Saturday, November 26, the day after Black Friday, tried to call the store on Kennedy Rd in Toronto at 11:30 many times, nobody answered. When I got there, the excuse was black Friday. It was virtually empty , more staff in the store than customers. One employee was so bored at doing nothing that he was yawning. The two products I wanted to buy they were sold out. That was a lot of gasoline, wasted for nothing, if they just answered their phone. Will not shop there in the future. Terrible attitude towards customers. read more

They recently build a new wing and transferred the entire store over to the new side while rebuilding the old wing. The new wing provides many more parking spots and the aisles are much easier to navigate. I came at 5pm and despite having about 7 staff, they were all attending to customers and I had to wait about 10 mins before one of them becomes available. I wish they have more staff on hand. Huy employee is amazing. Tech people that built custom builds I would avoid unless u have over 7000 to 10000 for build but even then don't expect anything. If u get custom builds remember u can't return some stuff which means u just wasted 7000 dollars can u imagine do yourself a favour and find somewhere professional. 2 day of build at home had to go back to get the memory I payed to be installed working to work and to adjust stuff. How is that possible they say they custom build and test 3 to 5 days not 1 day pickup. This place gets negative 10. Also there head office is offering 5090 pre order at alarming cost I have proof ip address and photos of person. What a damn joke of company.so lets all go on Facebook and be offered 5090 from this company what a joke and for a business to do this what. I have been shopping at this location for years but will never go back after what they put me through today. I placed me order online ad received my order number for pickup in my email and went to pick it up. When I got there they told me I could not pick up my order until I had received a phone call from them. I told them i did not use my phone to order and have no phone on my person. The web site did not tell me I needed my phone to pick up my order. They did not care at all and i had to drive all the way back home to wait for the phone call. I get the call and they told me my order was ready so I drove back to the location only to be told t hat my order was not yet ready after being told I needed a code they text messaged me. I already had the order number and pickup code but this was not good enough I needed the text code as well which i had and only then was told they call first and then put the order together after. I waited back in line for another 30 minutes in the hot sun and I am disabled. Finally the guy called me over and now wants the brand name and model numbers of everything i ordered so they could put my order together. I asked him if he was serious. I have no idea the model numbers. I finally got my order several minutes later. This was the poorest customer service I have ever received and the employees were not caring at all. It would have taken them 30 seconds to pick up a keyboard and hard drive for me. I shopped at a different location a couple of days ago and did not have any of these problems including the phone call policy. I will never give them another penny of business nor will my Son who was with me and witnessed what they did to me. I plan to share this review on every review page I can find to warn people. I have been shopping at this location for many years and have spent thousands of dollars there and they just lost a life time customer. i plan to complain to the BBB as well. I even asked them nicely if they could just help me so i would not have to drive all the way home for the phone call and they said no we don't care. This is how they treat a disabled customer. I will put much time and energy into helping others not have to go through what I went through. Stay away from this location at all cost. There are plenty of other locations that value their customers. Staff were rude and grumpy and even throwing peoples orders down on the ground with out being careful at all. Make sure to read the reviews before putting an order with Canada computer and electronics, wich I didn't do and now I regret. I put an order in on March 9th, my order included 3 items wich we're showing as IN STOCK on their website, on March 14th I received a email stating that one of my item was back ordered. Called customer service to be told it was a problem on their system and basically the customer have to deal with it. I picked a Canadian company, Ontario to be precise, thinking since I'm in New Brunswick it will be faster than Amazon and I'll help the Canadian economy as well, oh boy was I wrong. Canada Computers was once a decent computer retail outlet (notwithstanding the restrictive return policies). Prices are average to good, and even though you can usually get the same item cheaper online or at places like Tiger Direct, you get what you want faster as long as it's in stock. Unfortunately that convenience advantage is well and truly squandered by the less than helpful sales associates at the Kennedy location. I had a very poor experience a week ago at this location... My company moved offices and we needed some supplies for our IT admin to finish the networking and switching. I had a list of items and also had to return a $10 product that I bought from them a week previously. I walked in and had first tried to get a refund or exchange for a purchase. There was 1 staff there assisting a customer but it wasn't for an exchange or refund. They kept talking about EVERY anti-virus software out there, and the CC employee had explained the pros and cons of each. So after patiently waiting for nearly 10 minutes, I had asked if anyone else can assist me from the back of the exchange section. He simply said "No, there is no one else available." and then continued his conversation with the customer on anti-viruses. After waiting another couple minutes and still no service, I put my item on the table and walked in (as I had to get back to the office with the proper equipment for our IT guy). So I walked into the networking area where there is cat6 cables, jacks, etc. I asked an employee "Are you currently helping any customer?". He said "No" and I showed him my list of items. I asked where the items were. He started looking for about 30 seconds, couldn't find anything, and just walked away. So I continued to look for 5-10 minutes, found the items I needed, and then went to check out. The clerk was very friendly and said "Did anyone help you today" and I laughed out loud and said "NO! No one helped me..." She apologized many times, but it was too late; the damage was done. Finally, I went back to the exchange area, grabbed my $10 item and walked out. I did not get the item exchanged or refunded, and the guy there was STILL talking to the same customer about anti-viruses.... I personally will not be going back to CC. I do agree that their prices are very competitive and you can save money by going there. However I would NEVER buy anything from there, especially if you have to return or exchange (because that probably won't happen). In addition, if you know exactly what you need and don't expect a refund ever, then it's probably worth the risk - just don't ask for any of their staff to help you. read more

