There's a cool little demonstration garden and a roughly 1km path around the perimeter of the park spotted with benches and young trees. At the far side there are two lookout decks with views of the wetlands and the airport. On the other side of the creek there are off the beaten path trails where you could take your dog off-leash for a walk in the wetlands. To the east of the parking lot there is a trail that will take you to am underpass to cross Fraser Highway to continue your walk that way. On the far side of the park you'll find a memorial for Afganistan War Vets. It's really a nice spot to sit and reflect and will be even more so when the trees grow in to dampen the noise from the highway. The north side of the park just in the other side if the memorial has a path that will connect you with 56th Avenue should you wish to continue walking that direction. This is a great park to bring grandparents or small children to. There is decent nature to look at without any strenuous walking involved. Or you could walk around the path 5 or 6 times to get a bit of a workout in. Either or.

What a lovely park, just a block from one of the main thoroughfares in Fort Langley (Mavis Street),…read moreright down Church Street, over the railroad tracks and at the juncture of Church and the Fraser River. My kid and I were not looking for a park when we stumbled upon this area. We wanted to go for lunch at one of the cute cafe/restaurants and we were just driving around the area, looking for a place to park. And what luck, that we drove down Church, to this park! There are two large parking lots here, flanking Church Street. Free parking, I might add. Ample spots for lots of cars. This is prime parking, and we will always now come here to park when we visit Fort Langley. We explored the park a bit before heading to Mavis Street and Glover Street (the other main road). And we were so impressed. They have viewing areas on the Fraser River, and picnic areas, and a boat launch close by. The city's website says there are bathroom facilities here, too, but I didn't see them. What I did see is a gorgeous trail on wooden boardwalks running parallel to the river, under a canopy of trees. (The city map says this trail is called the Trans Canada Trail). It is so pristine here, and immaculately clean, and peaceful. So peaceful.

First it is located on a section of the river where you can clearly see all the housing on the opposite side of the river from your site. The sites are also located out of the trees just up from the beach. This means that there is no privacy whatsoever between sites. I don't know about other Yelpers but I like a little bit of privacy in my camping spots you know a tree or three between spots is nice. I think the real draw for this camp ground though is probably fishing. Seeing as it is located on the shores of the Fraser River it is probably a good place to catch a fish or two. I guess it would also be a good place to take your children if you had any for a first camping trip to see if they even like camping. Bathrooms here are all outhouses and there are no services provided here. That means no power and no flushing! At least they have that part of camping right!

The dry spell during spring/summer means the waterfall is more like a trickle. Cliff falls is now a…read morenarrow stream going over part of the rocks. I looked at others' pictures and could now see the difference. Most of the rocks are barely covered by the water. The interesting part now seeing the perfect round holes in the rocks. I guess those holes were formed by erosion when the falls was in full power, gushing over the rocks. We certainly need more rain to fill the creek. It is quite an easy hike/walk to the falls. Some parts have bridges and steps to help navigate. There are picnic tables and benches in the clearing so you can rest and refresh. Bins are there for garbage. We didn't walk to the hatchery area as the heat got to us. Nice place. I will be back to check out the salmon hatchery next time and hopefully the waterfall will be at its usual size. Parking is available at the lot next to the baseball field.

Heritage Park is the best park in Mission for me to walk around to get fresh air and exercise. Even…read moreon its dreariest days, it is still a great walkabout. The landscape and forestry is vast and beautiful, and the gravel trails are consistent with the layout of the park. I even like the sight of the cemetery and garden beds that I pass by while walking. This park is a hot spot for a lot of events and attractions. There is also the Sunflower Lodge, which is a great eatery. A lot of people have judged this park harshly on the fact that it was located at a residential school, where aboriginal kids have been abused. I try to see the beauty in the scenery rather than the dark history that occurred behind it. I was even at the Stolo Nation ceremony they held at Heritage Park, where people of Aboriginal descents delineate on the dark history and suffrage behind the residential schools while taking solace on the recognition of the truth and expressing their hardships through their ceremonies. Overall, I enjoy coming to Heritage Park whenever I feel like going outdoors and embrace nature.

There are several kilometers of scenic landscape trails within the park area, boasting a variety of plants and trees. It is also the site of 2 former residential schools. The is offers multiple education opportunities that include: Aboriginal settlements, customs and livelihood, the horrific history of residential schools and the long term, multi generational trauma experienced by the descendants of aboriginal settlers as a result of the residential schools. The name of the park and dedicated memorials are a work in progress to more accurately reflect the history of the site. The park is also home to many festivals and community events (events were suspended due to the pandemic). There is also a lovely restaurant-the Blackberry Kitchen on site. Be sure and call for reservations and opening closing times.

Plenty of people come here and book designated picnic tables to celebrate special occasions as many of them have bbq option. Else just the lake side view for any celebration is enough. I have taken many hikes around this beautiful lake and seen breathtaking views so you must go as well. The whole park is huge and I must say I could not explore in just one visit. So you got to come back to it again and again. Enjoy hikes with beautiful lake view but be careful around here as it is pretty wild and some of the trails are not for first timers.

Beautiful park in north eastern Surrey that is very dog friendly (verrry large off leash area),…read moreoutdoor picnic tables, hot coal bin for barbecues, hatchery, several creeks, restrooms and a few parking lots. The paths are almost all flat, easy, wide and well marked. Can be a quite deserted/quiet on weekdays. One thing I don't like about this park is how isolated the main parking lot feels on weekdays. Signs indicate car break-ins are an issue. I don't think I'd feel safe coming alone as a female if it was a weekday or if it wasn't bright. But a very nice and walkable park on bright, sunny days w friends/family.
