Camp Chesterfield is a very loving, caring, and praying community of residents and students dedicated to spiritual growth and enlightenment. I began studying there in 2016 because I felt that mainline protestant churches (with which I am involved) tend to de-emphasize life after death and the meaning of the resurrection. I needed to explore these areas in a deeper way than was accessible through my church. The instructors and students at Camp Chesterfield have opened my eyes and mind to a deeper spirituality, a better understanding of Biblical symbolism, and the spirituality and mysticism common to many religions. They have helped me deepen my prayer life - particularly in the area of healing. Many people associate Camp Chesterfield with mediums, psychics, and readings but it is much more than that. The people at Camp focus on an enlightened spiritual life of which spirit communication is a part. This is one of those places where you feel as though you are tress passing or in a time warp. It's not a book store as another Yelp listing states. It's not a hotel. It's more like a gathering place. Camp Chesterfield does have a book store. It also has a hotel (one that's defunct and another that solidifies the time warp feeling). It also has an information center. Though I parked at the bookstore, I didn't visit any of those places. I instead ambled. They have a garden of prayer which is this very old stone building seemingly cut into a hill. There are two portions. One for private prayer and lighting candles (and there's evidence lots of people have). The other still small (where you enter) that could possibly be okay for a few people. There are crosses and other religious paraphernalia inside. Outside you can venture down to the sculpture garden. I am sure it has a name, but I don't know it. There are busts of famous religious figures. Buddha. Jesus. Confucius. Krishna. Etc. In chronological order, however. Walking away from these will lead you to the toadstools. These are tables and chairs where past clairvoyants and readers have readings. Certain tables are marked with names of people who sat in them most often. Then travel further and you'll see the church and a labyrinth (with pamphlet giving explanation). And then there are houses of all the readers living on the premise. Lots of stuff. The grounds are sacred and before being used for a spiritualist community and learning center, native Americans trekked these grounds. They are the original spiritualists I have learned so much here since entering the gates in February of 2013. I have seen and experienced spirit at this place with every earthly sense as well as metaphysically. There are very talented residents as well as visitors and students. I have seen people visit that can demonstrate mediumship despite a large ego, or selfish nature. It isn't the norm and I'm not sure where their futures will lead them. I am here to say I've seen several practitioners that are some of the best in the world in what they are able to demonstrate or precipitate from spirit. Please visit and form your own opinions as I have. I'm not sure where this review about fake ness and non evidence stems from.
