They will take the time to give you a tutorial and ensure your safety. Weekends are first come, first serve. They go out in groups, so by the time we signed up, paid, and got a quick tutorial, we didn't have a long wait to ride. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who want to ride. Today, My group , DMV Does hosted a group at 10am and 12pm for horseback riding. I've been horseback riding 3 other times on vacation , but this was the best experience riding horses!! My horse name is cheese. The cost is $60 per person. They only accept cash ! The trail of the ride was pretty straight and immediate skill level. Parking is free. Be advised there is no bathroom and there is a porta potty. I found all the cowboys to be very helpful and nice! I would definitely be back! I would recommend this location to anyone! read more

I was venting about how I never been horseback riding to my mom and she purchased me a ticket. The location of this place was not too far from the city to my surprise. My mom, best friend, and I pulled up and were immediately greeted by an employee and the smell. If the smell bothers you, stay home. The horses all look well-kept, and the instructors were very thorough. All the guys working here were sweet and professional, giving educational tidbits along the way.. THE VIEWS WERE SO CALMING! We hopped on our horses and they walked us through a trail of woods, water, and field. The sun shined on my cowboy hat and the horses were very well behaved. While I got scared a couple of times going down hills, my experience was a 10 out of 10. My horse had so much personality, occasionally stopping the show to eat. Our excursion lasted an entire hour, and I enjoyed every second. It didn't feel too long or too short. The price was worth it as well. I would definitely return! read more

I tried setting up my 5th ride with this location today. I've gone every year at least 1x to Piscataway. I made a reservation a few days ago & the gentleman told me to call the morning of to confirm. When I called today (the day of) he told me it was supposed to rain so we'd have to figure out if I could still ride with my friends since it was a possible thunderstorm. I let him know I'd be on a hike for a few hours & would have no service to call & communicate but I would as soon as it was available. It rained during our hike & by the time I got back in the car it was an hr past our (not confirmed yet) reservation. I called to try to set up a new one for the following week & called the gentleman immediately to apologize since again, I had NO service. He told me he already set up the horses & that I didn't call or message him. After reminding him that I had no service & I already told him that - he still said I never called...? Then hung up the phone on me. This is how you treat loyal customers? I post date ideas in Maryland on Tik Tok (@morgsvstheworld) & wanted to promote this local business since it's my favorite farm. I've already told many people to support this spot over the years. But after this treatment I certainly won't be back & wont recommend this spot any longer. read more

We brought our 5 year old granddaughter this past weekend to ride ponies. It's $60 for 1 hour or $40 for 30 minutes (cash only). You sign a safety wavier, given simple Instructions and suggestions and a handful of treats to encourage the pony along. Be sure you wear boots or closed in shoes that you won't mind if they get dirty in the dirt, hay and occasional horse/pony droppings. The pony rides are self lead in a small corral. I came here to horseback ride for the first time in almost a decade. The staff was super friendly upon arrival, they let us walk around the property as we waited for the trail guide. They assign you a horse to ride based on your experience which is nice. My horse's name was Slim, he was an easy going horse, he would gallop a bit to catch up to the horse in front of him. The trail ride was beautiful and relaxing, they even stopped and took pictures for you during the ride. I will come again soon. read more

I took my nine year old daughter here for her birthday (with my 14 year old son, and he actually enjoyed himself). She had a blast riding on the trail. My daughters' horse "Star" was a very gentle horse, did not give my daughter any problems while riding, and was very docile. My daughter enjoyed the ride so much, she wanted to stay for another hour (another trail ride). Last but not least, prior to her riding on her horse, Mr. Ambrose sang Happy Birthday to her. Fun, fun, fun. Trying to be creative on something to do besides eat and binge on Netflix, I found this gem in Clinton, MD. It had been years since I rode a horse but surprisingly I had no issues. I enjoyed seeing all the horses though many looked a little thin (I'm no expert on that issue though). It was a nice trail ride with about 8 or so people. If you want to learn to ride a horse, this is a nice place to go. Just minutes from Washington DC you can come down on a Saturday morning and go for a one hour trail ride for $25. The owners are really nice. They ask you about your experience and pair you up with the right horse. You learn as you go. The trail guides lead you at a slow pace through a trail of mixed scenery. At one point they'll take you through a gallop. It gets the blood pumping and is tons of fun. Make sure you wear pants. At the end of the ride you'll feel like "City slickers". read more

Didn't know what I'd find since their website appears to be down and my call was answered by a recording (that did provide helpful info). They do have a Facebook page that tells you they are walk up only on the weekends. Arrived around 1:40 pm today and my two kids and me were able to do a 2:00 pm 60 minute trail ride for $60 each. Super nice, patient and efficient staff. Don't know much about horses but they seem to be well careful for. Great option close to the DC area. read more

