Without getting into nitty gritty details they: * Gave us a different mattress than the mattress we purchased * Placed that mattress in the mattress cover of the mattress we *did* purchase (see what they did there? Fraud, anyone?) * Set up our mattress upside down (so the memory foam was on the bottom - I didn't notice for months, until a back ache made me unzip the mattress cover (and detect the fraud)) * After a year of pestering them and threatening legal action, they finally replaced the incorrect mattress...with another mattress that was different than the one we originally purchased. * Set up the mattress on a non-approved base, which just broke last month. The legs literally folded over and the mattress sunk in the middle. Yes, we paid for an official Temperpedic base. (So, if you're counting, that's a second fraud). I had an even more scathing review posted on Google for the year I pestered them, but I agreed to take it down if they replaced our mattress. But now there's the issue with the frame as well. So, MoM, if you're listening (and I'm sure you are): I will (once again) take this review down if/when I receive a refund for the Tempur base that we purchased. I'd also like a refund for the difference between what you charged us, and what the replacement mattress you gave us cost. If this review is still up, the reader can know that Mattresses of Muskoka continues to stand behind their frauds, and has not yet refunded us as requested. You probably don't want to be next, right?

I heard many winner announcements from the kiosk. I'm glad that she won some money. The man at the checkout was nice. I paid for my coasters with a credit card. He placed my item in a plastic bag. I thanked him and left the store. This store was closed after the concert was over at 11 pm. I'm glad that I dropped by before the show. I looked at the hours of operation. I appreciate that the products here are so thoughtfully selected as well. Cottage decor can teeter on kitschy, but the selection at CC -- technicolor enameled outdoor dining sets, lake-themed hooked rugs, craftsman birdhouses -- is tasteful as well as fun. Popsicle makers and painted martini glasses give ideas. Food from local vendors means you don't have to wait for next week's farmers market to pick up those jams or condiments. And a bounty of healthful dining options from veggie paninis to fresh soups make a quick, delicious lunch. CC definitely makes a great addition to our little hamlet.

"No, I've been here 20 years!" she replies cheerfully. Which means this is the exact same shop I've browsed the last eight summers running, and I had no idea what the name was. "Oh," I say sheepishly. "Then you've redecorated?" Fortunately, she replies with an enthusiastic nod. New jewelry cases, a ton more women's clothing, a reorganization of display stands and shelves, and a funky new Anthropolgie-esque inventory of home goods. This means that I have rather a few souvenirs in my possession that've come from Golden Valley Trading: a pair of amber teardrop earrings, some metallic sandals, a fleecy Muskoka sweatshirt, and a deliciously-scented tub of Fruits & Passion Monoï body butter than disappeared years ago and she hasn't carried since. *pout* My powers of observation are clearly suffering; but it *is* good to know that one of my most reliable sources for cottage summer souvenirs isn't going anywhere any time soon.
