If you're looking for a riding camp, look elsewhere. I paid the extra fee for an extra hour of riding per day, for a total of 2 riding hours per day. My son never received 2 riding sessions, only 1 per day and they canceled a day, which equals out to only 3 total hours of riding for the week (no riding Wednesday). I paid for 8. Even with that ripoff, my son said he only got to ride 10 minutes each day because the time is split between the kids. I asked them for an explanation and refund for the riding lessons that were not provided and they never responded to my email or voicemail. The kids all describe it as a swimming camp that dumps the kids at the pool all day. They didn't even ask if my son could swim. It is run by foreigners with thick accents that are very difficult for children to understand. Some kids like it because there are tons of kids going here, but if you're looking for a riding camp, this is the worst one. Don't let the nicer facilities deceive you, your kid will not learn to ride, and will not enjoy riding after this experience. read more

My daughter stopped in for a horseback riding lesson with her daisy toop and I went along to fulfill my inner horse girl dreams. Camp Olympia is a horseback riding center, nursery school, and summer camp located only a few minutes outside the District. There is lots of parking and tons of green space to run around. It's an absolute beautiful space to send your children to. Our instructor greeted us and introduced us to the horses. The girls were able to learn different horse facts and were taught how to properly groom the horses and spend quality 1:1 time with them. All the horses were well cared for and were super sweet with the children. Afterwards, each child was taught how to mount and dismount a horse and was led around the track. I was looking for a summer camp for my granddaughter and because I was working, I needed one that could provide transportation. The application process was easy;and before we knew it, it was time to attend camp. My granddaughter signed up for daily horseback riding lessons and loved the chance to show off her skills to her family when they held open camp days. She enjoyed the other activities as well -- swimming and just playing in nature. She attended for 3 summers. read more

We all want to provide the best for our kids. When it was time for my first son to go to a daycare facility I was nervous and a bit scared as to where I would be dropping off my first born child. As I looked around, I felt even more nervous and scared. Alas, my mom recommended Camp Olympia. I was nervous at first because, I thought it was just a horse camp. What could they know about a toddler?? Was I ever soo wrong. Mom knows best. I have been sending my first and second son there for over 6 years now. The ladies at the daycare facility, I cannot say enough about their patience and kindness. My kids would go on hikes, have an exercise program every day. I never had to worry about my kids not being treated right. My kids liked the staff at the daycare facility. There weren't too many kids at the facility. Staff member were always available for questions. These days my two boys now go to Camp Olympia for summer camp. There is soo much to do at Camp Olympia. Swimming, hiking, relay races, basketball, soccer, horse back riding as well. I'm sure there is more. My boys come home tired and hungry. I take this as a good sign! The summer counselors are vibrant and attentive to all the kids. I feel fortunate to have found such a great place for my two boys. I never felt a day of worry as to how my kids were doing or what they were doing or even how they are being treated while I was at work. It gave me such peace knowing this. I have nothing but fond memories of my kids at Camp Olympia. I wish Andrea, and the rest of the staff nothing but the best. Thank you ladies for helping me with my two boys. I am very disappointed with this horseback riding camp. When I signed up for a horseback riding camp, I expect my daughter to have at least one hour of contact with a horse a day, but they have so many kids that each one can ride no more then 20 minutes a day. Not worth the money and the time. read more

My daughter has been going to the day school since she was 3 (she's 5 now) and Andrea, Luisa, Angie and Tessie are all great staff. They take the kids on daily nature hikes, provide regular updates to parents and have a great daily schedule that keeps the kids engaged and promotes great creativity. The class size is not too big (right now they have about 28 kids), the hours are great (7am-6pm), and the land the school is on is a beautiful setting for kids to explore. A plus is the summer camp, the swimming horseback riding and gymnastics wore her little body out and she absolutely loved it (and so did her father and I). We highly recommend. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Camp Olympia's preschool program. The teachers are incredible, and the farm environment is absolutely amazing. My son loves going to school (and camp in the summer!), which makes me so very happy and grateful. read more

I went there when I was around 9 and again when I was 12-13. I did not have a good time. The counselors were too busy with each other and a lot of the time they just didn't care. They did things that amused them. During a swim period two counselors made everyone do a belly flop contest, including the females, and if we didn't want to then we couldn't swim. I thought that was horrible and I felt very uncomfortable. I also did the horseback riding program and the woman in charge was nice but she didn't know how to teach. She knew how to yell, but she was very very strict. I was so happy when my session was over, never letting my kids go here. read more

Beware. Had our child in their summer "riding and sports" camp. Firstly, no water provided even though they are outdoors all of the time. Secondly, we told the front office that our child had an asthmatic reaction to pool chlorine and asked them to be aware. When she had such a reaction, the teen counselor said that she didn't know anything about that and forced our child back into the pool. It was dangerous! When we complained to the management, their response was that sometimes kids lie. Finally, when they make the kids run laps around the field, if a child gets tired and starts to walk, they force the child to run additional laps. Recommend avoiding this camp if you are concerned about the health and safety of your child. read more

My children have gone to Camp Olympia summer camp since they were each three years old. My son is now 8 and my daughter is 6. They LOVE IT!! They are outside all day--they play a variety of sports, they swim, they horseback ride--it's fabulous. Kids these days spend way too much time indoors and this camp keeps the kids outside engaged in nature. My kids come home from camp filthy, exhausted, and happy every day! read more

Camp olympia is one no scratch that is the worst place to send your child to camp. When I know someone who there child went and they almost drowned them. In the pool and a little girl ( I new very very well. Not little any more ) got yelled at for getting of the horse while it started to lye dawn ( not a good idea to stay on) ire toy miss one day of riding then you can't do anything on the horse that day. In my opinion DO NOT GO TO CAMP OLYMPIA DO NOT unless you want your child to be scared for the rest of her/his life. read more

This review is long overdue, but my son had his 5th birthday party here and he and his classmates had the best time. All of the children got turns to ride pony and a horse. Meanwhile we were able to set up food and cake in a playground area where the kids were happy to play after they rode. There were plenty of picnic tables and a covered pavilion. My daughter had a terrible time at this camp. The activities sound great, and the facility looks OK. However it was always RUSH, RUSH, RUSH, to get to the next activity. Never time to stop and smell the roses, so to speak. Some of the counselors were rude, especially the Director's son, Stevie. Others were interested in each other more than the kids as a previous reviewer noted. Why pay to have your child bullied by someone you can't even complain about: Director's son?