I've taken this ride TWICE. Two different years but each time was memorable. I've ridden Strawberry, and I forget the other's name; but I was told that his "best friend's" name is Chief! Planning to go back in a couple of weeks (before it gets too hot for the summer) and am expecting to have just a positive a time as the others. The tour/scenery is peaceful. There are several great opportunities for photo opps along the path, and the horses know this route VERY well. At one point during my second visit, my horse stopped to "use the bathroom", and suddenly decided he wanted to return home! HILARIOUS! I had no choice but to trust that he knew where he was going. A second cowboy came and "rescued" me (just a colloquial term, I don't believe that I was in any real danger), and returned us to my party. We fully enjoyed spending our last day of spring break here at the stables. My daughter declared the day "one of her best days ever". We called the morning of and showed up at the time recommended by Nick, the gentleman who runs the stables. The staff was great with showing my husband, daughter, and I a recap on how to communicate with the horses. The horses were easy to ride, the trail was easy to maneuver, and the land was relaxing to ride through! Who knew that an affordable trail ride was so close to the Beltway? I'm a grown woman with a leftover love affair of all things equine from my childhood. With money and time and a slightly less urban existence, I'd make sure to regularly keep horses in my life. But that's just not how life goes. I'm thrilled to know now, though, that for $35 and a short car ride away, I can spend an hour atop a horse and feel like a true escape from the city. There is a nice loop in the 250 acres that puts you in both wooded forest and pasture land. Ok, so it's not the perfect set-up for me: trail rides are guided and pretty much at a walk the whole time, not really indulging my need to let it all out and have some fun with the horse. But the horses were healthy, very well-mannered, and happy to be out and about, and the tack was sturdy enough (Western style). I am trying to slowly grow a love of horses in my husband, and this was his second time riding a horse. I asked Nick (the owner and our guide) if we could, perhaps, have at least a little lope for the hubby to experience it, and Nick obliged. The money was well spent when I looked back to see a smile on the hubby's face that matched my own. The stable and area feels very rural. It's not a sparkly clean brand new high-tech facility. It's a place with a lot of history and a way for local people to affordably board their horses. So, you know, don't come expecting the equine Ritz or anything. It feels much more like "home" to local folk and not out to attract city dwellers. Nick was very nice and talked with us on the ride, shared a lot about local history (he's born and raised in the area), asked us questions about our lives with genuine interest. I made the reservation by calling in the morning and arriving in the afternoon - it was that easy. All in all, it is an incredibly pleasant way to spend an hour of your time outdoors, and I hope to get back there again soon! read more

Absolutely adore this place! My husband surprised me with bringing me here as one of my birthday gifts. The staff are SUPER friendly and down to earth. My husband explained that it was my birthday today and the owner (Jon) took my husband and I out on the hour (maybe a little longer) trail; he was awesome to have guide us. His sweet demeanor and knowledge made the trail ride informative and fun. Jon stopped while we were on the trail to give the horses a slight break while he captured photos of us. It was really nice because it was just Jon, my husband, myself, and another horse trainer on our ride. This place is definitely worth the visit. I may try to get back before the weather changes as I really enjoyed this farm. Their horses are beautiful and friendly. They will walk right up to you for you to rub them. You also get to see other farm animals as you approach the stables (i.e. Chickens and hogs). It was just refreshing to be on such a family driven farm land that wasn't nickle and diming everything. $40 per person for a hour ride is a AWESOME deal in this area and I'm definitely going to return. read more

I've been coming here for 15 years.. We go on Sunday's with the family for a one hour trail ride. Everytime we get here we are greeted with such happy and kind people. The trail guides are really cool, they tell you about every animal you see, about every horse and guide you so well on how to properly control your horse. My friend and I showed up and were immediately greeted by the warm staff and pointed to where we needed to go. With in a few minutes they had pulled horses out and we were going over a quick safety brief. We had both been riding since we were kids so we were off on our ride quickly. Our guide was friendly and helpful in correcting my rusty technique. She led us on a beautiful trail that wrapped around the large property, being sure to point out the wildlife we saw along the way. When it was obvious that we were able to ride our guide picked up the pace a bit and we were able to move at a bit faster clip. My horse got a little frightened when I made him go around a corner he wasn't comfortable with and he jumped a bit. Even though this was totally my fault, our guide was very attentive, making sure I and the house were alright before continuing. What a fun activity! We had to reschedule due to rain/muddy trails, but staff quickly contacted us to do so. The ride was super fun and a great and safe change of pace. Staff members were masked and helpful as we mounted up, the ride was fun and through beautiful woods. Petting the horses afterwards and feeding them carrots was a great add on.