I've had two experiences with them. Neither were stellar. The first time, I brought my computer in for fixing. I picked it up a few days later and I found a part was missing when I went to hook it back up. I had to go all the way back there (in winter) for it. Funny thing was, when I told the guy I originally picked up my computer from that there was a part missing, he immediately opened his drawer and handed it to me like he knew I'd be back for it. The 2nd time, I bought a part to connect a few devices. It didn't fit, so I took it back. The guy there told me he has no clue what that was and gave me the one I actually needed. read more

Kinda hard to get the attention of a sales associate, and had to ask 2-3 before I finally got a hold of one who knew what I wanted. My last build i pretty well got almost everything from CC One thing about this place is they take credit cards The other stores i generally go to take cash or interact. This only adds service fees to my purchase There's always ample staff to help you And they seem to be knowledgeable enough can't back that up since i always go with the research behind what i'm buing but if i ask they normally can answer or inquire about my querries. read more

This is my default place for computer parts. I haven't had a bad experience yet, but at the same time I mostly just buy cables and smaller items that aren't usually crapping out. Mostly an in and out transaction, find what I need and pay. I tend to like the prices. Hopefully I'll continue to remain happy with the place. =) read more

My wife and I went shopping today (08-Sept-2016) for a laptop for our son and some other samller things. My wife spoke to the man at the Help Desk where you enter the Kennedy Ave Store. This man made my wife very sad and very uncomfortable by not addressing her as the customer. He ignored her and spoke only to me. I was almost in shock that he treated her as if she didn't exist. For this reason we stopped shopping and left. Needless to say we purchased the laptop elsewhere. Additionally, we phone the manager to make himm aware as well. I hope this issue is dealt with as I do not appreciate my wife being marginalized in front of me or otherwise. How could this type of thing occur in this day and age? Very poor manners. read more

The service at this Canada Computers was incredible for many reasons. When we initially purchased our individual PC components they price matched and gave us the best price every time.They only sold us what we needed, giving us advice accordingly. When we had problems getting the built PC working, they performed a diagnostic within a day, and again provided us with advice and installed the part we needed. When we once again had issues (connecting to the internet this time), we went back to CC where they took the time to find the problem and did not quit until they did without any added cost to us. CC helped make a frustrating experience a lot more bearable! Thank you! read more

Very poor customer service at the Kennedy Road location. The Manager was ardent in his view of what they could do to address my concerns and unwilling to listen to reason or to be reasonable, or to acknowledge my concerns and dissatisfaction. The Manager seemed to think that he was doing me a favor by shipping off my 3 month old laptop to their Markham office with an expected repair time of 3 weeks. The laptop should have been fixed onsite pursuant to the Enhanced Protection Plan that was purchased with the laptop and in a reasonable amount of time. Stay away from this company if you want decent after purchase service. read more

