Everything went great, at first. I used the email services on the website and was called back fairly quickly about my situation and needing aid from an accountant. My appointment was for the next day so I was automatically feeling good about the whole situation (money owed to the IRS from a previous marriage). My appointment came, and all of my papers were accessed and I was told a few options of what could be done and what would happen. The accountant (and I will not name names, but upon me going to get my things I was treated even worse Jim Wilhelm) had no idea what he was supposed to do in my case. I do understand that sometimes you need to research in order to a decent job. Giving the benefit of the doubt I left my things as requested if I wanted to hire them. Soon thereafter, I received corresponding emails for some legal documents that apply to my case and they were sent. Later that day I get a response that the IRS might not be willing to work with me, but to just give my bank account info so they could set me up with a payment plan, something I could have done myself. Not only was it the lack of confidence I had in my representative but the last part of the email where he had asked for half of my 'payment' to them upfront. Which I would have had no trouble paying, I called the office and explained my confidence dilemma and I was directed back to my accountant. Our phone conversation was less then I had hoped, he was not rude but what he said fairly insulted me. I informed him I did not have a steady income and any payments to the IRS and his office would fall on my now husband and that he was paying their office, but I wanted to make sure my payment to the IRS was as low as possible. He said, "You can see where my worry comes in, after your email I was worried about how you planned to pay us." I had explained in my email, that they would be paid and I was looking to lower my payments to the IRS, not the company I hired to help me. From that point I felt belittled and insulted that the people I hired to help would think that lowly of me. This place may have some okay associates but he is not one of them. Go somewhere else. **Updated I wasn't going to write this but they left me no choice** I went to pick up my stuff and I was left standing at the reception desk and out comes the accountant attempting to get me to the back room and talk about things. I tried to explain I will not be using their services after the email (and told them to cease any activity within 12 hours of them having my information) and he still proceeded to attempt and charge me $110. He did nothing but send me insulting emails and make me do the foot work in answering a lot of questions. His response, "In addition, can you please stop by or call our office at 352-683-7365 and speak with Rebekah Hooks (or you can email Rebekah this information, she is copied on my response) about a payment for our services before we pursue writing letters to the IRS to have the taxes reduced. At this point, we would like to have $125 (half of the quoted fee) and then the remainder after submitting the letter to the IRS." - no services RENDERED and he still tried to bill me. read more
