If there is something I hate, it is giving money to a business that treats their clients poorly. We went and the food was dry and over cooked, especially the beans accompanying the butifarra and the conejo, and they were extremely rude to us because we moved the tables 4 inches (10 centimeters) so we could actually physically sit down. Also, the neighbors behind us were uncomfortable by how close we were when we try to sit down - the backs of the chairs were literally touching their table. Rather than kindly speak to us about the table, the larger bald waiter decided to come and confront us extremely rudely. I was a waitress for a long time, and I would never in my life treat customers the way he spoke to us. My friends and I (read again if you're the owner, because no - Alvaro is not my boyfriend as you insinuated) left thorough reviews on Google telling honestly how the experience was (bad) and they responded aggressively. The environment of the restaurant is really cute and they give you house wine when you first arrive. For us, the positive experience ended there. Maybe it will be different for you if you go there, but unfortunately we did not enjoy the food, nor the treatment from the two older, bald waiters. Our main waiter, who was young, was fantastic and did the best he could to de-escalate the poor behavior of his colleagues and provide us with the best experience possible after the negative interactions. It's unfortunate that the restaurant does not know how to take a review and improve their service, rather than resorting to bullying - especially of local customers who not only could provide further business, but could frequent more often. As the owner suggested, we won't be going back nor do we recommend this place. There are plenty of better restaurants nearby for typical Catalan food where they treat the clients kindly and with respect. We arrived to Barcelona late and when looking for a restaurant that was still open and close enough to walk to this place popped up. It's a hidden gem. From the outside you wouldn't think too much of it but when you walk in you're greeted by large casks of wine and beautiful candles that look like they've been burning for years. We didn't have a reservation and they seemed busy but they quickly walked us into the dining room and seated us. When you walk into the room you literally feel like your eating in a cross between a cave or a family's old home. Either way it was beautiful and immediately made me excited to try the food. It is a tapas place and they thankfully had a English menu. My large group of 6 people ordered about 6/7 dishes and neither of them disappointed, in fact it was the best meal we had in Spain! Everything was cooked to perfect, the portions were just right, they had a multitude of different dishes, and above all 6 people loved the food and left full! Definitely have to sing the praises of this restaurant. First, as noted, on arrival you're invited to sample the house wine from the barrels, sort of ad infinitum... we were waiting for two more from our group, and definitely had a few generous glasses while we waited. The wine itself tastes a bit young (all of them), but cheap and cheerfully tasty. The ambiance is great, very rustic looking, all exposed wood and farm implements. It gets busy in the evenings, and the atmosphere is bustling. The food is again great. Not your typical Barcelona fare... specialties are meat. The rabbit, as noted, was very tasty with the onions. Catalan sausage, pork loin, etc. all very good. Service consistently excellent (been here twice over 2 years), and they are very patient and helpful with the odd tourist. What a great experience! I chose this for our last dinner in Barcelona and we had a great time. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Our night started with a tasting of their house wines from the barrels. When we were all assembled we took a table in the comfortable dining room that looks like an old style taverna. We got a couple liters of house red, only 6 euro, and ordered a bunch of stuff. Padron peppers were amazing as was the calamari and potatoes with garlic! The star of the evening was the rabbit. Fried and perfectly spiced pieces over a bed of caramelized onions and garlic that amazed everybody! We wish we had ordered more than 2 raciones. Sausage with white beans was also solid. We got some raisin puddings for dessert which were also nice. The waiter brought some great Sauternes-like dessert wine as a complimentary accompaniment to the puddings. You should go there! Even just to enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant: at the entrance the waiters funny and friendly offer you a wine tasting direct from the big barrels. The tavern is really wide, kind of shed decorated with wooden rustic furniture. No noise even if the place is lively. Tapas good and generous. We took butifarra sausage, fries squids (fresh), snakes, bread and tomato, fish salad. Around 35 euros in total. I tried something from every section of the menu and it was all exquisite. The veal kebab was a standout as one of the best things I've ever consumed, ever. The staff was very friendly and the space, while very large, is still very intimate. The puddings are bread puddings, which caught us off guard but it was still yummy. This place... oh my... Me and my friend were visiting Barcelona, and she had found this place in a tourist guide, so we thought we would try it. After having been looking for it for a couple of hours, we were about to give up! It was so hard to find... but finally, we saw the very small hidden street that the restaurant was supposed to be on, and could see the huge gate where the name of the restaurant was written. Was it closed, we thought, since it didn't seem very "open" with the huge gate, but it was, and we were welcomed by a host who let us try 4 different wines, two red, two white, as an appetizer I guess. One of the red wines were so sweet and dry, I will never forget it, probably the best I've ever tasted. The wines were poured out of huge barrels, a very intense and authentic experience. After 5-10 minutes or so, the host followed us to our table. WOW an amazing interior! So spanish, so authentic, so beautiful. Rustic furniture in a beautiful barn! We were handed the menus, and there were so many things we could choose. We were a little afraid that the place was expensive since we were given such a unique welcome, but it wasn't! It was cheap, and the things listed on the menu were very traditional spanish food, they even served rabbit. We ordered many different things, lamb chops, potatoes, rabbit, it was so difficult to choose. While we were waiting for our food, we were served the traditional spanish bread with tomato jam (?), this was delicious. Our food was served within a short amount of time, and oh my!!! This was one of the best restaurants I've ever visited!!! The food was outstanding and there was lots of it! The rabbit was seasoned to perfection, and at first I was so scared to try it, but I'm so glad I did!!! We were so happy that we actually found this place, because I will never forget how amazing an experience it was, I will only recommend it! My wife and I are in Barcelona on our honeymoon from the US. We were of course looking for traditional Spanish food and we found it! It was very flavorful and an amazing atmosphere. While the host spoke some English, our waitress did not, but she was still very helpful and kind. We had a specific English menu which helped a lot. We did not have a reservation, but that was perfectly fine, as we were offered their house wine while we waited in the front room! We ordered bread with tomatoes, very traditional...potatoes, lamb chops and veal skewer.. All amazing. Veal is a bit salty and the lamb a bit fatty but all still very tasty. We enjoyed bread pudding for dessert which was on point! We definitely recommend this place! read more
