Absolutely beautiful! There's no way that you won't feel blessed to be in British Columbia! The park hosts some zip lining and other sports which are closed due to Covid however, we could see people camping and it must be an amazing experience to so. Just the drive through the park is relaxing in itself and head to Aoulette lake for views to die for!! Lots of picnic tables and quiet place for a family day out. Head out there to clear your head!!

When you've lived in Pacific Northwest you know how much rain there is per year. It's no surprise that on the day of our hike it just poured rain and we loved it! Golden ears is usually our go to campsite when we lived here but this time we visited Alouette Beach instead. We started our hike to check out loop trail and after 30 mins we decided to turn around after seeing a fresh steaming bear skat. I'm not surprised as the park was bare and quiet. So instead we just enjoyed the beach area, had our coffee and sat under a canopy of a huge pine tree! The washrooms were clean, again not a lot of people. There were park rangers cleaning tables and trimming weeds far away from where we're camped, so they're just up keeping the park. I'd love to come back again when it's sunny! I hope to check out more of our favourite hike sites soon!

My friends and me went there around 8am to keep two tables for 13 people. It was right choice because around 10am, almost of the tables were occupied. What a pleasant place! In the morning, water is so clear and quiet. Bunch of Geese eating their breakfast. They fly away after park crowded and came back late afternoon. Our tables were under big trees so that we can have shade and enjoy hammock. Maybe the best spot. I felt very safe even no life guard on duty.

This spot is great but it's cold and windy! Reservations this site isn't too hard, it's like many other spots

We recently went on a day trip in the evening to get out of the house and it was a nice experience. There seemed to be a lot of people leaving as we headed here only during the last hour of the parks opening hours. It may be hard to Patrice social distancing if you happen to choose a busy location at the park. Which I know is very important for a lot of people during the pandemic, and we should all try our best to help flatten the curve. I would recommend going early or later in the evening, to avoid the large crowds. The views are beautiful, from all locations around the park. There is a variety of things to do here including hiking, walking, exploring the beach, camping, swimming, boating, or just having lunch. I most definitely recommend going to this location once everything is back to normal and it's safe for everyone!

Golden Ears Park Gold Creek campgrounds Maple Ridge, BC, Canada.     We r so lucky to live in Vancouver at any price. Would live no where else period. The southern coast parks are contained amid lush recreational mountains and majestic rivers, lakes, creeks & Delta's that surround Vancouver and it's mainland.Vancouver offers an abundance for almost anything u can dream up to be enjoyed by both summer and winter outdoor enthusiasts alike, which leads me to our camping trip to Gold Creek in Golden Ears Maple Ridge. It's easy to see exactly why ppl flock in droves like lemmings from all points of the globe to vacation here. Our pristine campgrounds are outstanding from Chilliwack to Golden Ears and are relatively quick and convenient to travel to. While getting on the expensive side of cheap, our rustic BC campgrounds are still beautiful opportunities to do everything or just do nothing and chill al fresco. I love the no cell,no Wi-Fi mindfulness thing when I camp, I don't even wanna hear a radio. When I camp I prefer to connect with the outdoors and just take in the sounds of my forest environment...such a vast variety of bird melodies I heard daily from sunrise to eventide. I go "Hippie" when I camp and after all,....ain't that the point? Let's get to the deets... The Wife suggested a change this year so we deviated from the usual Maple Bay campgrounds in Chilliwack to a closer more local destination in Maple Ridge and right off the top you shave almost 40 minutes off the long Chilliwack commute. Bonus 1. Gold Creek is a beautifully preserved rustic campground with a natural 'forest' feel with a  canopy of towering trees anchored by lush mossy hills and small woodsy fields between campsites. Bonus 2. While we were in TD 48 and directly near a road, we barely noticed the traffic as it was generally quiet from early evening until 10 am. Bonus 3. The lay out of Gold Creek campgrounds was not the best thought out options possible...access to pit toilets could be improved and trails to pit toilets were absent here as opposed to other provincial campgrounds which conveniently have well placed paths joining campground 'streets' creating  paths from multiple directions to make for easy access for all. The absence of an electric socket in the ladies bathroom was disappointing for my Wife too! Gold Creek campgrounds shower/toilet facilities: Multiple clean toilet stalls, a private functional handi-cap shower stall, a semi-private urinal, 2 sinks,4 mirrors and a hand blow dryer complete the well maintained bathroom facilities. Bonus 4. NB: Maintenance/cleaning is typically 15 minutes of no bathroom access between 8:30 -  8:45am daily. The facilities are well maintained by accommodating staff, as a matter of fact all staff and rangers were pleasant helpful and genuinely eager to help. Bonus 5. Beach/ Picnic area: Full shower/bathroom facilities, multiple toilet/changing stalls, clean and well kept. Swimming friendly, garbage cans, BBQ coal disposal cans, water. Free parking. Trail from campgrounds 1 km to beach. NB: a charge of $12 cdn is charged daily for any second vehicle per site. Not so bonus. Park ur second vehicle in visitor parking at 10pm and waive the fees as we were told by the check in agent. Sorta bonus...better than paying daily and enjoy the extra cash with some smores ( Which u can buy from on the store here btw....which leads us to the store at Gold Creek campgrounds....wow...they haven't forgotten a thing, so no worries if u forgot something, they'll probably have it but for a price. Again, super friendly warm staff here too! The store is very handy but expensive. Visa/debit available, long hours and ice too! Super natural BC indeed! I loved our quiet 4 day mindfulness retreat...u will too if u camp at Gold Creek...full of camping bonuses and such a pristine campground! Price: around $36/day cdn  ( + $12/day cdn second vehicle ) is not cheap and you typically need to reserve 3 months in advance but u will not regret a single moment or nickel spent. Golden Ears is only an hour east of Vancouver and we always meant to get out to this park to do some hiking. Our first experience brought us into the park for an overnight of camping with friends. We stayed in the Allouette campground in the Dogwood section. This one is a very family and dog friendly camp ground. There's a playground for the kids and also a beach with an incredible view of the surrounding mountains. Really this whole area is so lovely. I felt all my stresses just ease out of my body almost immediately after our arrival. We cooked dinner in the fire pit on our camp site. It's best to check first for the current fire restrictions. As I said, this particular campground is kid friendly and we all know what hours children can keep when they're out all day in that fresh clean air: (7am: *oh god what are those screeching sounds?* ) We were of course, up late in the evening enjoying the astounding night sky. The Big Dipper jumped out at me like a neon lite and you really do forget how many stars there actually are visible when you don't have urban light pollution. There are literally hundreds of sites in there, some are more treed while others are surrounded by the creek but they're all pretty nice. Maps of campgrounds are clearly marked. I'm not crazy about camping on a gravel ground, I prefer grass campgrounds but this is in a temperate rain forest, so I can understand the logic. The fern and moss growth in some parts of this park have an almost "Jurassic Park" look. I'm looking forward to returning for many camping outings at this easily accessible park.

