If you're looking to get your film developed here, don't. I understand things happen and machines go down, but leaving customers questioning when they'll receive their film is just not right. I dropped off film SIX WEEKS ago and was never contacted about a delay because their scanner went down. I called around week 3 and was told "oh the part should be here any day now and we'll have your film done". Okay perfect no problem. Then I waited and waited. Called again at week 5 and was told the exact same thing. Well at week 6 on the dot I decided to go in the store to check the status of my film. When I walked in they said "oh the scanner part comes today!" Just like they've been saying for 3 whole weeks. During the entire month and a half wait, they never developed my film or contacted me to let me know there would be delays. If you want to run a business the right way, communicate with your paying customers. It is truly devastating to be promised so many times that things are getting done, but never are. read more

These guys truly are the best. For a local camera shop, this is as good as it gets. Their knowledge and service best explains why they're one of the only ones still around and still in business. One of their owners, Dan, truly went above and beyond when I wanted the latest and greatest Nikon camera. If anyone knows anything about the release of the Nikon D800 and D4, you'll know that the big boys (B&H and Adorama) completely dropped the ball on delivery for their customers. Not Campus Camera. These guys kept you up-to-date on availability and wasted no time in delivering this amazing camera system. The best part about this store is their knowledge of product. Anytime I've had a repair, I avoid the manufacturers repair depots with long waits and poor service. Instead, Campus Camera has more connections with the best repair people in the business. Want to try a lens? Just bring in your camera and they'll let you try a lens and go outside and all over their grounds to try it. Good luck getting B&H to let you more than three feet away from their counter at their NYC Superstore to try that. They hooked me up for an out of warranty shutter replacement for under $200, the manufacturer quoted me $350. This breathed a whole new life into my camera and my side business, and it bought me time to wait for the next generation release of a camera. Sure, some things are cheaper elsewhere, and you'd save on sales tax by using the big guys, but I like Campus Camera's knowledge of product and that I can walk out of their shop with product in-hand the day I purchase. So, it's a trade off--save on shipping from the big guys, but pay sales tax & walk out of the shop with equipment in hand by going to C.C. When Nikon had to recall their EL-15 batteries, these guys came out on top... delivering me replacements faster than anyone in the U.S. and Canada. They truly saved the day for my next shoot. Their continued fantastic customer service has solidified me as a lifelong loyal customer. read more

You simply can't do better than Campus Camera when it comes to buying cameras or camera equipment. The knowledge of the staff is amazing....they know every feature of every camera. They take trades (who does that anymore?). Their prices are competitive....especially when you factor in the EXCELLENT customer service. I was out of state recently and called the camera company direct when I had a problem. They were no help at all...wanted to charge me a minimum of $180.. Once I got back home, I took the camera to Dan @ CC and he was able to get it fixed for $10. I have learned my lesson....never call the company direct, ALWAYS take my camera back to the great guys at Campus Camera! Seriously, you may save a buck or two ordering online, but you will never get the excellent level of knowledge and personal customer service that Campus Camera provides. Wow literally the worst customer service I have ever received. They are getting 1 star because it won't let me rate them 0. When I first arrived the people who work here were so incredibly rude. They awkwardly stare at you and don't even ask if you need anything. I had asked for my parents wedding video that was on VHS to be transferred to a jump drive. I had asked of it specifically on a jump drive because my laptop (like most laptops) doesn't have a DVD reader. They said that they convert it to a DVD but then can transfer it to a jump drive for an additional price. I told them that was fine and asked how long it would take. They said about a week. Well 3 weeks passed and no call. So I called them on a Monday and they said it would be done by that Friday. Another 3 weeks passed for them to finally call me, and when they did, they didn't even leave a voicemail, which is very unprofessional. So when I finally went in to pick up my video the guy that helped me was a very rude old man. He couldn't find my video and was very condescending asking if they "even called me to tell me it was done". To which I replied yes you just called me today saying it was done. Then when he found the DVD, he almost over charged for the jump drive because they didn't even put it on the jump drive like I asked! They only put it on the DVD! I questioned them on it and they said nothing. They didn't apologize or anything! So they made me wait 6 weeks just to not even do what I asked them to do. I didn't even bother to ask for them to transfer it again to a jump drive. I don't trust these people. Knowing them it wouldn't get done till next year, if at all. Highly disappointed with this company. Very unprofessional. I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

Do yourself a favor and buy your camera equipment here. I have been a customer here for many years, I wouldn't call myself a regular ( photography is an expensive hobby!). The staff are all friendly and very knowledgeable and will spend the time with you that is needed to help you make an informed purchase.
