I just want to post a thank you to those of you who are former clients of The Academy who send me…read moremessages about your bad experiences and abuse you received by the director of this establishment. Please keep them coming as well as your questions about our experience. Know that we are more than disappointed, shocked, and confused about why we (and some of you) were singled out to receive such offenses. But, in the end, are thrilled that it pushed us into our current situation with FAR better and trustworthy care, where questions are answered with thoughtfulness and collaboration; lacking any harassment, condescension or bullying like we received at this facility from the director. I cannot speak to the services of the school, its teachers, staff or curriculum as we never made it past the nursery stage, which is where we were constantly told to "talk to Ms. Teri" and was when we would receive such abuse.

I still remember how to count in French (despite going on to study Chinese for the rest of my academic career). I've never struggled in reading comprehension due to the great fundamental work done by Mrs Terri and staff. Since my time, I've seen the building grow but the feeling remains the same. This is one of the best preschool's in the country and I'm blessed to have had such a great introduction to education. Sending love and blessings to the staff you truly make an impact for kids, and your work is never forgotten. - Class of 99

My son never got to do the wall climb which is what he was looking forward to the most becasue there wasn't enough time. Tim never showed up until the end of the party and never responded to my texts. In additon, I sent him an email about our awful experience and never got a response. The staff that was working the party were teenagers on their phones, rude, lazy, and clearly did NOT want to be there. And they were dressed very grungy. Even the guests were commenting on their behavior. And the bathrooms didn't work! The kids had a decent time, but I don't feel like I got my money's worth. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I booked the place for a family reunion picnic and 2 other venues for a family reunion in 2020…read more Then covid-19 hit. The other 2 venues allowed our deposits to remain the same and reschedule the events for no additional cost . The River Boat said they didn't give refunds, but we could use it when we got ready to reschedule the reunion. The Meet and Greet venue did the same thing. Maple Grove was quite different. We paid a $1,000 deposit , and the owner wanted us to pay $500 for 2021 to reschedule and pay $500 again in 2022 to reschedule. So the owner wanted us to pay him an extra $1,000 just because we requested to postpone for another date due to a pandemic that was killing people from our original date in 2020. If I could rate them lower than 1 star I would, but long story short , our reunion is now rescheduled for next year 2023 . Therefore , we had to cut our losses before they it worse. The owner was paid $1,000 deposit for doing nothing at all but upping the prices even more. I had to go back to what I know for our family reunion picnics, Canale Farms which is the best venue for picnics ,and the family is very professional and follows up with phone calls and text unlike Maple Grove 's owner. All you need to do is pay the cost and show up at Canale Farms. Some of my family members wanted to change our venue. Unfortunately, I chose Maple Grove which was going to cost us more than Canale Farms ( food, entertainment, decorations, etc.) and the owner still had the nerve to ask for an extra 1,000 dollars due to rescheduling due to covid-19. I totally appreciate my other 2 venues for being fair and professional with the rescheduling of our 2020 Family Reunion during these trying times of the pandemic. You live and learn. What goes around comes around. What goes up must come down. I know these were the owners rules, but I just wanted to make people aware of the owners business tactics. A lesson learned with my family, don't fix what's not broken. I would not use this facility for anything or recommend to anyone. Use it at your own risk. I just like dealing with business owners who are professional and fair. This is my point of view and others may not feel the same.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND LA PETITE ACADEMY TO ANYBODY WITH A CHILD. PERIOD…read more My name is Charles Tate, and my son attended La Petite for about two years. I can personally say that I regret ever sending my son there. A lot of the behavioral problems we are fighting to correct now started while he was attending La Petite. Before La Petite, my son was at home with me and his mother. He was not constantly throwing temper tantrums, falling out, biting, and displaying the type of behavior that became normal after being in that environment. Instead of progressing, we watched our child start going backwards. My biggest problem is the lack of supervision and accountability from some of the teachers. Too many times it looked like teachers were sitting around while these kids were allowed to do whatever they wanted. I would pick my son up around 5:00 PM with PILES of food still on his clothes. I'm talking about thick globs of spaghetti, crumbs, dried food, and mess all over him. If my child has been walking around for hours with thick food all over his clothes, what does that tell me? Nobody even bothered to clean him up. When I complained, the excuse was basically, "He's a messy eater," and I was told maybe I should send extra outfits. HOW MANY OUTFITS AM I SUPPOSED TO SEND? Two or three outfits every single day? Ten to fifteen outfits every week because the teachers can't wipe food off a child or change his clothes? That's ridiculous. And I know it's ridiculous because since moving him to his new learning center, HE COMES HOME CLEAN. Same child. Same eating habits. Different school. There were times I picked my son up and his Pampers would be soaked with pee or dirty with poop. One day I walked into La Petite and my son had taken his shoes and sock off and was sitting there SUCKING ON HIS SOCK. The teacher didn't even seem to know what was happening. You're sitting in the same classroom with my child and don't notice he's taken his shoe and sock off and is sitting there sucking on it? That is the type of supervision I'm talking about. My son came home with too many unexplained injuries. Bumps on his head. Bite marks on his body. Scrapes on his legs bad enough that skin was missing. And too many times NOBODY COULD TELL US WHAT HAPPENED. I even personally walked in and caught a teacher YELLING AT MY SON. Then they started putting my son in a classroom with children who weren't speaking, and instead of watching him develop, we watched him regress even further. My son went from saying words to barely saying anything. Now we are having to work like hell to get him out of the hole he fell into developmentally and behaviorally while attending this daycare. And yes, I'm going to speak on the director, Miss Sean. Miss Sean is nice, but NICE IS ALL SHE IS. In my experience, Miss Sean is extremely passive-aggressive when it comes to actually dealing with problems, and she allows entirely too much to happen without anybody being held accountable. Being nice and smiling in a parent's face does not mean anything if the same problems keep happening to their child. If teachers aren't properly supervising children, DO SOMETHING. If children are repeatedly coming home filthy, DO SOMETHING. If a child keeps coming home with unexplained injuries, DO SOMETHING. If parents repeatedly complain, DO SOMETHING. You are the DIRECTOR. At some point, the excuses have to stop and somebody has to be held accountable. And here's what really confirmed everything for me: We finally took my son out of La Petite and sent him to a different learning center. MY SON DID BETTER HIS FIRST WEEK AT HIS NEW SCHOOL THE LEARNING CENTER THAN HE DID IN TWO YEARS AT LA PETITE. Let that sink in. He comes home with clean clothes. He keeps his shoes on. We're seeing improvement. We aren't dealing with the same nonsense and excuses. Same child. Different environment. Different teachers. Different results. That tells me everything I need to know. Parents, please pay attention to your children. Pay attention when their behavior suddenly changes. Pay attention when they repeatedly come home filthy, soaked, bitten, scraped up, bruised, or with injuries nobody can explain. Don't let anybody continuously make excuses and convince you that everything is just your child's fault. I trusted La Petite with my son, and based on MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, I WOULD NEVER DO IT AGAIN. I would not recommend La Petite Academy to ANYBODY with a child. Charles Tate Father of Jace Tate
