Unfortunately, I've to downgrade my rating for this store. The tire shop has no accountability whatsoever. They took in my Tesla for a tire-swap and after five hours I get the call saying it's done. I arrived to find there's a bill for over $4,000, and the very intimidating guy telling me nope, the tires weren't swapped as they don't do that profile anymore. Well, if you don't do that profile anymore then why did you take my car in in the first place and made me lose my day. Once I got the car, I noticed the tire valve caps for all four tires were all removed and never replaced, the tires were taken off and put back on. So, they had to take off the tires to know the profile? And then when I went back to the same guy at the counter to ask why the tires were taken off if they knew they won't be doing it, he told me intimidatingly, nope, they weren't taken off and you can meet the manager tomorrow. A year prior, they swapped my tires which were off rims and ended up puncturing two. Well, never again. I'll not recommend their tire shop. They employ brand new mechanics who make mistakes again and again and no one takes accountability. Zero/10 read more

Brutally inefficient process. Was told it would be two hours to get my tires changed over. Came back after two hours and told it would be 40 min before they would take my car in. I watched the mechanics work and it was a joke. They had open bays "waiting" for mechanical work, instead of processing what they have. There was a truck on one of the hoists waiting to hear back from the customer. It was there when I left two hour before. It doesn't take a genius to realize that waiting for a customer to call back should not occupy a resource. After each tire change one of the techs went out for a smoke break. Can't help but think that time adds up, and where is that time getting charged? The manager needs to do a better job managing his shop and trades. Until then, I would look elsewhere for any type of car service. read more

I've been to this store many times over the years, but not recently, as I have a different location very near my workplace now. That said, when I wasn't able to order what I wanted from my usual store, I tried this one instead. There is only curb side pickup at the moment, and although the process to funnel people in to get their orders is very good, picking up orders themselves is a little annoying. I ordered 3 separate orders; one for my work, one for me, and one for an item I forgot on the first order. I signed up for text messages to let me know when the orders were ready for pickup. I got two texts quite quickly, and so, figuring the third order was only one item, I'd head over to pick things up (45 minutes later). Even though I have email confirmation and a receipt, I still haven't gotten a text, and I'm unable to get my third order. Even though nobody else is in the line to pick up items, the staff seem unwilling to try and find my order and help me get on my way. So I'm stuck deciding whether to go home and come back later, or to wait for who knows how long. Either way, kind of a frustrating process, which I'm sure could have been much smoother if the staff tried to be as helpful as possible. I think I'll continue to try and go to the store near my work instead of this one. read more

Very interesting...I don't know know why this place is called Canadian Tire, because this place has so much more than Tires. I'm not from Canada, therefore I don't know the history behind this establishment. The best comparison I can provide to this place is Target in the States. Clean, spacious, good selection, reasonable prices and a friendly staff. They carry a little bit of everything, electronics, candy, household goods etc...oh yeah...lets not forget Tires!!! I think this establishment started out as a Tire shop and eventually started to sell everything else, but kept the name...lol. Not the most organized Canadian Tire I've been in. And people to assist you are few and far between. But my friend and I found what we were looking for. Found someone willing to check us out (this proved to be the most difficult part of our experience) and off we went. I came in to get my tires switched, from winter to all seasons. I had an appointment booked for lunch time, and I had confirmed on the phone that it would take maximum 1.5 hours. When I arrived, I was once again informed that it would take 1.5 hours max. So I handed over the keys, went to wander the store for a bit, and then came to sit down in the waiting area. I kept an eye on my car and noticed that my tires had been removed, and the car was hoisted up, but no one was working on the car. After waiting 40 minutes, I went up to the front desk to ask why my car was just sitting there. I was told "well it's a long process, and we cannot guarantee the waiting time, but it is approximately 1.5 hours once we get the car inside", so I asked then why was my car brought inside and left abandoned for 40 minutes (who knows how long it was sitting like that before I got to the waiting room). The person I was speaking to did not have much of an answer for me, just kept repeating that it was in the process. I asked him to see what the hold up was and why someone started working on my car and then stopped and left it sitting there. They got someone working on it shortly after, and it only took them 20 minutes. All they had done prior to my intervention was remove the tires and hoist the vehicle. In the 20 minutes following, they were able to remove my rims and put them on my all seasons, and then put my all seasons on. And then they stuffed the tires into my car, all on the driver side, so that I was unable to adjust my seat or get my seatbelt. Then I watched them reverse my car out of the shop and drive over the car jacks and watched my car flop around over them. Total time : just under 3 hours - from when I handed over the keys to when I got my keys back Will never get my tires changed here again. read more

