We've sent our thirteen year old twins to Camp Quinebarge for the past two years. We do one two week session. It is a classic summer camp experience for them, with swimming, boating, other sports, woodworking, climbing, ropes courses and ... no phones. There are horses as well, archery, fencing. All of it. There are rituals and routines that get repeated from year to year, a made up currency, and end of session fair. It is exceptionally well managed and the counselors, mostly college aged kids from Europe and Mexico, are open and friendly and get good reports from our kids. Now that they've been twice they have friends from the previous year. As we reluctantly hand back the phones we're grateful they've had this experience. read more

I sent my granddaughter from Florida. She never had such a great time. She was homesick at one point but Nick Hercules helped her. It was an exceptional experience and I would highly recommend the camp to others. read more

History
Established in 1936.
Camp Quinebarge, founded in 1936 by Tom and Ruth Kenly in Moultonborough, NH, is a traditional summer camp on Lake Kanasatka, known for its personalized schedules, unique traditions like Monkeytown, and fostering deep friendships. After the Kenlys, Tom and Barbara Brunelle took over, making it co-ed with Camp Winnetaska in 1975; it later passed to former camper Tom Hannaford in the 80s, and is now run by Eric and Lesley Carlson, who uphold its spirit while offering modern activities like high ropes and tubing, continuing its legacy as a quintessential New England camp.

Camp Quinebarge is absolutely fantastic! This was my daughter's first Sleepaway camp and she missed it so much after her first session that we sent her back! The camp Director Nick is phenomenal came out for a home visit over the winter and really hooked us! Even though she was only there for part of one summer my daughter made lifelong friends. All of the camp counselors were absolutely great. I don't have a bad thing to say. My daughter will be back this year for nearly the full summer! read more

Camp Quinebarge has been a wonderful experience for my granddaughter. She has made friendships that will last a lifetime and learned so much about nature, horses and enjoyed swimming in the lake. The director Nick Hercules does a great job of making camp the most welcoming, fun and genuine for everyone. We look forward to many more summers full of hiking, campfires and the best time for campers. read more

My dad went here in the '80s and shared the experience with me and my sister when we were growing up. Camp Q has taught me so much, I've made lifelong friends I would never have met otherwise, and it is one of the places I feel safest in the world. Camp Quinebarge fosters a safe, loving, kind community, and I am honored to be able to call it my home. Once a Quinebarger, always a Quinebarger. read more

We just picked up our daughter from two weeks at camp. This is her third summer and once again it was an outstanding experience. Our older daughter is still there. She's asked for two more weeks before school starts. This camp has helped my daughters grow in so many ways, and I'll always be extremely grateful that we found it. read more

We were so nervous to send our daughter to overnight camp for the first time, but the counselors were amazing and my daughter immediately fell in love, so much so that she went back for an additional 2 weeks! We couldn't be more grateful for the staff and amazing directors who were so involved and supportive! read more
