They handled things I didn't even realize I didn't have to do--like setting up the goodie bags, cutting and serving the cake, packing leftovers--which meant I actually got to relax and enjoy the party. The kids had a blast making their own pizzas and decorating cupcakes, and the fact that the place comes already decorated with birthday banners and permanent balloons made it even easier. Plus, being able to bring in our own food and drinks (including alcohol!) for the adults was a huge bonus. Everyone kept commenting on what a fun and unique party it was. If you're planning to do goodie bags, I recommend ordering aprons on Amazon instead of buying them from the venue--it's cheaper and makes for a cute party favor. Also, I suggest putting a balloon on the directional signs in the shopping center by Dunkin' Donuts so your guests don't get lost, since it's a bit tricky to get there. Highly recommend Lil Chef if you want a fun, stress-free, and memorable birthday party.

If you're looking for a unique, engaging, and (most importantly) stress-free party venue, look no further! The moment we arrived, the staff was fantastic. They were incredibly friendly, professional, and had everything set up perfectly. They managed a group of twenty 9-year-olds with ease, keeping them entertained, focused, and most importantly, safe while they learned to cook. As a parent, the experience was truly seamless. The instructors handled the entire cooking lesson, kept the flow moving, and then--the biggest win of all--they took care of all the messy cleanup! I was able to relax and enjoy the celebration rather than running around managing logistics. The facility is bright, clean, and perfectly equipped for young chefs. This wasn't just a party; it was a fun, hands-on memory the kids won't stop talking about. Lil' Chef School is an absolute gem, and I highly recommend them for any birthday celebration!

It's disappointing but not surprising to receive such a defensive and misleading response instead…read moreof any reflection or accountability. Since you have chosen to publicly distort the situation, I will clarify the facts. First, my child is four years old--a preschooler--attending a class that was marketed as creative and supportive. Instead, your rigid, one-size-fits-all approach left no room for individual learning styles or self-expression. The lack of patience and understanding was evident from the start. Second, the way you describe my child's actions is exaggerated and unfair. Saying "no" is a normal response for a young child in a new environment. Spilling water--whether accidental or not--is also normal for this age group. As for the sharpie cap incident, rather than offering guidance or redirection, your immediate response was removal and exclusion. That's not teaching--it's intolerance. Most troubling is your complete lack of awareness or inclusivity for neurodiverse children. The fact that you frame basic preschooler behaviors as "behavioral issues" and immediately resort to expulsion rather than understanding speaks volumes. You've made it clear that children who don't fit your narrow mold aren't welcome. Rather than addressing the real issue--your rigid, exclusionary practices--you've chosen to defend discrimination under the guise of "student safety." The only thing unsafe here is an environment where a young child is treated like a problem instead of a learner. Parents deserve to know the truth: Fibo is NOT a welcoming place for all children. If you expect kids to be robotic and silent, just say so--don't pretend to offer a creative and nurturing experience. Shame on you for doubling down instead of doing better.

Child Creativity Lab takes donated every day items (Lego pieces, empty prescription containers, bottle caps, buttons, wine corks, new popsicle sticks as well as excess items from various companies (excess fabric, plastic bottles, paint, pins, tacks, glue, zippers, etc.) and they put them together in a package so that kids can assemble them them and create a figure like a robot or animal out of all the parts. Before COVID they used to have in house workshops, but now they take the party out to the kids in city community centers, schools, etc. My friend planned a service event here so I came over to help out for a couple of hours. All the parts for the project were laid out at various stations and we went down like an assembly line and filled bags with the items to create a project-in-a-bag for each child. If I was a kid in elementary school receiving a project bag like this to put together with other classmates, I would be totally stoked. If you are interested in donating common household items for them to use, give them a call to see what they do and don't take. You can also arrange to do a service event here with your organization, they have people come in every week to help out. We need more places like this in all communities!

And I was seeing thousands of kids around the world that needed homes -- Sam Brownback It is not the physical pain that endangers orphans the most. It is the mental pain caused by stress from years and years of being neglected, pushed aside, disregarded, unloved, and made to feel undeserving, and in almost all cases, made to feel like a possession rather than an equal human being. Even more it is the lack of unconditional love, the right to be accepted, as a child and to be loved, as a child, no matter what you do is the most wounding. -- Roger Dean Kiser, from Orphan - A true Story of Abandonment, Abuse and Redemption. Part II of Sidney Writes About Doing Good The Roger Kiser quote completely devastated me the first time that I read it. And I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried. It crystallized for me everything I felt growing up...everything that I wanted in this life. I grew up in a broken home...never knew my Father...my mom was a struggling single mom with two kids. She worked full time, and then being a child of the 60's, partied like that was her second full time job. I knew with my son, that I had to be 100% different...that even though my relationship did not work out, he would always know the unconditional love and support that I never had. He is indeed lucky that he has two parents that love and adore him very much. It also explains why I feel so strongly that everyone needs to give back to their community. This whole nonsense of "I Built That" is just that: nonsense. So much of one's success is nothing more than an accident of birth (not that enough people get that). I always want to ask the typical OC preening peacock: What if you were born a slave? Or a Chinese peasant? Or a woman in the Dark Ages? Or in the middle of the Somalian or Congo Civil War? How magnificent would you be then? It is what I try and teach my son especially since he is growing up in the bubble of the OC with no real wants or needs unmet. He got lucky with two loving parents who adore him and who have the financial resources to take care of him. Corazon de Vida Foundation supports a dozens orphanages in Baja California. Per the website: "As some background, Mexico does not have a foster care system to support children in need due to neglect, abuse, or abandonment. There is no welfare system to help families with a single parent that is unable to provide for their children. So, the only way to support families and children in need is through a network of orphanages. At last count, there are approximately 50 orphanages in Baja California, Mexico. Most are located close to the border because most of their support comes from the US." They run several trips a month to the homes where individuals or groups can visit the children (and play and interact) or do needed service. You can also sponsor a child, donate online, host a party or make a difference in a variety of other ways. Now, many of my Yelp friends enjoy Sababa in Long Beach. Corazon is hosting a social soiree for only $10.00 on October 17th. Tickets can be purchased here: http://oct17soiree.eventbrite.com/ There will be a appetizers, drinks, a raffle. And hey, I will be there too :) It is a tremendous organization that does an amazing amount of work for the neglected children of Mexico.
