Not sure why my last review is hidden... ??? But here it is again: If i could give 0 stars I would. Don't fall for the tour- they only show you the "highlights" of the property (gym, leasing office, pool)- never any living units. It makes sense because those are the ONLY NICE areas. Once you go beyond those doors, it is absolutely disgusting. The amount of dead bugs, spiderwebs, vomit, food scraps, and beer cans all over the stairs and hallways is unacceptable. Baked beans have been smushed into the floor for the past 2 months near the exit to the parking garage. You would think for all the money we pay, they would clean properly. Moving into my apartment, there were big holes, cracks, and paint missing from the walls. After filing a complaint, they simply spackled over and never repainted (leaving me with huge white spots on my walls). We also noticed mold growing out of the air vents, but after submitting a maintenance request, all they did was replace the front of the vent (the mold inside the vent itself is still VERY MUCH there). The fridge and washer/dryer have given us issues all year, as well as the window leaking every time it rains, causing puddles on the floor. Not to mention, the wifi DOES NOT WORK. The first 3 months living here, I was told to "figure it out myself" so I would be on the phone with Vyve everyday for hours, with yet again no help. After getting kicked out of class and multiple Zoom interviews because of connectivity issues, I finally gave up and just started using my iPhone hotspot. Yes, the location is great for walking to class and downtown, but I have to say that is quite literally the only perk of living at Campusview. If you're going to spend $2k/month on an apartment, do yourself a favor and go somewhere nice. read more

BEWARE BEFORE YOU APPLY!!! Fraudulent business practices!!! They stated one price on the application page, and then requested over $200 to "process" the application. Other locations are similar, but only complete the charge if they accept the application. Not Campusview, they took the money and never responded back beyond the initial generic email that said they received the application. Upon learning from others who were "accepted" that the prices JUMPED hundreds of dollars PER MONTH over what we thought we were signing up for, I called to ask for the application to be withdrawn since it was nowhere near the stated price. I was told they would have someone call me back. No one ever did. Instead after weeks of waiting, I call back to learn they plan on keeping the over $200. No reason was given, other than that is their policy. No managers were able to come to the phone because they were speaking to vendors regarding a flood that had happened a few weeks back. I guess they are using all the "application" fees from people who never actually were accepted or even heard back from this location to cover the costs of what is probably a shoddily built facility. Absolutely abysmal business practice!!! Nothing was "processed" or ever dealt with by their management, and they hike up the prices, and expect to keep everyone's money who even showed interest in their facility. Unscrupulous and ridiculous. Feel free to sign up for their next round of applications if you like donating money to a facility where you probably won't live. read more

Campus View Apartments is one of the most frustrating and irritating entities we, ( my wife and daughter) have had to deal with. Trying to pay the rent is an exercise in futility and exasperation. We can pay the rent one month, and the next they won't let you pay with the same account. There are problems on their end, and are unwilling or unable to either address or even acknowledge the fact. I would stay away from this property if you have any other options. They have a gold mine there, and don't seem to give a rip about the students and families that are paying the bills. McAlister Development needs to get a grip on the management of this fiasco. I have to give a rating in order to post this rant. It's to bad there is nothing lower than one star. read more