After I made my pc, it wouldn't run so I brought it back to Canada Computers. I went to the customer service area. They fixed my computer and told what I did wrong but they charged me nothing for it. read more

Now im not a techie by anymeans, I don' t know the difference between microchip and a potote chip for the most part......ok im not that bad but my point is im not computer wise at all when it comes to parts. I like this place because I can just walk in with my list of gibberish ( stuff i really dont know what it is) and they find it for me. Doing this I have not brought home a bad birthday gift for my techie bf yet, so to me this is a good thing. I also don't feel stupid doing this either. Knowing how to shop ive also noticed ive gotten good deals compared to other places aswell, which agin makes me happy. they do give discounts if the package is ruined abit, or they add on an extra guarantee. I do recommed comming in with a list of what you need because it usally is quite busy so just to save time it does help. read more

As a computer guy I like being able to ask for something and have the staff know what Im talking about. They are more expensive than the online alternatives but not by any long shot. They could to to create custom PC bundles/combos still. Its fast easy convenient and I can usualy reason with there busy but still friendly staff. For example my NZXT Gama case was a display, I brought up to the manager that the case looks fine but there might be some problems such as dammage or missing parts and a return is a pain in the back end. I bought an open box Aeon 1250 and the salesperson helped make sure that the computer worked + had all the right parts. Unfortunately, I got home and realized that the hardware was defective and that the computer would constantly get the blue screen of death. Thankfully, the return policy on open box items was lenient and I was able to get a refund without much hassle. NOTE: Their return policies vary and the open box return policy is more lenient than new items. read more

Canada Computers is a decent store with decent prices, but a horrible policies. Their prices are decent, but definitely cheaper than say BestBuy or FutureShop. Returning and exchanging items is horrible. They argue and argue until you give up. Asides from that they don't even follow their own policies. They have a 'no questions asked price match' policy. It's as if it doesn't exist. Also many times I have shopped there the sales representatives were nice, but had no clue about anything in the store besides where the item is located. Also beware that used/returned items may be marked as new. I would say do not shop here. If you must shop at this location, consider BestBuy and FutureShop instead. They have a much better return/exchange policy and they will price match Canada Computers. read more

This place has cheap staff. I went to exchange a processor and when they gave me my 'new one' its sticker was torn off. The staff kept saying its never been used and then i spotted the thermal compound on it and then he started saying sorry. Never going again. read more

Just had a custom-built computer made at Canada Computers on Kennedy Road. Jeff (aka JD) was the model salesperson and assisted in choosing the components on Saturday afternoon. By 2pm Sunday, I was walking out the door with the awesome new system built just for my family's needs. Extremely happy with the service department (thanks Lucas and Michael!). I wanted to return a video card that did not work on my computer. Ny system met the specifications for the card and still had problems. I even tried more powerful cards and they worked fine. but the card i bought from Canada Computers never worked. I wanted to return it but what I didnt know was that the store tech will test it on their system. For a few second. The tech said it worked fine. They didn't care that it didn't work for me. They were going to charge me the restocking fee. I think I should have damaged the card myself, to make absolutely certain that it did not work. Maybe then they would not charge me a restocking fee. I will never buy from them again. they could have given me the benefit of the doubt. I emailed the company head office but never received a reply. I will buy from bestbuy or futureshop that do not have a restocking fee for returns. read more

