The cost was not bad for the whole family, and kids under 2 are free. There were several various vendors, ice cream truck, taco food truck, and grilled food for sale. Parking was good and easy. My god-daughter enjoyed the pony ride. We definitely enjoyed the entire day here. My god-son fed and petted a few animals.

My kids did the pony ride literally 2 rounds (they wanted to keep going) then they had about 10 minutes in the petting zoo. That costs me around $60 & they do not take credit cards.

My wife came across Graham Equestrian and we decided to give it a try. After such a long time off (moves take a while you know) we opted for private lessons to begin with. Within the first hour long lesson, my daughter did things that she never did in her previous lessons. She had to give the horse a quick brush before and after riding and also had to tack and then untack the horse. During the lesson, my daughter had to almost completely control the horse herself with shouted instructions here and there. Occasionally, if things went really awry, the trainer would come intervene. After a half dozen or so private lessons we began doing group lessons. This gave my daughter experience controlling the horse with other riders and horses around. The instructor my daughter typically has really understands how to connect with her and meet her where she is. I can't say enough about how awesome taking lessons at Graham Equestrian has been. They have allowed my daughter to become a much more independent rider and her instructors have pushed her to do things that she had never done before. Would recommend!

It's pretty huge. In fact, it's Maryland's largest state park. I spent 4 days here camping recently and barely scratched the surface. There are lots of hiking trails for all levels. There are numerous bike trails that are flat and easy, including the famous Torrey C. Brown rail trail that goes for about 20 miles and crosses into Pennsylvania. And there's also a fair amount of mountain bike trails that range from moderate to difficult. There are places to swim and picnic too. All of it is family friendly. Essentially, the park is the land all along both sides of the Little Gunpowder Falls River. You'll just have to see it for yourself. I can recommend Jesse's Trail and Pleasantville area loop for mountain biking; Torrey C. Brown rail trail (an all-weather trail made of crushed stone that's flat and smooth) for both hiking and biking; and Hobo Beach for a dip in the water. Parking can be challenging, so the earlier in the day, the better.

Lots of water to see. Fun fact: I didn't know but Loch Raven Reservoir supplies drinking water for the city of Baltimore!! The Reservoir is pretty popular on Saturdays and Sunday morning, early before 9am. I've never been during the week so I'm not sure of the traffic during those times. 5 stars! I lived in Chase before this park existed. Yet, somehow, before Tuesday, I had only ever visited it…read moretwice - once for an indoor flea market (which sucked), and once for a friend's softball game. I have no real excuse other than depression and an overall lack of adventurous spirit. It's a very nice park, heavy on the sportsball fields. My boyfriend and I went to see if there was anywhere in the park where we could sit near the water and have lunch - unfortunately there is not, which is a bummer because the park DOES sidle up against a small river, but there's no way to see it with all the marsh grasses and such. There are some "viewing platforms" along the Nature Trail, and I suppose at one point they extended further into the water, but drought conditions have put a stop to that. The Nature Trail is pretty great. The path is hard packed, which meant that my chair didn't get stuck - no mud, no sand, hardly any tree roots. We explored the entire length. Didn't see much wildlife (a toad, a crane, and a squirrel), but discovered three different types of mushrooms. Lots of Pokestops, if that's your thing (TeamJerky!). The playground is my favorite thing at the park. It's wheelchair accessible!!! Sure I can't do any climbing, but the fact that I could even access the thing is so wonderful - so I did. Yes, I am a 46-year-old woman and I played on the playground. Didn't have a lot of chances to do that while I was growing up. I'll take the chances now, as they are presented. There's also a small free library house, where you can pick out a new (to you) book. It would be nice if you added one in return. We enjoyed ourselves. Would recommend.
