Chefs cut 10oz NewYork Alberta's beef with daily vegetables side

Nick is our hospitality host and server in this nice restaurant with modern deco and plenty of free parking and free wifi. They serve fusion food from birders and baguette, cowboy sushi and poke bowl to Canadian Poutine, phish Tacos, karma Curry, typhoon noddle and steak and potatoes and extensive wine list. Probably every tourist will find something to fit his or her taste. Upscale settings and service in casual ambiance. We ordered 3 Alberta beef NY cuts medium rare Chef's cuts with variety of additional sides and got one rare, one medium rare and one medium . Sure we don't expect steak house prime quality here. I would prefer the gravy only on the mash potatoes, not on the steak. Would love to taste the smell and texture of Alberta beef by itself only. The crispy skin salmon daily catch is really good. Wicked tuna poke bowl is served with plenty of marinated tuna, mango, avocado and edamame beans in fragrance jasmine rice. All are well decorated and served. We also ordered a bottle of Pinot noir Saveurs du temp, languedoc, France. Nice dinner in the Canadian national park without any reservations. Go beat that in any USA national parks restaurant. We don't have room for wicked desserts so sorry Evil Dave.

They have some tasty comfort food dishes I had the Typhoon Noodles with shrimp. The noodles were udon-like which I happen to love. The sauce was a little sweet but still on the lighter side. I could have used some heat but that's just me. The dish is filling as a generous portion is provided. The husband had the meatloaf...and I'm not sure if this is their signature dish....but it should be. The meatloaf has great texture and flavor! Meaty and satisfying if you are looking for something other than steak. It's definitely what I consider a comfort dish. We also started with the arugula salad. It's big and easily shareable with 3 people. There was just the 2 of us and we didn't finish it. They have a nice beer, wine, cocktail menu so you should be able to find an adult beverage that satisfies. They also have zero proof beverages as well so.... Something for everyone. We got lucky on a Friday night and were able walk in with no reservation. Service is really good! Quick, efficient and friendly.

Very friendly staff, clean restrooms, great location. Still grateful not super busy yet. The food is consistently delicious each time we visit. I would make one recommendation, add outdoor seating and a fire pit it would make this place standout from everyone else. I will return !

The service was great. Our server asked how quickly we wanted our food and was able to spread it out nicely since we were on a date and wanted to take it slower. The brie appetizer was delicious!

This was hands-down one of the best meals that we had on our entire trip to Canada. We came after a long day of hiking and exploring in the Jasper area. The service was extremely attentive and fast. The restaurant is very clean and modern with a romantic or date night feel. We decided to try a little bit of everything from their menu, and each and every dish was not only beautifully presented, but absolutely bursting with fresh delicious flavor. We tried the Cowboy sushi, the daily bread, the fried Brie, and the bison meatballs. My mouth is watering just thinking about all of the delicious appetizers that we had. It was truly hard to pick a favorite but I would definitely recommend at least trying the cowboy sushi. Do yourself a favor, and if you only have one meal in Jasper, make it Evil Dave's Grill.

Came by here to have some dinner and celebrate a birthday after some water rafting in the cold river. They were doing some construction on the side, so don't worry they are still open. When we got there we were able to get seated at a table for a party of nine of us. We order a few appetizers, a bottle of wine, and entrées to try. The cheese board was pretty tasty, it was something that we shared as a group. We ordered a few of the entrées, such as the steak, curry, and salmon. They did not have as many things on the menu, so the party of nine we ended up doubling up on certain things. The portions are not as large as we thought, good for one person to eat each with some appetizers. The food was all right, but it was kind of interesting that they had some fusion food.

Had my birthday dinner here with a party of 8 while visiting Jasper and the food was amazing! Ordered cowboy sushi which was just about the best appetizer I've ever had the dumplings which were good but in comparison to how good the rest of the food was seemed mediocre and the bison meatloaf with wild boar bacon. I also tried some of my daughters rainbow trout and was blown away. Fish has no business tasting that good. For desert fried bananas and ice cream. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Cocktails were expensive at around $16/drink but is pretty average for jasper prices. Service was nothing to complain about and staff is friendly. The restaurant has a modern ambiance and is nice but doesn't have a dress code. 20% gratuity automatically added for groups larger than 7. I would for sure eat here again. Food and drink total for the table of 8 was around $630

It was a very nice place. I liked the decoration and paintings on the wall. The customer service was pretty good. They were not interrupting every second for quality of the food or something and that's one of the positive things about my experience. Overall the atmosphere was pretty nice and the experience was good. The food was not something memorable although the quality was pretty good. I think that maybe the only thing I saw. In general it's a nice place to go for dinner and I may go back there again.