Came in the other day to buy some convex mirrors for my new car. Sales clerk was great at directing to the spot where they are kept. But after a couple of minutes, two women from the store approached me trying to get me to sign up for a Canadian Tire MasterCard. I wasn't interested but they kept on harassing me until I left. I could have easily have bought the mirrors on Amazon, saved some gas and NOT be harassed. Wonder why should anyone shop at a place where they are harassed. Funny business practice. Honestly. This canadian tire is litterally the worst. Ive been having non atop issues. Their customer service is crap. Their employees dont know jack. Go to home depot or to aurora if you must go to canadian tire. These people are absolutley usless. Also. Half the employees currently have their masks dangling. Not following proper protocal. I purchased a set of rotors for my rear. Trued to return them two days later -WITH- the recipt . Was told i would be able to bring it in once stores were open, to which i pointed out i would mostly lost the recipt in said time, which if course they did. So now apparently were only allowed credit, yet i dont want credit to this crappy tire. I want me damn money. Unless i recieve my money, i will probably not be going back to any of these stores let alone the newmarket one. Its no wonder they have the worst rating in the area. read more

The "mechanic " damaged my door and parked my big truck between two cars when there was empty spots in hoping I wouldn't see it. Found some area rugs I liked. They came in 3x4's and 4x6's which was the size I needed. I took pictures earlier of the rugs and the price tags under the rugs on the shelf. Took 4 of them to the cashier only to find out they were $30.00 more per rug than what the price on the shelf indicated. They told me they have to charge what the scanner says. I mentioned both sizes had the price tags directly under them. Apparently they put the rugs in the wrong location. Both sizes! I asked them to honour the price tag where the product was and was told flat out NO. Not even a sorry for the inconveniance. How am I supposed to know their correct pricing? I don't have a scanner. I have shopped for years at CT but this experience has definitely made a direct impact on whether or not I will continue to shop there. So much for customer satisfaction! read more

I feel very grateful to the Manager and clerk's store  for your busy schedule to answer my questions in a very friendly way. I went in one day to make a return. The female employee working in customer service doesn't greet me at all. She just looks at me and ask why I'm returning the item. I have worked in customer service with 10+ years. I have learned to always greet your customers as that leaves a good first impression. Just went into the store to look for something that they didn't have, so as I try to leave, but not walk through the very long (corona virus toilet paper buyers) line up that is extended past the actual queue, I kindly approach the Customer Service desk to ask if there is an alternate exit and she doesn't even look up at me from the tablet device! She just points to the long queue line and says, that's where you exit. I ask if there's any alternate exits since I'm not buying anything, and she cannot even look up at me to rudely say NO. I'm confused, WHY IS SHE WORKING IN CUSTOMER SERVICE!??? She was a miserable woman and I'm so disappointed with this Canadian Tire. I will never step foot in this store again because of that miserable lady who is the one to represent your store. I'm even more upset as I think she is management since she was wearing a different jacket, top. I had to push past everyone in line, so that I could leave the store with no purchase. Brought my car in for oil change. They lost several screws when changing air filter I asked them not to touch. I also asked them not to touch anything else but oil change. They removed my cabin filter and went on and on about it and how I was going to poison my family. I don't have a family. They tried to upsell me on 1 month old tires also. Will I be back? I came in to exchange a product that had stopped working. It was within the 1 year warranty period but i didn't have the receipt. I called my bank and got the date of the transaction and the staff at this location were helpful and able to find the receipt and get me exchange. read more

