Had the peppercorn sirloin: - steak was cooked well but quite gristly (I wouldn't want it again) - potato may be the smallest baked potato I've ever seen - caesar salad starter was fine Guinness - "do you want a glass?" It's good but more or less just like bar food. Nothing too special. Not too generous on greens but my salmon came in quite a good portion.

We did a last minute stop in ad a group of 6 on a Friday night. We were able to be accommodated by the hostess and made to feel very welcome. Mind you, the restaurant was extremely busy, and we were able to sit right away. We had the Friday night prime rib....and boy was it great. I almost licked my plate clean. The prime rib was cooked perfectly! We followed up with salted caramel cheesecake for dessert, and I can say this is one of the best desserts I have ever had. The salted caramel popcorn was an absolute fantastic garnish.....wish I would have thought of this before. Our server Karen was unbelievably great and genuine. We felt so welcome, and she served us like royalty. I recommend coming here to eat. This is our second time, and every time we come from Edmonton, the Canadian Steakout is must go to restaurant for us. I highly recommend eating here. The wait times were long (very busy on a Sat evening!), but the food was delicious! Especially the brisket bruschetta which had well balanced flavours. Cheese curds were a bit tough instead of melty, but not bad chocolate cake. The cornbread was dense and oily, shaped in muffins and had an interesting sweet butter dip for it. Expensive and VERY busy, but the food was quite good and the service was solid as well. I got a filet mignon with the shrimp skewer, and they were delicious. My partner ordered a different steak meal with Oscar topping and thoroughly enjoyed it too. We'd definitely eat here again. read more

This establishment came highly recommended by the young lady who checked us in to our campground. They claimed in their ads to serve beef of a higher grade than commonly available. We found this claim to be exaggerated - the two filets and two ribeyes our party ordered were relatively tough and tasteless compared to what we were used to. I found this Restaurant on Yelp and we had excellent food. We had the baby back ribs and rib eye. We also shared a Poutine for an appetizer and the Apple pie for dessert. The place is loud so if your looking for quiet this is not the place for you. Ambiance is happening and fun! Service was quick and prompt. Like the other reviews, this was a pleasant surprise. After a long morning hike in Jasper, my partner and I were feeling peckish for lunch. We decided to stop in Hinton on our way back to Edmonton and saw the reviews for this place. They have daily lunch specials as well as dinner specials. After some debate, we shared a porterhouse with 2 sides ($~85). The steak was cooked perfectly. Our server was excellent and went out of her way to entertain the table next to us with young kids. Would stop here again next time we are in Hinton. read more

This place pleasantly surprised us. Went a few days earlier to scope out. Had drinks and the calamari, which was decent. Yesterday had the mussels and they were great. Cooked in a white wine sauce. Just wish they had bread to soak up the sauce. I had the Chicago Blackened Ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. Liked the seasoning they used and ended up using the steak sauce for my onion rings because the steak certainly didn't need it. My wife had the peppercorn New York Striploin which was also cooked perfectly and the sauce was excellent. Desserts were big and tasty. I had the chocolate cake and my wife had the creme brulee. They had two local beers on tap. I was okay with the beer selection but my wife felt they could have had more craft beer on tap. Worst dining experience of my life. They say they are a steak place they are not. I kick myself every time for this because I always say why go to a steak house and pay $30 for a steak when I can get one for cheaper at my house and cook it th way I want and if it turns out wrong the only person I have to blame is myself. Also, when you get a steak and it is $30 of it is fat and it's an 8oz steak ... that is a rip off! However, Glenn Anderson was in the restaurant the night we ate there and none of the waitresses recognized him. Feel bad for them. Perhaps it was all the great reviews that made me expect more than what I got. The steak was cooked nicely and was tasty. But my steamed veggies where overcooked with no crispness, just soggy carrots and broccoli. The baked potato had the consistancy of a microwaved potato. No crispness to the skin nor that firmness you get with a true oven baked potato. Service was good but prices were high for the quality of all the food. I really expected better. read more

I am always traveling back and forth from Alberta to BC and this is the perfect place to eat when you want to enjoy some pub food. I highly recommend the popcorn shrimp, great beer batter, full of crunch and flavour. The tzatziki is amazing and everything was prepared quick and served together as requested. The restaurant truly surpassed our expectations! The waitress and manager were very accomodating to our food allergies and took our concerns seriously. Must try to dine & you won't regret! This restaurant didn't disappoint us. We stopped by for lunch before heading to beautiful Jasper. I have daughters who ordered mac & cheese from kids menu. They love that melting cheese is so flavorful. I had pesto ravioli with shrimp & I finished the whole plate. It came with tasty garlic bread. The shrimps were good size & not dry. My husband loved his beef vindaloo which was perfectly complimented with freshly cooked naan bread & warm rice. You would know that the kitchen & food are clean when the restroom is clean. Their restroom was hygienic even at around 2ish pm after busy lunch hours. What caught my attention most was the service. Our server was Michelle & she made sure we were well taken cared of. We had the chance to talk to the chef owner & we were impressed with their passion on what they do. We were visiting from San Francisco. Not sure about the other bad reviews, I know they had a rocky start while they got things figured out when they first opened. Oh my word!!!! That was one of the best meals, I've ever had in my life. I had the Brisket Deluxe burger- and I kid you not- it's worth dying for. That was the most tender, and flavourful brisket I've ever had in my life. It just melted in my mouth. I'm going to dream about it for months. I've lived in Hinton for nearly 2 years and finally made the leap to try something new, and boy it was soooo worth it. We will definitely be coming back again- my 1 and only complaint was the coleslaw had too much dressing in my opinion- but aside from that, everything else was incredible! read more