I recently purchased a Razer Megadolon 7.1 surround sound headset for $130, expecting a quality product. While the speakers were bearable, the microphone quality was the equivalent of a tape recorder. "Okay! I'll just go back to Canada Computers and see what they can do for me, since the microphone is obviously defective, contrary to the Razer quality I've come to know and love" I thought. However, it turns out that there is a hideous return policy wherein headsets cannot be returned or exchanged unless proven defective on the spot. So that's fine, because my microphone IS defective, right? Wrong. While I was explaining my white noise problem to the resident technician, he rudely cut me off and asked "are you sure it's defective? If it doesn't turn up with any noise here we can't exchange it due to hygienic reasons. No one wants to buy a headset that has your ears on it." I assured him that the product was defective and invited him to test it out. Here's the ridiculous part: Upon testing it, he wears the headset himself! I asked him "Is it not contradictory of you to say its unhygienic to resell it after I used it? Why is it that you are now wearing the headset, putting your own ears on it?" He then rudely responded to me, showing aggressive body language (slightly crouched, arms out) "No. Well, do you want me to test it or not?" in a HIGHLY sarcastic way. "It's not contradictory at all. Again, do you want me to test it or not?" At that point, I caved in to the disgusting customer service this resident technician gave me and told him "Fine. Go ahead and test it." He comes back and says "nothing's wrong." This is where the /assistant manager comes in. He explains to me again what the resident technician already said, that hygiene prevents them from reselling the item. I told him of the resident technician's aggressive and overly rude demeanour, to which the assistant manager seemed apathetic to. Without re-testing the microphone, the Assisstant manager simply said "We cannot exchange the item. It is not defective." Unbelievable. Having a tornado in the background is not considered defective? For a gamer, microphone quality is equally as important, possibly even more important than sound quality. Having white noise in the microphone is not considered a defect? I've tried every fix I could find on the internet, even going through the razer support forums without a fix. I then come to Canada computers to return an obviously defective product, and am instead turned away with RUDE and OFFENSIVE behaviour. Fine. So I then asked them MYSELF to take the initiative and re-test the microphone and try to hear white noise. They go back into the back, test it again, and come back: "No." Instead, they offered to let me return the product, but for that, I would have to pay a 50% restocking fee. And the confusing part starts here: The resident technician, who in hindsight was obviously untrained and misinformed about company policy, said that I would have to pay about $75 EXTRA to just GIVE it back to Canada Computers. Shocked, I asked him "You mean to say I would have to pay 75$ on top of what I already paid? As in: in the end, I pay $200+ for a defective item, I would no longer have?" To which he responded: "Yes." .. What? Upon clarification, the assistant manager then said "No, you will get your money back, minus the restocking fee." Which makes a thousand times more sense than what the technician said. But that's besides the point. In the end, I was not able to get anything from Canada Computers' customer service. I am now stuck with a lemon of a Razer Megalodon, because stringent company policy on returns and exchanges and highly offensive and rude customer service denied that my product was defective, despite testing it in a noisy environment with background noise. White noise, by nature, is typically only detectable during periods of calm or silence. To a gamer, the presence of white noise on skype, ventrilo, teamspeak or VOIP is reason enough to trash a headset -- even my $40 creative fatal1ty headset generated no white noise. The rude, sarcastic, and aggressive demeanour of the resident technician was the worst customer service experience of my life. I expected more from Canada Computers, and hoped that that expectation would continue many years into the future. However, after my experience, I am convinced that a business that treats their customers in such a way doesn't deserve my business, my family's business, my friends' business, nor any other person's business. I am truly disappointed by the events of today, and am amazed that the resident technician of this Canada Computers was so demeaning, and the assistant manager seemed so apathetic to his actions. Furthermore, I am disgusted by the level of sarcasm I experienced when I presented a genuine problem. i went in to exchange my laptop cuz the spacbar was defected, yet when i go, i have a 40 year old brown guy basically come up to me and call me dumb for not knowing how to use a spacebar. now they told me to come tmrw to come get and i called them 8 times and no one answered. i should put my 4 year old baby cousin and she would be able to answer the phone. these guys lucky yelp dont let me put half a star. worst customer service ive ever experienced. read more

Want the worst customer service experience of your life?? Just bring your computer to Canada Computers on Kennedy for a repair. Don't bother calling first though, as they NEVER answer the phone. Brought my computer in yesterday for repair being told my diagnostic would be done by Monday latest. I called today. It took me 3 hours to get through to the repair desk only to be told they had no idea when my diagnostic would be done as the technician called in sick. When I asked how long it would take, I was told that they had no idea. I use my computer for work so I really can't sit around and wait for them to figure it out. I expressed these concerns and asked to speak to the store manager. Of course, he/she wasn't in. I was then told I would be out through to the district manager. I was put on hold for close to 10 minutes before being told he/she was too busy to speak with me. The girl at the repair desk didn't care at all and was most unsympathetic. Bottom line, this was my first and last experience with this place. They don't care about their customers and the service is abysmal. To everyone reading this, save yourself the headache. This place is terrible. read more
