I've had very few items in the "severe" category (like 8), and my friend had 90% of her report "severe" or "moderate". She lives a normal 100% functional life, and I'm severely ill and have been bed bound, so I do think the testing can help point folks in a direction, though it's not the whole answer.

Reagan - for a massage that is out of this world, especially if you like deep tissue vs "light and fluffy". Jumy - for TCM, helped me address some issues through acupuncture and other treatments, which I use as an integral part of my health care. Last but not least, Dr. Lee has been my chiropractor for over 15 years, and he is the reason I first came to the clinic. In that time I have sent my husband, my mother with spinal issues, my grandmother and several other family members to see him. Dr. Lee focuses on the root cause of the problem, never just an "adjustment and done". Over the years, he has helped me recover from a knee injury, repetitive strain in arms and shoulders, back pain. He has also helped me be more aware of my body alignment and areas to strengthen, which keeps me out of his office, rather than in! To support his patients, Dr. Lee is always striving to further his knowledge and techniques, to work in partnership with other health care providers even when they are outside of his clinic, and genuinely cares for his patients and their well being and experience. The nurse can also give you vaccinations. They are linked to St. Michael's Hospital. If you have to visit the hospital, the clinic automatically gets results over their computer system. This is a family unit clinic, where your file is shared between the doctor's at the clinic, so any of them can see you under an emergency situation and your doctor is not available. There is a bloodwork clinic in there too. There are social workers covered by OHIP to help you with things like stress. There are dietitians civered by OHIP to help you with nutrition. They also run drop-in clinics after-hours. There is a TV in their waiting room. Starting late 2018, they started allowing email communications. As of Mar 2019, they have expanded into what was Appletree Medical Centre providing them with more rooms for the non-doctor offices. Sometime around 2024, you can book a non-urgent appointment with your doctor, but expect to be booked 3-5 weeks in the future. I've been through ups and downs with this clinic. The family doctor (Dr. Lee Schofield) I had since 2012 started getting worse in customer service after 2018. It got to the point where he was very late and then didn't even show up for appointments! He eventually left the clinic. With bad news came good news. All his patients got transfered to a new doctor, Dr. Margaret Hess. She is beyond excellent! She even won awards during her residency. She will even call you during the weekend to discuss results with you! After the pandemic, when you called, you usually have to wait over 1 hour to speak with someone. Around 2024, the wait time reduced to 5-10 mins. There is a way for a doctor to request info from you over a secure communications channel. There is free WiFi. The clinic is wheelchair accessible. There is one gender-neutral washroom which is also wheelchair accessible. There is paid and free neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-147

The most he does is prescribe medications - he doesn't care about one as a human being or follow correct diagnoses from other doctors not associated with St. Mike's A huge part of the problem lies in the fact that bookings are controlled by the Manager of Receptionists at St Michael's Hospital who books patients for - St.Lawrence Health. I believe Lauren Massey is her name, and she acts like the Gestapo. I intend to take them to court.

Then that nurse started coming every week. As my fathers cancer prognosis became worse and worse the nurse started coming more often. She ended up coming to our house every other day, to everyday (another nurse would come on the weekends). The nurses were constantly very helpful and resourceful. They provided my dad with enemas, recorded his progress, and even put us through to different connections in our neighborhood and even setup home visits (such as a Social Worker, or Physiotherapist). They made great recommendations for us and even helped us emotionally through such a difficult time in our lives.

Upon my relocation to Ontario I signed up for the CCAC service to connect me with a family doctor. I received a letter from a Care Connector by the name of Judy H. to contact the office as my phone number had changed and I hadn't updated it in the system. I contacted her straight away and she asked me some medical and preference questions. One of the questions was whether I required a male or female doctor. I told her that I prefer a female but that I've been without a family doctor for so long so if only male practitioners are available I will accept that. Judy gave me the name and contact information for a male doctor in my area that is accepting new patients. She told me that the office can be busy so I should be patient and may have to try to call a few times. No problem. I attempted to call the office EIGHT times over a 3-day period and my calls were never answered. Each time the calls went to voice mail, either directly or after a few rings. That would not have been a problem had it not been for the fact that EVERY time the voice mail message said the mailbox is full. So I couldn't even leave a message for someone to call me back. I found this to be concerning because in the future when I NEED to reach my doctor's office I expect the same situation to occur, not being able to get an appointment. So I called and left a message for Judy to enquire about being assigned a different doctor. When she called me back she was argumentative and unwilling to work with me, claiming that her job was to connect me with a doctor to meet my needs and she'd done that. I explained that this doctor is not meeting my needs - my need being to be able to reach the office to make and appointment in a timely fashion - and asked if she could refer me to someone else, preferably a woman. She continued arguing that she did her part and that I hadn't asked for a female, which I explained that I had. Basically the conversation - if you can call it that - was me asking for help and her refusing and talking over me. I was told that I can find my own doctor and that her job was done. She was the laziest, most argumentative customer care rep I have dealt with in a long time. In the end, I ended the call by saying that obviously the call was getting us nowhere and there was no point in continuing to waste my time. Looking at the website I found that the service is provided by the government which means that MY tax dollars are being used to pay this woman's salary to treat me like this. Disgusting. On the website I also saw this: "All of our employees - from your Case Manager (also referred to as a "Care Coordinator") to the administrative staff and management - are dedicated to realizing our Vision and Mission. Our Vision: Outstanding care - every person, every day. Our Mission: To deliver a seamless experience through the health system for people in our diverse communities, providing equitable access, individualized care coordination and quality health care." As far as I am concerned Judy H. did NOT meet the organization's vision and mission statements with me and unfortunately I cannot find a way to contact a supervisor to complain. Funnily enough though, there are a number of videos showing how happy community members are with the service. How about an opportunity to complain? No dice. So as it stands, I'm right back where I started without a primary doctor to access and having to go to walk in clinic if I need medical care. Well, at least Judy is getting paid.