Named after the "Golden Ears" peaks of the mountains that shadow the park. I have camped here for many years, clean and private sites, nice washrooms, miles of trails, waterfalls, a huge lake and sandy beaches are just a few of the highlights, this is a jem of the provincial park system, can be busy on summer weekends, i tend to go off season or mid week. campfire and stars at night....beauty

Golden Ears Provincial Park is close enough to the city and it feel like you've gone super far because you're in the great outdoors. There are many quite a few lakes, the main one being Alouette lake. There are also many trails there, one of them being lower falls trail to see the Gold creek waterfall. The day area of the lake is very family friendly, there are many picnic tables and large areas for picnic blankets. It's hard to get lost inside golden ears because there is only one main road, and there are many signs posted telling you where places are. It's also a great place to camp, there are shower and washroom facilities, as well as faucets around the camp sites. Would I come back? Definitely!

This review is for the hiking trails in the park only as I have never stayed in any of the front country campgrounds here. This park has some of the most beautiful temperate rainforest landscape out there. There are at least a few trails for every fitness level. The lower falls trial is a good trial for almost any fitness level and it leads to a very pretty waterfall along Gold Creek (there is an upper falls if you are adventurous). The East Canyon Trail is the next step up with sections of flat trail with some bigger ups and downs mixed in (don't get yourself into trouble by over stepping your bounds!). This trail eventually leads to a lake named Hector Ferguson Lake after you wade through Gold Creek at low water levels. The ultimate trail in the park and its most difficult by far is the trail extending after the West Canyon Trail up to the actual Golden Ears themselves. If you are not fit do not attempt this trail, as you will get yourself into lots of trouble. The trail itself is a 24km round trip with a elevation gain of 1521m (this is not accumulated which is over 2000m). Snow hangs onto the peaks past the backpacking campground (Alder Flats) until late Summer so care must be taken reviewing snow pack. These are just three of many trials in the park so get out and enjoy our great outdoors! Do not forget there are lakes here to fish and explore by boat as well if you are so inclined to do that!

Prices are pretty reasonable and we chose the two hour option due to our limited time during the sunset period. The staff were busy but friendly and assisted us with our kayaks. They will brief you about the kayaks, safety and where to go. Now, I would select a longer time to truly appreciate Deep Cove's natural beauty when you aren't dodging other kayaks or boats. The traffic can be somewhat chaotic in the summer time and it is main area for a lot of boaters heading out of the cove. We kayak around three islands within our two hour option, but didn't relax as much as we want. Again, the salt water, slight wind, and being in the 80's made it a wonderful but brief time.

Our guides were knowledgeable and got us in and out of our kayak without us getting our feet wet. I didn't give five stars for two reasons. First, the two guides seemed a bit lax, they mostly paddled with us instead of taking lead and sweep positions, despite the fact that two out of the six of us had never kayaked before. They did look back periodically to check on everyone, but it was still strange compared to other kayak tours I've been on. Second, they didn't take pictures of us, other tours I've been on do it as a matter of course and email or post pictures to everyone. Still, this was a very worthwhile experience, and everyone enjoyed the views, the seals we saw in the water, etc., and no one had trouble keeping up despite the wind and the range of both ages and kayaking experience.

It costed $125 to go River Rafting but it included the wetsuit, lunch and other gears. Also they posted pictures of our River Rafting session on Facebook for us to download. My friends haven't done the Canyon one so it was new to them. They loved it as it was even more challenging and had more dips and rapids. I sat in the front of the raft with another friend, Lee. We got hammered by the big splash of water whenever our raft would dip down over the rocks and rapids. Our guide this time was Sam, he was great and funny. My friends can be a little 'excited' so I'm glad he was able to play along with their antics. The weather was insane yesterday. It was sunny when we drove there from Vancouver however by the time we got changed and started to take the bus to the starting point, it was snowing. Yes, that's right. It was snowing. When we got into the raft and while Sam was explaining the commands, it turned to hail and then rain. The first part of rafting, it was raining. By the time we finished, it was sunny so we had 4 seasons of weather. It made for an even better experience. There were only 2 rafts this time. Last time I went, there was 8 rafts. With only 2 rafts, it was better and more personable as we are able to joke around a bit more. They have a small sauna shack so when we got back, we basically went there to warm up. Again, I recommend coming here for rafting.
