Campus Crossings on Highland is an excellent choice if you're a college student going to LSU. It's not bad as far as college apartments go and the staff has always been very friendly and accommodating with me. Pros + Close to Campus; allows you to walk to all of your classes (If you're a student) + Walking distance to plenty of food areas, A few bars and a Convenience Store across the street + Friendly and Helpful (at least in my experience) staff + Variety of events for a "community setting" such as movie viewings. Especially nice for freshmen college students. Cons - It's college apartments, so you can expect to hear noise from time to time during the night. - Can be viewed as a little expensive compared to other options. BEWARE!!!! I moved in August 2021, My apartment was poorly cleaned with prior tenants items still remained in cabinets, washer,and dryer. Also, carpet was not cleaned with multiple stains. Several major appliances were inoperationa;l stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and air-conditioner. Along with ceiling fan and kitchen sink faucet sprayer were in- operational. I immediately knew my apartment was not ready for movein. I asked for another apartment; however, I was informed that it was not another one available. Instead I was assured that maintenance would complete all deficiencies for my new home. Update. Currently, after numerous of maintenance requests and excuses I am still faced with deficiencies that are unacceptable such as the bottom of refrigerator holds water from leaking inside and runs on my floor and I hear loud noises coming from it throughout the day. I have dealt with food spoilage! Also the carpet still has not been cleaned, yes I am forced to live on prior tenant germs during COVID! The most disturbing issue is that management does not response to my deficiencies concerns. Instead they have turned a deaf ear I even asked to be release from my lease since the apartment complex is NOT committed to the responsibilities. I was told that's not possible, while I am left to continue my responsibilities of payment $1,100.00 monthly. Which I have paid on time regardless of poor service. read more

I hope you NEVER need to reach maintenance at the Campus Crossing at Highlands after hours. They locked my son out of his apartment even though the rent is being automatically withdrawn from my account. He came home for a month and went back to a changed lock. We called the emergency number listed and they told us maintenance will call us in 15 minutes, 5 calls and 6 hours later, I am still waiting. There was no communication on the portal or emails alerting us to the fact that they were going to change the locks for reasons that we have no idea. Very poor management and communication. You will never have a working AC, mine went out every month and at one point it was out for a week while it was over 100 degrees outside. Their solution? Not to actually fix it, they gave us portable ACs to put in and brought the temperature down six degrees but it's still 82 in the apartment even with them. Also the electric bill was triple the normal amount because of it. I should've known this would've happened when it was out the first day I moved in. Another perk I had when I moved in was a cockroach problem. There were cockroaches everywhere before I even put my stuff into the apartment. I had to complain to the front desk every week so they can spray and it only reduced the bugs by half but it didn't stop them. Another thing you may not know is there is a pipe in the bathroom that drips water down into your tub if your AC is on and working. Not sure which bright idea this was, but I have never even heard of it being a thing before I came here. You want a nice, relaxing bath? Well maybe it will be relaxing if you are okay with cold, moldy water dripping on your head while you are soaking yourself. Also, don't even bother bringing a dog, their yard is flea infested. My dog was on flea medication provided by the veterinarian, and there was no stronger product to be used, but I still had to bomb my carpet because of the fleas that came in. I ended up just leaving my dog at home (I live on a farm and never had this issue with my Great Pyrenees, by the way). There are also multiple people who don't have their dogs on leashes so they run up to your dog, possibly to "play" but you don't know that. Most of the time those people can't control those dogs that aren't on leashes so even if you had a problem with their German Shepherd, you can't expect them to help. If you love the smell of weed, you will love this place. It seems that everyone but us are lighting up, and it is absolutely awful when it mixes with the cigarette smoke smell (which people on the first floor are always smoking so you never get away from it). They also like to tell you how "secure" the apartments are because of the gates, but the walking gates don't even close and lock, and the big gate for the cars are always broken and left open. There goes the security for this place. I haven't even mentioned the state of the apartment when I moved in much either. It was absolutely disgusting with old pee in the toilets and liquid smeared all over the counters. The walls also have gaping holes all over them, and I was scrubbing the whole place for an entire day before I felt okay with stepping into the place (you know, besides the roaches that kept coming). You would be better off at almost any other apartment place, I have not met anyone who had as bad a time as people in Campus Crossings have had. Good luck on your search for a plave read more