We live in Newmarket and shop at this store from time to time. We tried to purchase an item on Tuesday August 6th and even though the stock identified one item in stock it was no where to be found. We went back on Thursday August 8th because the inventory for the item had been refreshed and it said there were 7 items in stock. Went to the store the item is no where to be found and we were told it had just arrived at the store that day and would be on the shelf the next day. Foolishly we went back on Friday August 9th just to be told no one knows where the "7 in stock" are -- we give up! We also asked about another item that was on sale only to be told that while the item is in stock no one knows where it is and we should come back tomorrow when the Manager is in. We now absolutely give up!! I guess Newmarket doesn't have to worry about sales. read more

I have no problem with the store itself and I'd give them a 5 star rating. This is based on the garage service. When I called to book an appointment to get my tires and oil changed, the person I spoke to was extremely rude like I was wasting his time and hung up on me. To the mechanic, I understand that it's a busy time of year, but I can't see you over the phone so how you spoke to me became my first impression of you, and of the garage, I've taken my business elsewhere. read more

Went in for e test was told 45 min. We said ok came back were told 20 more min then came back and the guy gives the Keys to a guy and says there bringing it in now. They bring it in n it sits there in the bay for another 20 min. DO NOT DO ANY AUTO WORK HERE! Came in to get a safety check and they said I needed $1300 worth of work done (Tie rod, control arm, new tires). This seemed fishy to me as I had just gotten the same work done on the other side of the car 2 months ago and the other mechanic didn't say anything about those parts needing to be replaced and the tires were 2 yr old winter tires. I went to get a second opinion and sure enough, they said none of that work needed to be done and passed my safety check. I went back and the manager (George) wouldn't even come to see me. I came to this location to return a Bissell vacuum and purchase a dyson vacuum . I called the store prior coming to this location just to confirm the vacuum was there . I drove from Toronto which took me almost two hours came in rush hour traffic . Went to the aisle where vacuums are located and found an employee as the dyson vacuums are locked up . I waited with my daughter for 15 min only for the employee to tell me so sorry the manager Sara went home with the key !!! So at this point I wanted to speak to the manager on duty while the woman an employee spoke to the manager on the phone explained what happened he was trying to figure out why I would like to speak to him as what was he going to do !! He did come Bryan the night manager his response to me was oh well honest mistake !!! Shrugged his shoulders !! Not an apology just the excuse for the manager from the previous shift !! So not sure what his job description is but as a manager your there to defuse a situation and given the fact that I drove for two hours to come to this location after speaking and confirming that they had this particular 600.00 dollar vacuum!! I feel sorry for the owner of this location as the people you employ as your manager are there to oversee your staff and manage customer care and satisfaction!! You don't want to lose business !! Your staff are to manage your location !!! So please fire staff and restructure !! Horrible customer care !!!! Don't go to this location !! Do yourself a favour!!! I had an amazing customer service experience here last night. I went in to buy a slow cooker that was on sale half price (last day of the sale). When I was there I saw the KitchenAid mixers were on sale too (I had just looked at them at Home Outfitters). However, the sale was for the next week and they had already put their signs up. The mixer was 40% off and has a $50 dollar rebate. I asked the customer service desk if both discounts would apply. She said that they would, (Home Outfitters said that I could not get the rebate if I used a store coupon). I wanted the mixer in another colour, the girl said she could call a few stores and see if they had it there. Such amazing customer service for a big box store. I was so impressed. read more

