I've been to the auto service at this Canadian Tire at Great Lakes and their charges are always insane but I have paid it to have the service. I understand needing to pay for service but they repaired my tire and supposedly fixed it but they did not. Then when I called them about it they wanted me to pay for an inspection so they can take a look and tell me if it was the same issue or not. Just a place that wants to grab money and overpriced. auto service department is rude and confrontational. they told me my headlight needs to be replaced due to a crack and moisture inside the housing. there was never any moisture inside and when I asked them to point it out they told me that they don't have to answer to me. when I asked them to show me the crack they pointed to something that just looks like a speck and said trust me it's cracked. pretty sure they just rinse people on purpose. most unprofessional manager I've ever dealt with read more

Canadian Tire - Department Stores Near Me - Brampton, Ontario

For some reason my Canadian tire credit card was deactivated. I spoke to Candian tire representative and they say it was too many incorrect attempts. I do not know where these attempts came from, So through the phone they had me create a new PIN and I in the next few days I went to use the card and was not asked for my PIN, instead I had to sign the receipt. I called Candian tire and they told me that occasionally you have to sign and that it does not ask for the PIN. I never heard of this with any of my other Credit cards and when I asked the Canadian tire cashier he could not tell me why my PIN was not used. Bunch of idiots! I came in cause my car kept dying and I needed it fixed ASAP (my mechanic is closed on the weekend) so they ASSUMED it was my battery and didn't even do a diagnostic for my car to actually see what the issue is. I paid over $300 for them to STEAL my battery and replace it meanwhile my car still doesn't start. I would never get my car serviced at Canadian Tire; most of their "mechanics" couldn't "fix" a box of Lego. No, I like this store for the weekly flyer specials. Some of them are just outstanding. For example, last week I got an amazing $400 multi-purpose heavy-duty ladder for $129...how can you beat that? They also have excellent prices on kitchen wares and utensils. I've been to this particular location for both car related issues as well as to purchase outdoors-y items from their store. Each time I've found customer service here to be horrible. The reason I've made repeat visits are that it has a convenient location for me and their prices are pretty good (unless they are repairing something like a headlight or tail light that's out) It's far cheaper to just buy the light bulb and pop it in yourself. But some examples of horrid customer service would be extremely long wait times for something simple as an oil change, I mean 2 hours or so (one of my family members had to wait a bit longer than that). And the last time I was here they used a container (where I keep the washer fluid, rags and some other small items usually found in car trunks) from the trunk of my car to do something like keep their oil canister on top of it, and I found this out when I got home to a container all greasy with oil. I thought this level of service was at least restricted to their auto section, but no, cashiers here are also pretty rude or brick-walled in their job. And I like to think I'm a pretty nice guy (I certainly wasn't rude to them) but my charm failed to work on the cashier who was adamant to do things her way. So, easy to say I won't likely be coming back here for any Canadian or Tire shopping anytime soon, if I absolutely need to check out a Canadian Tire I'll most definitely be taking a drive to another location. read more

I recently visited Canadian Tire at Trinity and the employees there are very somber. They are a group of young people but they seem to be working in a boot camp. I do not think this is a motivational place for young people to work. I recalled shopping in an aisle and I heard the words of probably a Manager to an employee. "I don't want to see you talking and smiling, you came here to work!" It was so appalling. I thought this type of work conditions and treatment was abolished. I think these Managers need to go back to school and study Business Management. This situation is so pathetic. read more

