I support their mission, but they really need to improve their customer service. The people accepting donations in the back are not friendly at all - they just stare at you as you're unloading your car, and they never offer to help. I make donations to Mercy Warehouse as well, and the people there are always super friendly, greet you with a smile, and help carry your donations from your car. 100% better experience than Working Wardrobes so Mercy may be getting all my donations from now on. Do better WW - it's not that difficult to provide good customer service. read more

They only take things that are already on hangers and they didn't want to help put them in hangers. I had a lot of nice clothes and shoes but they said no , only clothes on hangers. read more

I adore the mission of WW so much - I was first introduced to them when I worked for a large corporate company and they would have WW drives and everyone could donate their previously worn or new working wear. Now I just make sure to keep these aside from my Salvation Army donations because I think WW's cause of helping people get back on their feet and feel confidently dressed and accessorized for their interviews is so worthy. I have dropped off boxes of jewelry sets as well. They take shoes, purses, laptop bags, brief cases along with clothing! Make sure to check out their donation hours and you can just pull up and drop off. They also have drop off times on Saturdays! They recently had to deal with a devastating fire, so they could really use your help to restock. And it's all tax deductable, ask for a receipt! read more

During some early spring cleaning we found we could free up closet space taken up by dressier work clothes that we no longer wear (telecommuters). Rather than drop them off at the local Goodwill I wanted to be more intentional with my donations and found this center nearby. The clothes go directly to people entering the workforce or are sold at local stores (profits go towards programs to help job seekers). I had my clothing on hangers and dropped them off. They provided me with a donation receipt. Very easy! read more

Although this might be a good place to buy used clothing, donating there is a hassle. I have dropped off many beautiful articles of clothing there in the past but now they make you hang up everything you bring and even turn stuff away as if they were buying it. Many workers and or volunteers are there but no one will actually help you hang the clothing even if they're just sitting around. working wardrobes is probably really great for those looking for a job and assistance. The donation center seems to be a different story. I called ahead to make sure everything I needed to know before dropping off clothes for those who may need it in regards to business casual, and business for work. I was not told you would have to hang up your own garments when I pulled up to pull out my small bag of clothing literally, it might've been five or seven pieces a volunteer came out and demanded I hang up my clothing, which was a surprise to me since that was not told to me when I made the call. Someone else there actually came out, she said it was fine that they do like to ask people to help with hanging up the clothes. I said all I was saying was I was unaware that you were required to hang up the clothes that you were donating. It was first time donating to working wardrobes The person who took the clothing said it's completely fine. We will take care of it this time. I have issues with reaching so this would have been difficult for me. I drove a distance to donate these clothes and it seemed it was appreciated, but demanding that someone donating clothes hang up the donation needs to be very clear before the person gets there. Thankfully, I did not have a very large bag of clothes which I have planned on donating, but I guess now I'm going back to the Goodwill, which I did not want to do because my experience was the Goodwill in my area was throwing away a brand new pair of pants with tags still on them in front of me when I gave it to them. I started cleaning my closet out and went in yesterday to donate them. The lady who was taking the donations of clothes was more than pleasant and offered me a sincere thank you. I went on a tour of the facility 2 years ago and was totally impressed with all they do to help veterans, seniors, job seekers to get back into the work force.I suggest taking the tour. Working Wardrobes helps men, women, young adults, and veterans who, "are overcoming significant life challenges on their journey to a job". They offer career assessments, job mapping, one-on-one career coaching, soft and hard skills job training, interview techniques, resume writing skills, job search and placement assistance, and professional wardrobing. They do ask that all clothes be donated on hangers, so save up your wire hangers from your dry cleaning to use for donations. Also, because this organization is focused on job placement, they are looking for upscale donations, things a person could wear in an office or place of employment professionally. Things like suits, button down shirts, skirts, dresses, pants, and also accessories like shoes, belts, ties, and jewelry. When you arrive they have clothing racks on wheels, they'll bring one to your car and you will hang your donations on the rack. Then they'll give you a donation form for your tax returns. It's easy to find and there is plenty of parking. They have a big banner that says "donations" so you know you're in the right place. read more

Earlier this year, in March, my company - like so many others - went to working remotely. My work wardrobe was has been sitting idle since then, and it looks like I won't be needing any time soon, as my office in LA. I decided to donate the clothes that I am no longer using, so that someone else can benefit from them. I did a google search, looking for places specifically for women - and stumbled upon an organization, "Working Wardrobes," that does "everything in (its) power to help men, women, young adults and veterans overcome difficult challenges so they can achieve the dignity of work, and the Power of a Paycheck". Their donation center is in Irvine, off of Redhill. It was easy to find, and once on the property, you'll note immediately that they are a well oiled machine. There are racks for the clothes that you are donating (all donations must be on hangers, due to COVID) - and they check you in with an ipad, and provide you with a receipt. It provides clothes to help vets prepare for rejoining a work force or just daily routines. I donated my father's three closets of quality suits, slacks, shirts, shoes. Since their office was sadly destroyed in a fire with a lot of their inventory, they had to temporarily close their donation center. For now this is their donation center, you will need to bring clothes on hangers, no bags, so do visit their website, to keep updated what their protocol is and please be respectful and wear your mask. They do give you a paper to take home and fill out, if you want to report your donation for tax purposes.