Where do I begin with the infamous Campus Crossings? They will find every possible way to make your life unenjoyable while you live here. AC? Always is going out. Towing your car? They have no problem towing a resident's car if they don't have an updated parking pass that Campus Crossings made no effort to give you. Management? An ever-revolving door of people who always think they are right and do not act in the best interest of their residents. They do not care what you have to say about their property. Please do NOT move here ! Not quite sure where to start . When I first moved in things were okay , but a month after I moved in they fined me and my roommate for trash that we weren't even responsible for and I thought that was pretty strange but paid for it anyway . But main reason I would not recommend moving to the one on highland is because I renewed my lease with my roommate for another year but long story short they canceled my lease and sold my room to another person without my knowledge and didn't find out until the last few days of me having to move out . Crazy part about that is I had to call them and find out that my lease was no longer available! I did not receive any emails nor instructions about moving out so imagine moving all of your stuff out at the last minute thinking you had another year to live there.Another issue I had was the tenets would walk around with their dogs without a leash , one dog actually tried to jump me and was running away from him and last time I check I thought the rule was to keep the dogs on a leash and clearly not doing a good job reminding them because everywhere I go every dog owner would walk with their dogs without a leash . One good thing I have to say about that place are the maintenance they're pretty much di their and on point . But please do not move here I'm glad that I moved to a better place where it's not grimy like the student apartments repeat do not move there read more

I am currently a resident here and it's a total scandal. When I first moved in my ac wasn't working . I put in a work order more than once and finally I got so hot I had my dad come fix it for me . Maintenance is horrible . Everything breaks and they never come and fix it . The gate clicker barely works and they have roaches . One specific leasing agent is a total bitch ! This is the worst establishment on the earth! The staff is rude and incompetent. My roommate and I were charged $75 for merely and accidentally putting our garbage RIGHT BESIDE the actual dumpster. EXCUSE ME I could not physically lift up the 30 pounds of trash that I literally could not carry the mile and a half distance the actual dumpster is from my apartment! WE HAVE TO DRIVE TO THROW AWAY OUR TRASH!!! Why are we paying the absurd amount we do each month to just get charged another fee WITHOUT a warning. The staff is very nice and it is very close to campus. The only bad thing I have to say is that a lot of the things in my apartment break and I am constantly calling maintenance. The maintenance men are nice and help fast. My dyer is broken and my fire alarm gets fixed then goes off again. Our dish washer broke and water was leaking on the floor for a couple days. I like living here otherwise. I think it is worth it and not too expensive for a college student. read more

I was visiting my friend late one night and my car was towed from their lot. My friend does not own a car so the spot my car would have taken up in that lot is inconsequential. This apartment complex uses Riverside towing to tow cars from their lot and does not provide that information openly on their website. Riverside towing is known for being predatory and unfair (do some research). It disgusts me that a complex would support such practices in our community. While I do not live here, I have been privy to the complex's frequent security and management issues. They are a gated complex but their vehicle gates are frequently broken, the gates that mitigate access to the complex's common areas often do not close, and the incline from highland into their parking lot is very steep and scratches the bottom of my vehicle. In addition to this, they have extremely inconvenient front desk hours. I understand that living close to campus is great for students but be sure to do your research before choosing to live here and ensure that the proximity to campus is worth this complex's shortcomings and support for crappy local businesses. Suffice to say, I would not recommend this apartment complex to anyone who wants a reasonable and irrefutably safe experience near LSU. Look somewhere else or live a little further from campus. read more

I love living here! It's so close to campus you can walk to class. Office staff is very nice and helpful all the time. There are many events hosted by the apartment every month. Campus Crossings on Highland is an amazing place to live! I have lived here for 1 year and I know that I chose the right place to live. I moved to Louisiana from Ohio and did not know a single person, but the staff at campus crossings always made me feel right at home. They make it their point to know everyone by name, which makes you feel more welcomed and a part of the community. I love living here because it is so close to campus and the apartments are really nice. The ceilings are higher than most apartments making the place feel more spacious, you get your own bathroom and a walk-in closet, and they have a lot of nice amenities in the clubhouse. The only problems I've ever encountered here are spotty wifi and slow maintenance. Other than that the staff is really friendly and really try to do whatever you need. They also have community events that are fun to attend. read more