This is a long story but it expresses my disappointment with Canadian Tire for their poor attitude towards their paying customers-especially their tiered management all the way up to the corporate level. I had my Lexus in to have a wiper changed(couldn't figure out the clip on the blade) so I left it in the hands of the 'experts' to do the installation, which I gladly paid for. In retrospect I deeply regret having trusted them with this routine job. I watched as the mechanic did the install and when he was taking off the other wiper(driver side) to check for the proper clip he let go of the wiper arm and it slammed against the windshield..I didn't look to see if it was damaged but I saw him do it. Anyways he changed the other wiper and i paid and went on my way. The next morning I went out to the car and immediately noticed that there was a 6 inch crack from the point of contact where the arm hit the windshield upwards. I hadn't noticed that the windshield was damaged at the time(as it was covered my the wiper blade) but very clearly when I inspected I could see the impact point where the arm had hit and cracked forming a star pattern( numerous cracks in different directions). I went back the next day with the receipt for the wiper install and explained what had happened and said that I had witnessed the mechanic accidentally let go of the wiper arm. The manager Bob said he had to have someone look at the video tape to verify my story-question-why wouldn't Bob look at the security video himself? isn't he the manager? Anyways whoever looked at it said that there wasn't any evidence of the mechanic damaging the windshield..I questioned further and found out that they didn't look at the right time frame on the servailence camera. When i spoke to Bob again a redirected him to the proper segment of the tape they came back to me and said they still couldn't see anything conclusive from the tape..Geez isn't that why you're supposed to have the tape in the first place..and what are you saying really? that you don't trust that I'm telling the truth. Anyways, they agreed to replace the windshield (in the meantime i went out to Lexus and got a quote for a replacement Lexus windshield and told Bob explicitly that I wanted an original Lexus approved windshield installed to replace the one they broke. Well they called me in immediately which was great, BUT then went ahead and replaced my windshield with a non OEM replacement windshield PBG make-even though i had told them I wanted a Lexus windshield. So I went back to them and said I wanted the windshield replaced again and the manager Bob told me that his manager Travis had said that they were not going to replace it, that they had replaced the windshield satisfactorily. I escalated my issue to the next level and received a call from Bob who told me that he had spoken with the general manager and he had said that they were not going to replace the windshield with a Lexus windshield. I told Travis (general manager) that I was not satisfied and he told me to call corporate and see what they could do for me. So here we are over a month later and corporate office has said that they aren't going to replace it... their reasoning being that since my car is a 2010 that the windshield may have weakened over time and and that they have replaced the original windshield with an adequate quality new one. I'm not sure what is going to happen next but one thing for certain is I'll never trust Canadian Tire again with anything of value again-they botched a simple wiper install, they were not responsible in replacing the windshield with the same quality as the one they broke, and they made me feel like I was the one who had no right to ask for the proper replacement for my own vehicle, which I have a lot of pride in owning-now I have a cheap non original windshield, the only non original part on my Lexus vehicle Apparently you don't value me as a customer so I'll take my business elsewhere, and I'd strongly advise other's with valuable cars to take them somewhere else where they do care and are responsible number one for looking after their customers. This auto centre is aweful. My husband just went there to change the tires of his truck, and they didnt even do it right. We were driving and the truck started shaking. We called them and they said that they would look at the vehicle and see if it was their fault but if it isnt then we have to pay more money. The vehicle was fine not shaking before we left it in canadian tire. This is just the worst service ive ever had on our cars. Never going back to this place again! read more

Last week they had 2 cashiers and a huge line of people. Despite by better judgement I went back today, I needed a few things. No carts and lots of young attendants walking around re-stocking shelves, helping customers, etc. Got to cash, 2 cashiers and at least 30 people on the lings. I've been servicing my car at this particular location for the past few months and I've been disappointed with the level of service that I've received with each visit. I will NEVER trust this location nor any other Canadian Tire location to service my vehicles! Their customer service is absolutely horrible - their staff are very lazy and more engaged in their personal selves than servicing their customers. I honestly don't know where they get their so-called mechanics, because they seem to have very little knowledge and experience in servicing vehicles. I bought a defective dehumidifier from the store. I tried to use it but it did not work. I went to the great lakes store to get a refund. In the original packaging with the receipt. The manager Jon was so unprofessional in his dress code, language, tone and behavior. Apart from the tattoos that covered his neck right down to his arms. His language was offensive and abusive. It was a blatant act of out right prejudice!! He basically bullied me and kept putting words into my mouth. I repeated several times I do not want an exchange, only a refund. He even said I was going to give you a refund but not anymore. He did not like my attitude. This person needs major training. I bet any money his file has get similar comments from staff and clients.CT get Jon some anger management and customer service courses to help him handle and conduct himself more professionally. Introduce a dress code that conducive to warm and friendly customer service. He shouted to the other cashier give her the customer relations number and walked off.
