The exhibits are spaced apart so the museum is open and you don't feel like too much is inside. Admission was $2.14 with the sales tax. Parking is free in the parking lot and the museum opens at 8am, Monday through Friday. I didn't get there that early but it was an option. Restrooms are available and they are clean. Before visiting the museum, I had never heard of Richlands, NC. I am working my way through the state museums and this one was just a little detour from my route to my final destination. The museum takes you back to earlier times, when you enter you see the 38 foot long large canoe and just wonder how they got that inside and how it was moved during the time it was used. You can read about all of that on the informational cards. Local history was the focus on the museum and you will learn about everything from healthcare to food to education to the military to transportation to the people who made the county what it was. The children's area has many hands on exhibits about Exploring Mesoamerica: the Maya; Inca and Aztec. I highly recommend visiting this museum.

Truly 3 stories of endless amounts of hands-on, sensory fulfilling fun. So much to learn here and each room has a completely different theme including an entire dentist office (with a dental chair and life size toothbrushes and teeth!), an incredible treehouse and play kitchen, a huge boat/ship and aquatic area, a veterinary office featuring many stuffed animal dogs and everything you'd see in a vets office including dress up costumes, and so much more! We spent a couple of hours here and honestly didn't think my toddler would make it that long, but that goes to show how epic this place is! Even if you have an early walker like my little babe, I highly recommend! There's something for all ages here and a great way to get out of the house and stay off the screens!

The events are heavily discounted for members, which we love. The employees are great and there's not many people there during the weekday in the winter, anyway. This is a smaller museum, so it's great for our almost 4 year old. There's a little outdoor area with a few things. We love the school bus. Fun place to visit when the weather isn't great.