The brochure looks great, the first walk through, not as much. Besides the endless email updates on garbage shoots not working (full), trash piling up in the refuse room, and the occasional "elevator under repair" tags, the management teams commitment to two way communication was ABSENT, in that you could not get a response. If you do decide to sign a lease agreement, be very sure that someone does an exit walk through of the apartment with you. My son was given an envelope and told to drop the keys and fob into the envelope and leave it at the front, they would not do a walk through. TWO months later we receive a bill of 'damages' and electric bills (that were covered in the monthly rent). No pictures, no way to prove any of the trumped up charges, just a demand of payment or the bill would be turned over to collections (damaging my son's credit rating for 289 dollars). don't live here. the alarm has been going off since 1:30 am and eventually the fire department had to leave because they said there was nothing they could do seeing as management wouldn't pick up the phones. They were worried about the wiring causing an actual fire and the water system going off so everyone evacuated in mass panic this morning at about 3:30. I've lived here for 2 years and this new management is even worse than the last. If there had been an actual fire nobody from the office would have been able to be contacted. this is dangerous and negligent, not to mention nobody's been able to throw trash out for WEEKS. and nothing has been done. they didn't notify us of our roommates until 2 weeks before move in, instead of in late june as promised multiple times. Our dryer doesn't work, my roommates and i have been sharing toilets because they all take turns not working, and did i mention THERE IS AN ALARM THAT'S BEEN GOING OFF FOR ALMOST 10 HOURS NOW. respectfully, get your act together CV. we don't want to hear we have a right to be upset or concerned when we call your office after you've gotten a fine nice night of sleep in your own bed, we want to hear what you're doing to fix YOUR mistake. We all know we have a right to be upset, and the entire campus is complaining and talking about CV on Yik Yak this morning. The fire alarm for the entire complex went off at 2 AM police and fire department responded and turned off the alarm. 10 minutes later the alarm started again and neither police or the fire department could get it under control. The alarm has been going on for six hours at this point and can be heard all the way on campus. Management did not respond to any form of communication. They also claim they were not aware of an alarm ALL NIGHT. There is no one on duty at night to handle situations such as this. The alarm is still going on and I have class and have had zero sleep. A lot of residents got hotel rooms as a result of this alarm. The management is not reliable and will not listen to you in matters such as this. Campus view DO BETTER! read more

This place is very convenient to campus, but that does not make up for all the negatives. Cheaply built, very thin walls. Living room furniture is subpar. The common areas, parking garage and elevators aren't kept clean, and are downright disgusting at times. Yet when you move out, they'll expect cleaning perfection and will charge for normal wear and tear. Their payment system fails often and they switched up the management company halfway through the year. Also, packages get stolen from the office after the Campus View Staff sign for them. I'm gonna give you the full low down: CV is really only desired because of the location... and they know it. Prices are extremely high really just because of the location and demand. And demand is only high because everyone thinks it's the place to be and it's not. I've never been so scammed by a company. Any good reviews you see are probably bribed bc they give gift cards if you post a review (notice how most of the reviews occur around the same time). The model room they show you is nothing like the apartments. Yes, it's clean but there is absolutely no cabinet space in the kitchen and rooms are really small. Had to buy two big shelves to store our food. Walls and floors are very thin- you can hear everything within/outside/above/below your apartment. The business building has been in the process of development for the 2 years I've lived here, so I woke up to machines and loud crashing everyday. Rent was a total of $850 monthly and when we renewed it increased to $950 (after fees applied) for a three bedroom. And that doesn't include the $75/ month parking pass (originally $50). Be cautious of the renewal/application process. I've lived here for two years (didn't want to have to relocate again) and it was absolute hell when I renewed. People were camping outside in Oct/Nov with below 30° weather to get this place and most of them didn't get it. Tenants that already lived here were given extremely short notice about the time we had to renew, with very little information. I had talked to them in person for days about when the time was to renew bc I wasn't sure if I wanted to, and they didn't tell me until a couple days before and I had to get up at 6am to wait in line to beat all the other CURRENT tenants. Other places in Clemson rarely increase their rent if you renew and if they do, it's surely not by $100. When current or new residents asked how many specific # of apts/ rooms were available, they could never give you an answer. My assumption is they were waiting to see how much they could price the rent based on demand. When I asked for the property manager's phone number I was told I could post complaints on a website. Maintenance is good. Although in Jan 2020 they said they were "upgrading" the WiFi and it didn't get "fixed" for almost two months. Got locked out of online exams/quizzes bc the WiFi quit on me. It's June now, I've been back for 2 weeks and have called multiple times about my WiFi and still nothing is fixed. I don't blame Maintenance, I blame management for hiring a clueless internet company. COVID is still in existence yet all the other apartments and housing at clemson have opened up their pool and gym. But CV says they're opening at an "undetermined" date. I said it was clean, meaning the apartments, but I've found vomit outside of my door and condoms and beer cans in the elevator. Speaking of the elevator.. both were broken for weeks at a time in Spring 2019. Which happens often. They also consistently lock the garbage chutes so you have to walk all the way around to take your trash out. Then if you don't, they go through your trash and find your name or info and charge you $50 if you leave it outside of the chute. When you do get to take your trash out, be prepared to kick it down bc they made the shoots smaller. I look forward to being charged excessive fees for normal wear and tear after 2 years of living here. Will not be surprised... Classic CV. If they do try to charge you- argue, argue argue. They would've gotten more than enough of your rent money to fix normal wear and tear. I've had friends that rave about plenty of other good places such as Grandmarc, Ucentre, Douthit, The Lofts, locations behind or near downtown. NOT Earle. Please consider other options. This is the worst place to live in the proximity of campus. They fine ridiculous amounts for ridiculous things. They fined me for not parking in my spot when my car was clearly correctly tagged and in my spot. They fined my friend for following all the proper procedures when someone else parked in her spot, and put a large sticker that obstructed her view out of her windshield that was impossible to scrape off. The doors leading into the building are hardly ever locked, so anyone can come and go into the building at any time of day or night they please. Good luck getting maintenance to fix an issue, you'll get it fixed quicker going to a trade school and learning how to plumb yourself. They put packing peanuts in the pots outside. I can hear every footstep from the apartment above me. The pool is disgusting. The dryer never actually dries my clothes, and makes our apartment extremely hot. The fire alarm goes off for hours at a time, usually after midnight. Don't even get me started about how they went about leasing people for next year; forcing people to camp out in below-freezing weather then waiting for the morning to tell them they didn't have units available. But thank GOD they have Friends trivia night! Makes everything worth it! I am honestly appalled about the way this business is run. I am certain the ONLY thing keeping them in business is their location. Extremely relieved I signed a lease elsewhere for next year. read more

