Right from the start we saw destruction and filth in the family room. A creature had broken through our chimney cap, collected as much soot as possible coming down the chimney, forced down the fireplace door assembly, plodded through to the water heater room, and scaled the wall there to reach the attic. Yes. For the first time ever, we had a racoon break into the cottage sometime earlier in the spring. We thought about covering the chimney back up...but then thought better and opted for some professional help. Very happy to have found Rick over at St. Clair County Critter removal. We were only up for the day. We called Rick and he came out within a couple hours. That was some response, and boy am I grateful for it. He was very well versed in the art of critter control. He pointed out that covering the chimney would have been a huge mistake because this time of year, mother racoons break in to houses to find safe places to have their babies and she certainly would have trashed the place trying to break out some other way when she left for her nightly foraging. Using infrared sensors, and some sleuthing, Rick was able to track the racoon down in the attic and position a series of traps (some racoons get pretty "trap smart" apparently. But he offered a variety of traps.) During the first night, Rick shared a picture of our invader. On the second morning, he reported success! This picture demonstrated that he had trapped the beast and relocation was coming up. And once the critter was trapped, Rick installed a brand new, extra tough chimney cap. All of this at what seems to us to be a reasonable cost. We're still looking at a bunch of cleaning up in the attic, but at least the cause has been addressed and we can feel secure knowing that Rick did his job in a timely, responsive, efficient and responsible way. I just wanted to share that if you have any issues with racoons, skunks, bats or any other critters, I'd point you to Rick for help at: St. Clair County Critter Removal.

He carried all the confidence of John Goodman from arachnophobia. We had wasp nests in the eaves of our garage. There were hundreds of them. He just watched them for awhile with his head tilted and then said. "There are two choices: You can wait for them to die in a month or so....orrrrr we can kill them". I said: kill them. He took my check for what we found to be a reasonable amount. I went inside. He put on his suit. Climbed the ladder. Did his magic and drove away. Our home is a wasp free zone now Can't think of better criteria for a five star rating!

The technician told us they were booked out for the next two weeks, but our situation was urgent, so he took the time to stop by on his way home for the night (it was on the way). He showed up prepared, knowledgeable, and took care of treating and removing the Yellowjacket nest in less than a few hours. Once the job was finished, we were provided with proper instruction about what to do moving forward. Really impressed and satisfied after having such a bad experience with Terminix, a company that wasn't qualified to address our Yellowjacket problem.