It has been years since I have been here, but I am glad we came back. First off years ago we discovered this place by walking in from the cold. I am told now making a reservation is wise. Parking also not the best... but once your in, its great. First off chill atmosphere, friendly staff. Daily bread is awesome BUT order 2. Or 1 per person, its small. The drink menu is awesome, we had wine they pair it well. Anyways the meatloaf is awesome and I guess the best seller for 12 years. The salmon also wicked. Cheesecake and mousse both so tasty. Now bring $$$$ this aint cheap. Anyways so good, food, service, atmosphere! Try it out!

We ordered the mushroom toast, the pork belly, and the dan dan noodles. The noodles were far and away the best item, absolutely delicious! The pork belly was quite good as well. The mushroom toast wasn't bad, but we wished the mushrooms were a bit more pureed, the chunks of mushroom were a bit difficult to eat. Overall hugely recommended!

I always like lemon-anything and meringue. chocolate pot de creme - caramel candies and chantilly.....................................................................14 I don't really like chocolate desserts and my father-in-law wasn't going to let anyone touch his dessert. He finished it, so I can only surmise it was good. Cheesecake with berries..........................................??? This is not on the online menu so I can't really say exactly what it was. It was normal cheesecake that was flamed on top. It was definitely the most memorable dish. Unfortunately, it was the worst dish of our trip. All I can say is, it reminded me too much of my own baking (which I normally burn), except that it takes much more talent to burn the top than the bottom. My husband tried to eat the black char and I told him if he did, then he would need to schedule himself for a colonoscopy, because he'll be walking away with colon cancer if he ate it. First, more positives: I like the vibe of the bistro - there was a bar at the front and someone was just hanging out on their laptop. It wasn't too busy or crowded. I liked that they had some goods to browse through while waiting for the rest of the party to arrive. The bathroom was also very clean. I liked the overall aesthetic - modern cabin chic. The menu has the name of the chef. So I was kind of hoping for an experience similar to one I had in Colorado at a small sushi restaurant where there is no menu, and the chef creates an experience for you, and you treasure every single bite. I didn't quite get that here unfortunately. And I was on a diet (still am) and with people who don't prefer certain foods, so maybe there would be other things that I would try. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely come back and try out other things. So that's why my rating is a 4/5 and the end of most of my review. If you want to hear me complain, continue reading. Else, thanks for reading this far! So again, I'm going on my soap box: This was the second restaurant that told us that the meals were great for sharing and they recommend it, you know, family style? Yeah, no. While some of the dishes were EASIER to share than at the Juniper, they were not great for sharing. In my last review, I had thought maybe it's because there are more Asian tourists who like to family-style every meal. Or maybe this is the new trendy thing. Maybe it's a Canadian thing. Here's a new hypothesis: maybe so many of these dishes are so overpriced and everyone wants to try a little bit of everything, so they don't have to feel shame when they start sharing these small plates with each other, the servers give them "permission" to family style. The idea of tapas is great - but these are fancy dishes that don't have much substance to them and it's really hard to split some things 6 ways. At least there were serving ware this time. Finally, this is a special tid-bit to whoever reads this long review: Avoid sitting near the hanging exit sign if you are more than 6 feet tall. My brother-in-law sat under the sign and when he stood up, he knocked his head very strongly against the sign. Not good for safety. Functionality over aesthetics is what I prefer. Plus, who wants to sit UNDER something that has the potential to fall anyway? That never happens you say? Yeah, it happened to my mom. Different day, different story.

I have to admit I may of groaned a bit climbing the flight of stairs up to the restaurant after a verticle climb up a mountain earlier, however the trek up was worth it. We were seated right away, and greated by Maddy soon after although wern't ready to place our drink orders quite yet. After a bit we had moved onto the menu choices where Maddy hadnt come back and was having a casual chat for a while with the bar tender so I walked over and asked to place our drink orders. Since they wern't busy and we were thirsty we were both a tad annoyed as we felt a little forgotten. I ordered the Cabernet and my guy the Rhino Hazy IPA draft. My wine was delishious although pricey for an 8oz glass. We both agreed the IPA was a bit heavy on the citrus notes so my guy opted for the The Apex Predator Ale on the next round which was much better. The food came out quickly where I had the Truffle Tortellini with cajun shrimp with Maddy's suggestion and it was SO good! My guy had the Alfredo with chicken which to both of us was a bit bland. After a while of the food being dropped off Maddy came around where we asked for some salt and pepper and parmesan which did help the alfredo dish. I ordered a second glass of 5oz wine, less than the already costly 8oz pour but our server brought the 8oz pour. She apologized when I told her was pretty sure I ordered the 5oz but told her I would just keep it. This place has good food, a nice kind of trendy atmosphere which is updated and stylish, with a good menu. Our service wasn't top notch but have had way worse and we thought Maddy was nice at least. The food and drinks are pricey but would definitely return.
