation Officers were called to the situation, They did nothing to stop these people from walking into are camp... You are close to amenities though, there is a store and gas station close by, and many parks for little ones. it is flat for tents. CITY SLICKERS Welcome...lol To sum it up, we have never had people problems at Hardin Ridge, and because we have a boat we are 3 min to 4winds Marina, and a skip to Allens Creek!! Hardin Ridge overlooks Allens Creek. There is quite time but nobody has ever said anything about a low radio or a strum of a guitar... nobody ever bothers our stuff or us!! Tree Huggers Welcome...lol Southern Point -non Electric 17.00 a night Electric- is 27.00 a night Senior discounts- almost half the price ONE MAJOR POINT: DONT bring in the wood! We bring a chainsaw and cut our own, you are welcome to cut the downed timber or buy theirs!