I took my old car in to have a bad power window put up. Because of the age of the car I didn't want the motor and regulator replaced, but just the window fixed in the up position. After I paid over $100 for the work done, the tech told me that there was no guarantee the window would stay up because the motor wasn't fixed and the couldn't bolt it in place. A few days later the window had slid back down, so I took it to my father-in-law (not a mechanic BTW). He took the door apart and discovered a Styrofoam piece that was apparently supposed to hold the window up. No wonder the window had slid back down, as the flimsy foam was already bent. My father-in-law put a bolt in and the window has stayed in place perfectly. I called Canadian Tire and complained that the quality of the repair was very poor, and that a rookie mechanic had been able to do a much better job. I wanted my money back, and all I was offered was an oil change (like I would let them touch my car again), and was told that actually I "don't deserve anything ". I have been a fan of CT for a long time, but this was so disheartening that I can't say I would ever recommend anyone have any automotive service done here. Their mechanics clearly are willing to sacrifice their integrity and quality of workmanship in order to just push through more vehicles and get you back for more expensive work sooner. So disappointed in this Canadian establishment. read more

This auto shop is without a doubt the WORST we have ever experienced. Last week our Equinox with 100,000k on it developed a leak. We made an appt and took it in on Thurs and we were told it required new trans cooler/trans fluid lines including flushing lines and adding cooler. The quote was $600. We picked the car up after the work was done and paid $602.36. The car was now reving very high 5000-6000 which it had never done ever before (2000-2500max). We called and they made an appt the following Tues to check and see that the new problem had nothing to do with the original work and again charged $53.00 for another diagnosis. We were called and informed the two were not related, that we probably needed an new transmission, to go to a trans shop or go to the dealer and trade our car in on a new one. We went to the transmission shop, described all of the above, the mechanic then pulled the transmission dip stick which was totally dry, said this was our problem, added 3 liters of transmission fluid and the car worked perfectly after that. We are now in conflict with the store owner and the auto manager to get some of our money back and have escalated it to Canadian Customer Service head office, not to mention the damage that may have been done to the transmission driving 5 days without trans fluid. read more

Purchased bicycle for my son, didn't notice how stiff the steering was, son came very close to having an accident, tried to return it, they refused, Chad, the manager took it to the back, came out 20 min later claiming it had been fixed. Ran into this store to replace a $12 dollar salt/pepper mill that broke. Walked in wearing a backpack that I use instead of a purse. Was requested by a young worker (no more that 20 I would guess) 'you need to leave your backpack at customer service'. I replied with "Really?" and she replied "yes, really". Went to customer service, waited 5 minutes while the attendant was processing a return for someone with no receipt. Got impatient and went and found the pepper mill. As I was picking it up an older clerk walked up as I guess the younger clerk ratted me out. I asked her if she was the manager. After a hesitation she said she was (I am not sure she was). I told her I took exception to being required to leaving my personal belongings and valuables. She started to argue saying that yes, they do, and the "problem is that people put things in them" Welcome to the real world - people shoplift yes, they are no different than any other business out there! The problem is they don't have good inventory control. I then strongly and loudly asked her to follow me back to the customer service desk where I showed her their own sign that said "We have the right to inspect all bags and parcels." It did not say "we have the right to ask all patrons to check their purses and bags." I did raise my voice as I did wish the employees at the store to understand that I did not agree with this business practice they were proposing. Furthermore, I felt like I had been 'profiled' (mistaking me for a high school kid perhaps) for carrying a backpack. There were a lot of ladies walking around that store with large purses that a I did call customer service in the parking lot. I told them that if this company is having issues with theft, then they need to develop a better means of inventory control. I suggested that a better solution would have been this..."Excuse me ma'am. I see you are wearing a backback. I just want to let you know that we have been having issues with theft, and that if it okay with you the cashier may ask to check the contents of your bag on your way out." Does the Owner and/or management of this store realize that if they ask people to check their bags, THEY then assume the risk of anything that happens to their belongings? Do they really want to take on that liability? Not going back to this store until the Owner puts in better customer service measures. read more
