Often my measuring stick for mexican restaurants is Arroz con pollo, or if I'm really digging, a mole poblano sauce. Camperos does a really nice arroz con pollo we just had as a lunch special. The sauce with mushrooms has just right, and the chicken was as well. The pico de gallo was the way I do it, and the table rojo sauce also. The place is good, and we'll be back. read more

Camping in Bridgeport, WA..Stopped into this Mexican restaurant while we were in this sleepy little town doing our laundry.. our first impression was amazement!! Like we walked into Mexico!! The chairs and booths were all hand carved and brightly painted.. almost all the tables were full and everyone was having a great time! .. the waitress was very attentive and after we received our drinks, the owner came over and took our lunch order. I've searched miles and miles for pico that's even a quarter as good as this, the lime compliments the boldness of the rest of the party in my mouth. I have yet to find it.so, pico = orgasmic. I let's journey to the land of the main dish! Yes, folks, I'm talking about the mole!! So, you can get different kinds of mole, depending on the region where the food originates. My favorite is the one with chocolate in it. Well, this is that! The mole was so perfect with a mix of sweet and savory. It was so good, I really didn't need any tortillas. But, c'mon, carbs are yummy. I want to give mention to the refried beans. I'm not a fan of them, normally, because in my opinion, they tend to be a bit on the bland side. Nope, not these. So flavorful that I doubt they were canned. Let me tell you, I devoured them like they were nuggets of gold. This is one of those family owned businesses where the employees know the locals by name. (Granted, it's in a really small town) The servers were extremely attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was great. I really enjoyed my meal, and I could tell my friend loved his food too. I am not going to lie though, I was a little surprised by their price tag. I live in Seattle, and I assumed that a restaurant in this part of the state would cost significantly less. I mean, it's not a rip off or anything because their food is good, I was just surprised to see little difference between this restaurant and what I would find in Seattle in terms of cost. First we surprised at entering the restaurant how big it was. It is furnished with beautiful Tlaquepaque tables and chairs with Brewster scenes. The food and service were very good. This place is terrible... totally ripped me off on my take out order. Got my order wrong... I ordered soft tacos; they gave me soggy hard shell tacos, we couldn't even eat them, they were gross. Charged me almost $5.00 a taco for 30 taco's. Shorted me on the salsa - charged me $10.00 for pico-de-gallo that was awful. The best part of the meal was the refried beans and rice. So disappointing. Update: so sad to see how downhill this place has gotten. I had a rude waiter, no AC, and someone outside was sitting on my car. My food looked like mush and the guacamole looked borderline brown. I got maybe a table spoon of guacamole and a tablespoon of sour cream costing me $1.75 for the deluxe version of a tostada. I won't be back unless I hear an apology from this place. The waiter, when I asked for a dietary special request said "we don't do that here" without even taking the time to understand what I was asking. And NOT consulting the manager or owner. So now, I can't even park safely and need to worry about my car while I eat. Nope. Oh! I asked them to turn on the AC and they said they would and never did. My side where I was sitting by myself was warm and no ac and the other side where everyone else was had AC. I wondered why they didn't just sit me where everyone else was. This is a local Mexican restaurant that I have been going to for years. It is always a great experience. The food is always amazing!

This place was horrendous and that is not being over dramatic. This place's had mid food and their service was a bit disappointing, but what really got to me was the ants. Me and my family did not know that there were ants until me and my family found ants in our food, once we started looking they were everywhere on the seat,table,food, and us. What really made me sick to my stomach is when we told them and they didn't to try to help us with the problem instead they tried blaming it on the soda machine and making it seem that they were in there. And if they were in the soda machine that is still a major safety hazard and should not be allowed. After that they were quick to give us our bill that was way overpriced for the food when it was not even that good. They also almost forgot my two sisters food and didn't even apologize After that they made sure to push us out the restaurant and lock the doors even tho there were still people inside. Im now at our campsite and I still feel like I have ants crawling all over me and I'm sick to my stomach and feel the need to throw up. Was impressed with the food, before dinner you got the usual chips and salsa, but in addition a cabbage base dip and beans for your chips. My wife had the chili relleno. The portion size was nice and the flavor was good. I had the pork carnitas, I was very impressed with the quality of the meat and the flavor. My wife, who normally doesn't like pork at all, really liked the flavor of the carnitas. Drinks were good - we like ours a little more sour and they were very accommodating in giving us extra lime. It was too die for! We came here twice in 2 days. Had the chicken Chimichunga, tamale, Chili Verde, and Chili Relleno. All were excellent. Ate too much because it was so good! Even the refried beans were freshly made and flavorful. The ground beef hard taco had good flavor but have been better with chunk beef and a freshly fried tortilla.