Extremely disappointed in Campus View. On move in the window sills were covered in mildew and the apartment was filthy. We documented all issues with pictures and sent them to the management. Nothing was done. On move out not only did we not get our deposit back they tacked on additional charges! INSANE! They are taking advantage of students and their families. read more

let me start by saying that if i could give campus view zero stars, i would. first off about 3 months ago i asked about when the leasing for apartments would be for the 2019 school year. they put me on their email list and said that they would let me know when leasing was going to happen. yesterday, one of my future roommates told me that she heard that it was opening the following day at 9am. my entire group decided to go to the office and ask them ourselves to make sure since we hadn't gotten an email. when we went they told us that the leasing at 9am was true and that people were camping out that night to reserve their spot since it was first come, first serve basis. so we panicked, went home and gathered all the possible things that we would need for a night sleeping in 25 degree weather. we got there around 8pm and people were camping out indoors and then management came and said we had to go outside. at this point nothing was in campus views hands so it was not their fault. BUT what pissed me off was that multiple people were asking how many rooms were available but they would not tell us. so we assumed that we were going to be guaranteed a room since we were 5th in line. i slept on a chair in below freezing temperatures for 12 hours but it was gonna be worth it tho cause i was gonna have a place to live right! no. management came back around 8 am and informed us that they don't have any 4 person apartments and that the remaining ones started at $1000. WHAT THE FUCK. MY ASS WAS GETTING HYPOTHERMIA OUT THWRE DYING FOR NO REASON ARE YOU SHITTING ME? the thing that infuriated me the most was that i had asked previously so many times how many rooms they had because ya know if ur gonna open leasing i would assume that you would know how many rooms you are going to try and sign off.... you are a company that should know at the bare minimum how many FUCKING ROOMS YOU HAVE AVAILABLE BEFORE YOU START SIGNING THEM AWAY. so moral of the story is i'm glad i'm not living there even though that was the worst night of my life that happened for absolutely no reason but whatever. if you want to live in a place that is not organized and doesn't inform you on anything that's happening, then go right on over to campus view. but in my opinion, i would rather be homeless read more
