New customers have to pay attention when booking. You have to follow directions on his website and he doesn't do walk-ins. I've witnessed a few complaints about how particular he is with regard to this, but he is a one man operation and the time he spends on administrative items, like a new customer not able to follow his directions, is less time taking care of his customers. He has lots of classic grooming supplies and also makes some custom one's as well. I love his products and use them almost exclusively. TLDR: follow his instructions. Be on time. You'll get a great haircut and a fantastic experience. After a few years, he is not just my barber, but a friend. This is after I goofed up his instructions a few times. Love this place. My first impression - i had this warm feeling that came over me as i was welcomed as soon as i walked in the door, and had my place on a chair immediately. While i was getting chopped, i got to view all of the sports art and memorabilia covering the walls so that gave it good vibes. Service was top notch, so i will definitely be coming back! I…read morefound him because I asked someone in a Camp Hill restaurant where he had had his perfect flattop cut. I went to Neibert's that afternoon and received the best flattop I'd ever had. Since then, I've had every standard haircut from horseshoe flattop to a businessman's medium length cut, and I've been satisfied every time. He is ultra precise, and he schedules nearly an hour for flattops - I've known him to occasionally spend 3/4 hour to cut mine with panache. Most haircuts average 20 -25 minutes, Each cut is finished with a warm lather outline shave around ears and neck, and he then gives you an excellent shoulder massage. Charlie is semi retired, and now, at age 62, he works only Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, by appointment. The shop has regular hours Tues - Saturday, when Dorothy and Elizabeth (identical twins) hold sway, and they are very attentive, good listeners, and good cutters. Charlie, however, is a master. He listens to what you want and goes for it. He's unafraid to go short,and will shave the sides and back of a high and tight or flattop with no hesitation. He is regularly visited by the area's cops, fireman and military personnel, yet he is also an excellent barber for more standard, longer and stylish haircuts. At one time he worked for the State Police training facility, so his expertise around very short, military style haircuts is evident. He's a fun guy with a great sense of humor, and he'll give you his personal opinion of your style on you if you ask, though he is tactful. Charlie makes Neibert's the very best in the Harrisburg area. Tell him Lee sent you and he'll laugh. The price, at $11, is a good value for central PA, yet Charlie's talent on your haircut makes it a phenominal bargain. Make an appointment and see for yourself. He works evenings on those days he works at all. I can't imagine wanting to ever change barbers again!
